Ah that's what is to blame is it LOL. Well the sun has just broken through here so perhaps it might dry my b** out and make me leap into action :D

Right I must away and get on. Have a very good day one and all in whatever you are doing. I might look in later when I sit down to watch the match. :D

Morning all - It rained here as well, but is now sunny. Think I'll have to get OH to check the down pipe as the water butt level doesn't seem to have risen much.

Not sure what to do today, cos there is always tomorrow :D

Morning all. Heavy rain here overnight. The sky is a mix of black cloud and bright sunshine at the moment, so could be in for some more. I'm not going to complain as the garden needs it. It is certainly looking much fresher this morning.

I've been really naughty this weekend and had two long sleeps!! Need to get my b** moving now as I have to fetch compost for the beetroot and get it thinned out.

A muddled fairy in a fairy dress, hobnail boots, deerstalker cap, fairy wand, accompanied by Spot the sabretoothed tiger.

Well I'm working on Spot.

I am no artist, so it has been computer cut and paste.

Need to work out how to make the picture fill the entire frame.

Ooo ! I say! How absolutely spiffing - lol

No more rain today, and there was a leaf blocking the down pipe. Grr. Went out to re-visit a local NT place. Well, we need to get value for money!

Just resting after a very busy day.

YG

YG Report 8 May 2011 21:12

I've dug a border over to see how wet it was underneath!! The rain seems to have done it's job overnight! Thinned a thousand and one beetroot plants and had a quick vacuum round. That was me done!! The sun was out and it has been a nice day after all.

Just chilling now, although I need to go and do the dirty dishes lol!

LaGooner Report 8 May 2011 21:17

I have planted out some sunflowers grown with love by my mini Gooners and dug out some perenials that had taken over the front garden. I could not bear to throw them away so gave a load to Yidarmylass with a promise of some more as it has got a bit out of hand with no space for bedding plants of which I have hundreds. I still have some more to thin out but just not had the time to get on with it.

YG

YG Report 8 May 2011 21:21

I was going to ditch some beetroot as I had load of it, but couldn't!! I don't have room in the borders for veggies, so have sacks, pots and grow bags all over the place! It has cost me a fortune in compost, so definitely not economical. My fault, as I planted too many seeds. I still have loads of tomatoes to do, so will be giving plenty away at work, I think, when they are a bit bigger!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 8 May 2011 21:26

I only buy a couple of tomato plants and 1 cucumber for the greenhouse and Grow Runner beans in the huge tub and peas in grow bags. Other than that it is not practical for me to grow loads of veg as I have not got a very big garden. In my last house I had a huge garden with fruit, veg, shrubs and tons of flowers. I am glad I moved though as I find this one enough to look after due to my health.

YG Report 8 May 2011 21:39

It's a lesson well learned for me this year LG!! I have only done them cos my dil bought the seeds for me at Christmas. I should have used more common sense and not planted so many!!

I usually buy plug plants in the quantity that I need.

I will try flowers next year, although I want to put more shrubs in the borders. I have lost some this year with the hard frost.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 8 May 2011 21:43

Do what I do with shrubs take cuttings from friends and rellies it is cheaper and for me great satisfaction in growing something from almost nothing

YG

YG Report 8 May 2011 21:52

I haven't got any friends with gardens to ask!! I have to buy mine!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 8 May 2011 21:54

It is such a pity you live so far from me as I can't bear throwing any plant away and love the challenge of propogating difficult things.
