Morning all ,
not as nice today and i had planned a barbie but we can eat inside quite happily ,
DET rowing natives is the norm around here they row with there neighbours shout at their kids at all hours She can shout and fight just as much as he can .Also no-one does the invite in for coffee its all at the door or over the fence in the south its much easier to deal with .

Morning all. My, weren't the Guiding Sorority chatty last night! And reading between the lines, the offspring will probably 'come round' when they want something.

Maz - at least your neighbours talk to each other. It has been said that folks in our county are rather reserved, hence the deliberate put-your-self-out-to-invite-someone-in. We talk to the folk across the road about once a year......if it snows and we muck in road clearing - lol. I blame the over use of cars. People walk out of their brick boxes into their metal boxes and disappear. Probably a bit different in areas with more closely built houses.

Hope the BBQ goes ahead - not quite the same if you cook with the kitchen stove.

Our neighbourhood is the same as yours DET.......... out of the houses and into the cars, we never see the faces of most of them. There are 12 properties here but I only recognize the people in 6 of them (and one of them is my cousin). I've lived in this house for over 20 years, so I'm not new to the neighbourhood.

Mind you, my husband is partly to blame. When we moved here, one of the neighbours had a garden party (for us, she said) so we could get to know everyone......... but Mr Sociable wouldn't go, and I didn't want to go without him...... :-( :-( :-(

LaGooner Report 4 Jun 2011 10:02

Our neighbourhood is quite friendly. Mind you that might be cos Yidarmylass and I talk to most folk being of the Old Lunden school. It is just our way LOL. Nobody gets past our doors without at least a hello LOL :-D. Don't mention the offspring :-(

Maz, when I lived in Sunderland it was like that, everybody knew everybody and most of us were related....... :-) :-) :-)

That is just about enough. I have one early night and spend one very kn**kering day in the daughter's garden and what do I come back to.........?? Three pages of Nutter chatting to read.

Hi RMS, Hi Pauline, Hi YAL (please to meet you, I'm upsidedown Aunty from Oz), hi the rest of you.

YG relax I don't think you need the fire brigade.

Gardening types. Do you know bougainvillea, horrible plant with bright flowers and big thorns. Pruned back one today that went about ten metres down a driveway in, over, under, around and through the fence.

And thank you, yes my hairdo does look nice. Kind of you to mention it because no one else here has said a word. Not that I expect my appearance to draw comment, unless of course I look like the north end of a south bound cow, then I am sure to be paid attention!!!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Jun 2011 10:43

Aww - of course we read about your hairdo! Just waiting to see what the outcome was :-D

Didn't realise that Borganwhateritwas had spikes, although I haven't been up close and personal with one. Beautiful flowers though. What with the deconstruction and keep fit, you must be fair shattered.

AuntySherlock Report 4 Jun 2011 10:47

Oh heavens I wasn't expecting applause and comments from your part of the world. Might as well have for all that I had from here. Next time I'll come home naked. That might have an effect. Except it will be hysterical laughter which will sort of spoil the moment.

Yes bougainvilleas have 'orrible spikes. It's gloves and long sleeves. As for fitness it can go take a running jump tomorrow. I'm having the day off to play quietly on my computer.
