LOL DET you will end up like me lumbered. I have to cut back on some of my 'good deeds' and spend sometime doing my thing. I have already decided I will be saying something to certain folk who think I can run to their aid at a drop of a hat. Unnecessary aid that is not the important things :-(

Morning LG - you do seem to run to help the youngest at the drop of the hat, and not necessarily with much thanks :-0

And as for your entertaining of groups of very young ladies once a week - well!!! You could cite physical debilities to cut down on some of the community voluntary activities!

LaGooner Report 8 Jun 2011 09:18

I have delegated a lot of the work for the young ladies to others already and that is no problem. It is that youngest one of mine that needs to be taught some short sharp lessons. They started last Friday when I was not flavour of the day ;-).

Right I am up and running for chores, catch you all later <3

It must be a very narrow tight-rope to walk - they need to stand on their own two feet, but despite having a family of their own, they are both still quite young and 'growing up'.
The best thing we ever did was move out of the family area (work) for a couple of years, and Eldest said the same thing when they came back from SF. With no family close by, you learn to cope without the physical support.

Evening all. Chilly here this evening.

Now you wouldn't catch me pampering my kids, brought up tough they are, do everything themselves.

Ummmm, which is why I am sitting here in the cold because I have given the blonde one my heater so she can try it out before she buys one.

I will need a blanket over the knees if global warming takes much longer to reach here. Yes, the rest of the house is quite warm. OH has the doors shut. Me, I'm about six steps down the hallway.

Just home from fitness. Not quite back into it yet, however quite happy to notice I can still outdo some of the young gymchicks, despite my years.

Taking some time off work work tomorrow. Need to go in first thing in the morning then I'm off to the LDS place to look at records I hope have been mistranscribed. If that doesn't take too long I can drop off at the Library and spend a while in there.

They are gradually learning. I have had to help H quite a lot as she had severe depression since the age of 13 but is now better. It is now a case of shooing her off to do her own thing :-D

Evening all - AS, I wondered if you'd got your electric heater out of storage...and you have! Hope that the Blonde one returns it to you soon. And congratulations on keeping up and surpassing the gymchicks. Australia is obviously the place to live to be health and supple.

The occasional flair up with H is understandable now. It must be difficult for you LG. Has N finished Uni now Maz?

Hmm, I don't have the same problems as you lot with your grown-up children - so I can't comment.

AuntyS is making me feel guilty because I haven't been to the gym for over a year.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Jun 2011 20:13

Pauline - don't feel guilty. Your keep fit regime is a way of life. You have a lifetime of hands on care. Most of us would have crumpled under the responsibility, and you are much admired. <3

YG Report 8 Jun 2011 20:33

Evening all.

A long day today, didn't finish work until 7.10pm so it's been a quick trip to the fish shop.

It's my favourite dil's birthday tomorrow and I still haven't got her pressie. Always buy a Deb's gift card and was hoping to be able to post it today, but still couldn't out at lunchtime, so looks like I will have to hand deliver it tomorrow. Oh joy!!! I'm sitting here with everything crossed hoping she will be out!

LaGooner Report 8 Jun 2011 20:48

Now now Yg that's not very Christian :-D :-D :-D :-D You would not catch me doing that sort of thing. (i'd do it but you wouldn't see me ;-)

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Jun 2011 20:55

YG

YG Report 8 Jun 2011 21:10

My dil has not been here since before I moved in over two years ago. That's why I don't feel very christian or magnanimous!! And yes, LG, that is a very big word for this time of night lol!! :-D

Sounds a bit like my oldest stepson. Never hear a peep from him unless we forget his birthday or he is after something. He never bothers with his Dad's birthday but you miss his !!! :-(
