So pleased to hear the moving news Maz. Pity you can't interview propective neighbours!! They are a bit like relatives, a little difficult to choose.

Thought about the alternative chat site. I would really miss being here. It is so easy to read the posts and there is the added bonus of being able to ask questions from a diverse range of personages. So it wouldn't matter where else I chatted I would still lurk around here and put in my two cents of comment or advice from time to time.

I am at my annual conference this time next week. In the lap of luxury for three days. I'll take the lappy with me and bore you all with stories of magnificent bathrooms, scrumptious food, and how aunty can sleep through any lecture without snoring.

I'm good at the slang Aunty, my old Dad used it a lot :-D. I agree about keeping to this site as I do not trust others, if I am honest I have been waiting to see others reactions.

I had a look at google groups. It has an interesting set up but I was alarmed at their small print which says anything you post can be used by them in whatever way they see fit, or words to that effect.

I would really dislike it if they took our recipes for mole stew and pink custard and marketed them and made a fortune.

So my vote is to stay here. The cost is not so great and we have the added bonus of lurking around exciting sites where the inhabitants, much less nutty than us, try to tear each other limb from limb, verbally!!!

I strongly agree so I think we shall have to lurk on here but spice it up a bit under a new name . Perhaps we shall have to go out and catch some new CPs. I will go hunting with my laser and see what I can stun. I will have to keep the catapult and the broomstick though or else I cannot deliver the various items that you other folk need. Arsenal ArkRoyal can stay in dry dock until she is needed for the wet weather or god forbid snow :-S

CPs are really getting Mackem Accents here nearly geordies but not quite lol they have been in the Dales this weekend they do like the falls at High Force

Morning Maz , I love the falls at HIgh Force too :-D. Don't like the midges that gather under them there trees though they don't half bite :-(. Well I am pleased to say we will be staying with this site then. Another thing is of course our occasional visitors will still be able to find us :-D

Its settled then - GR will have to put up with us for another year. Mind you, since the amalgamations of the boards, there seems to be less activity, which is most odd.

BTW - It's OH's 60th Birthday today - we have had a weekend long celebration. On Sat we had a family meal out with his parents, sister, the offspring and their plus ones, which is when he had his presents. Then of course there was the Village Festival yesterday. Today will be a bit of an anticlimax! (I'm letting him have a sleep in, poor soul) :-D

I have done about half of the dreaded but I will finish it off this afternoon.

OK. Here we stay and LG has given us our first challenge. Each Nut Lodger (or whatever we call ourselves) has to find a new CP and post its picture on the site.

The posting may be fleeting and the correct avatar returned to its rightful place once the CP has been acknowledged by another Nutter.

This should liven up the boards a bit.

You will have to give it a name. I googled "clip art ugly". There's lots of dragons there YG. The ads are a bit of a nuisance I just kept using the back button.

I absolutely have to think up a story for this one. Looks a bit like a purple people eater. Small, compact, does not take up too much room. It squeaks, so Spot will enjoy its company.
