LOL - in real life!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

If you can't beat them (the men, that is!) join 'em!
Hope Maz is having a good day. Can't wait to hear about the surprise!

Pouring down today, until around 3.30pm then it started to clear up and the sun came out! Managed to get the washing out, then in, then out again. There were still some very dark clouds lurking, but they have cleared now and it is a lovely evening.

Still doesn't inspire me to get out and do some gardening!! I seem to feel too tired lately to do much of anything. Not to worry, the naked gardener is coming in another two weeks, so he can catch up on everything I haven't done. I have decided to draw my pension now, but keep on working for another year or so, so I can have a few treats!! He is one of them!!! But only for the gardening, you understand!! ;-) ;-)

A friend has asked me if I would like to have either an overnight stay in London and see a show or have a few days away, so I have opted for the days away!! I need to get the cats vaccinated so I can board them and as I would still have to board them for one night, I might as well make it several!!

Oh poor cats being put in prison LOL :-0. Mine will stay at home while I am away in the safe keeping of Yidarmylass.

It;s quite a nice evening here too but I can't be asked to do much so I am going to sit here and research and also keep an eye on you lot. Also waiting for Maz to return as I am longing to know what the surprise was. Do you think we might need our fascinators ???? ;-)

Evening all - how wonderful that YG is getting a break away from home! Is there no one who would come in and feed the puddy tats??

Do you think we need to dust off those fascinators (again) girls? :-D :-D

Away to cook dinner for the returned hero - who got thoroughly drenched and brought 2 bin bags of washing home :-0

YG Report 16 Jul 2011 20:16

Regrettably not, DET. One of my colleagues has recommended a good place for them, so I am going to have to take the bull by the horns and pay!!

It will be worth it because I haven't had a holiday away from the house for 10 years now, so I can't wait!!

Mmm, fascinators????? Aunty will need a new pair of hob nail boots too! :-D ;-)

Have you had a good day ? :-D

YG

YG Report 16 Jul 2011 21:20

Yes, not bad thanks, LG. Fairly steady really, pedicure this morning, food shopping, then quick whip round to do the unmentionable and resting tonight!!

Just been checking lottery results for our works ticket, but no good >>> one of these days >>>>>>>> :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 16 Jul 2011 21:27

I bought a ticket today but have not checked it yet. Perhaps I am a big winner :-D, I can bet I'm not :-P

YG Report 16 Jul 2011 21:47

There are four of us at work that play every week. We have won two tenners over the last few months, so one of them decided that we should play ten lucky dips on last Friday's Euromillions! We won £5.80 on two lines!! No £160 million for us!! Spent the £5 winnings on five extra lucky dips tonight and not a sausage!!! :-(

Morning all, freezing cold, hint of rain. Wating for Spot to fetch the paper so I can check our lotto results. We had a ten million draw or some ridiculous amount like that last night. Have a bit of unmentionable to do today and then I hope to do some fh stuff. Haven't done much lately because I am waiting for information and certificates to arrive.

Also should bake the cakes I promised OH. Perhaps I could whip up one quick batch and not go overboard on the quantity.

Lovely idea for some time away YG. Have you decided on where. You don't have a neighbour who could feed the felines for you. Perhaps Maz could send a couple of hers down to you, or there might be someone a bit closer.

I will have to caulk the canoe if I am coming over for a fascinator festival.

LaGooner Report 16 Jul 2011 21:57

I'll check mine later as I have just found a bit of interesting fh info to delve into.

Evening Aunty. I'll send the ark over for you and detour to pick up RMS :-D

YG

YG Report 16 Jul 2011 22:08

Morning Aunty!!

You'll need to make sure the canoe is waterproof if you are heading over here. Plenty of rain today, and unsettled for the rest of the week.

My neighbour is elderly (even older than me!) and is disabled and although one of the cats visits her daily and sleeps in the house, she wouldn't be able to cope with them for a few days.

At the moment we are thinking of going to Jersey or perhaps one of the Spanish islands. I would like to visit Lake Garda in Italy, but my friend might like a somewhere a bit livlier!!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 16 Jul 2011 22:35

Hi all. Take back this flaming wet stuff. It is now bucketing down. OH and Spot have just left for their walk. Rocks in their heads, both of them. The ark would be a lovely idea. I will be able to relax on the voyage over there so I can party, party, party when I arrive.

Gardeneing report. The mandarin tree is groaning under the weight of its fruit. I'll catapult a couple of bucketsful over to you all. Open the windows. The capsicum is still fruiting, or is it vegetabling, and the strawberries have their first flowers. OH's orchids have four flower stems. These are the first orchid flowers he has ever grown. The buds are still not open and I have been warned not to try to pull them open to see what colour they are. OH said he will do bad things to me if I do.

The apricot and dwarf peach have lost all their leaves. The tulips are now well above the ground, the roses pruned back and the new frangipani sticks have almost lost their leaves. Yes this is attempt 25 at growing frangipanni, the last stick died.

It is amazing what is achieved in my garden without me ever having to get my hands dirty. As I said before I am a demolition and destruct gardener, once it is tidy, someone else can take over the fiddly bits.

YG Report 17 Jul 2011 08:25

Good grief Aunty! You could have claimed the title and the throne room last night!!

No sign of Maz!! Perhaps her frog has whisked her away somewhere! Are we getting excited girls ??? !!!!! ;-) ;-)

Lovely sunny day here at the moment. Don't know how long it will last, but a basketful of ironing sits waiting patiently, so I won't see much of itr!

YG Report 17 Jul 2011 08:59

Fascinators back in boxes girls, and no need to float the ark Aunty!!!

Anyway, I've been having a long, hard think about head gear for the celebration and am going to look for some perpendicular headdress in the same style as Princess Eugenie's or VB's at the royal wedding !!! LG could wear one in red & white!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Jul 2011 09:06

Morning all - glad you had a good outing Maz.....even though the Surprise wasn't quite what us Nutters were hoping for!!!!

The garden sounds lovely Aunty - OH must have green fingers, frangipane aside. Why doesn't he get a rooted one from a Nursery and see if that is more successful?

Our evening meal last night used only home grown veg - runner beans, courgettes and potatoes all harvested within the previous 24 hours. Reminder to self - don't bother trying to grow spuds any more...the yield is too poor for the effort :-0 The strawberries have finished now, but we did have a good crop off them for the first time in 5 years.

First load of BM's washing on, which will probably have to be dried in doors.

LaGooner Report 17 Jul 2011 09:33

Morning all, well the fascinator is back in the cupboard :-(. Glad you enjoyed yourself though Maz. I am trying to get the motivation to start the washing etc but a second cup of the caffeinne is in order.

I have fresh grown runner beans too later and i do agrre with you about the potatoes so I have given that space over to peas and courgettes. Looks as though we are going to have a bumper crop of tomatoes this year and the cucumbers are doing well too. Very helpful for my diet :-D
