Have you heard about our carbon tax. Don't ask me to explain. The government says most of us will be better off but some will pay a bit extra. Guess which category we fall into. Truthfully I haven't spent enough time working out exactly what the impact will be. Wouldn't make any difference if I did, the prices will still go up, and up, and up.

Morning Aunty, well if you don't pay out for Carbon Tax the government would no doubt find you some other way to lighten your purses and wallets

I sm not too bad, thanks, LG. Counting down now to the hols. Can't wait to get away from the office for two weeks!

I finish work on 29th. Eight more working days!! Oooh I'm excited!!

I gotta go now LG!! Am up at 6am and need as much beauty sleep as I can get!!

Carbon tax? A money raising scheme by another name for the Exchequer - bet the majority of it won't make it to research/develop other means of energy.

There are grants available to help off set the cost of solar panels - but energy companies pay you less per unit which you feed into the grid, than they charge you to use theirs. :-(

Evening DET. Don't mention solar panels. Bloomin eyesore :-( :-(. My friend had them installed and she does not think much to them either.

Doesn't your friends solar panels save her money off the bills then?

No more Guiding only a planning meeting tomorrow to get it out of the way. My friend has not seen any significant difference to her bills

How long has she had them? We had a really cold winter don't forget - depends if it was just for hot water, I suppose.

Some houses round here have them, but as we don't live opposite, we don't see them - they look more like velux windows/skylights to me when I've craned my neck!

Logging off now - hope aunty doesn't sew herself to the curtains during the day (didn't she do that last time???)

morning all 2 more days of school ,
I have about three days in on relief I think so will enjoy that I have some jobs to do here as well as catching up with folk
I do like sewing however i am not patient and want it all done yesterday .

Re Solar panels. I do not give a continental sausage what they look like. When I receive my electricity bill and it says -$65 (yes minus) which means they owe me the money, I thank goodness we have them.

We keep hearing stories about how the rebates are falling but I have no complaints about not having another bill to pay. And as for "getting our money back", don't much care if that takes a few years, it enhances the value of our house, which will benefit the kids when we "go" . Wish we had brought more, but that is being greedy.

Finished the curtains. Only took four hours, well four and a half after is wasted the extra time persuading the sewing machine to work. Needed copious quantities of WD40 sprayed on its insides to unglue it. Blondie is mightily pleased which is just as well.

Morning all - enjoy your last few days at work Maz, as much as you can. Now that the Iceberg knows that you will be working fewer hours next term, she ought to have thawed out a bit. Maybe? Perhaps?

Aunty has been industrious - it would have taken me days - no staying power - lol sounds as if that machine needs a service. And don't let OH at it.....you'll probably end up with a few screws left over and the tension all wrong. :-0
