Morning all, just a quick look in before going to Tumble Tots with the littlies. Last one for this term so I will get Wednesday morning free for a few weeks. I will miss it though because I love sitting watching them hurtling about having fun.

I did some food shopping yesterday but didn't get it all because I had to go to the school. I'll have to go out later and get the rest.

I've had some curtain material sitting here for ages, in fact it's dusty now. Just can't motivate myself to get them done.

This weather is looking a bit like it was last year when I met up with Maz, hope it's not going to be the same again this year.

REceived an email about this site. It has been around for a while but if ou have rellies you can not find give it a go. It is a slowly slowly long term venture.

http://www.onlinenames.net.au/

There is also another site called Emigrants

http://www.emigrants.net.au/

That is where you can put the names of ships you are searching for, and passengers.

OH wouldn't dare go near my sewing machine. Anyway at the time of my problems he was up on the roof maintaining the air con thingy. I went outside and asked him how long he would be, he asked why, and I said so I know how long I have to worry about you. He nearly fell off the roof laughing.

Evening all!!

Aunty, sounds like your OH has a sense of humour, anyway!! Pleased the curtains are done. Sewing is definitely not my scene, unfortunately!! I remember Mum sewing a dress for me once and became distracted. She machined through her thumb!! i think the strongest words she used were 'damn and blast'!!

LG, why didn't you do some tumbling with the littlies!!!! I would have loved to see it!!

Did you enjoy the food shopping DET!! And the rising costs!! You can do mine too if you like. I hate the supermarket.

Maz, sitting in a coffee shop all day long will suit me fine!! Not so sure my foot would like it very much, but I will tell it to behave!!

There have been dark clouds lurking for the last couple of hours and now it is absolutely pelting down. There are amber warnings out for our area from the Met office. But, my tomatoes will be loving it!!

Evening all, Hope you are all ok. SHOPPING!!!! eeeekkk I hate it hence I order mine online and have it delivered it costs me less in time and in diesel. :-D Oh and of course I don't have to haul it into the house down a very long path

YG

YG Report 20 Jul 2011 20:49

Evening LG. Do you get good dates on your fresh foods? I always pick from the back of the shelves when I'm shopping to get the longest dates!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 20 Jul 2011 21:18

EveningYG. yes I have had no problem with dates. The only thing I don't buy online is meat as with 2 butchers in the family I have no need to :-D

AuntySherlock Report 20 Jul 2011 21:28

Very interesting shopping on l ine and having it delivered. Never thought about that. I do buy somethings on l ine includin my printer cartridges because they are half price. I also buy books sometimes and OHs magazine subscription.

I like less than ten minutes walk from a large shopping centre. I can drive there in 2 minutes. Yes I still have to walk around and buy the groceries but that really does not bother me. I do one shopping on the weekend and OH goes down and tops up the supplies (or buys the things I have forgotten) in the middle of the week. He likes to shop in the Asian shop a little further away from the shopping centre. We particularly like their meat, it is nicer and less expensive than supermarket meat, which was a surprise.

And yes I am a great "picker from the back of the shelf" also.

Freezing cold this morning will be a nice day top of about 15 degrees. I am going down to work work to prepare for next week.

YG Report 20 Jul 2011 21:30

I keep thinking about going online but never seem to get round to it!!

Well it's a dark, wet depressing evening tonight/ Just like a winter evening. I have resisted putting the heating on though!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 20 Jul 2011 21:40

It suits us seeing as we are both past our sell by date and certainly would not pass our MOTs :-D :-D :-D. My nearest supermarket is 2 miles away but it is not where I like to shop (M*****ns) I prefer A**a and that is about 5 miles away and also a pain to park it is always busy. I do go in during the week for odd bits and pieces as OH's bank is in the same town

YG

YG Report 20 Jul 2011 21:49

I'm past my sell by date too!! I pop in and out of A**a during the week as it is near to work, but hate it on Saturdays!! Full of kids tearing up and down the aisles so I stick with Sains**. It is about 4 miles away, but M****ns is at the other end of town and a pain in the backside to get too. Not keen on them anyway, as heard bad reports of how they treat their staff!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 20 Jul 2011 21:59

I've been shopping at my centre for over 20 years. Yes we do go elsewhere occasionally but closer is quicker.

Oh dear!! Aunty has just gone to the cupboard, taken out a coffee mug, opened her packet of breakfast oats, tipped them into the cup, added the milk....... and then stood there like an idiot wondering why she never used a bowl.

Aged brains can not cope with more than one thought simultaneously!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 20 Jul 2011 22:00

YG

YG Report 20 Jul 2011 22:01

You are past your sell by date as well, Aunty!! I thought there was only me that did things like that!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 20 Jul 2011 22:08

I've made a cup of coffee without coffee in it before now :-D
