AuntySherlock Report 4 Aug 2011 22:24

Morning all. Received some photos of two perfectly normal ladies out on the town for the day. Not a bottle of red or a fireman in view. Thank you Pauline.

Cold wet and miserable here. I have been wrapping birthday gifts for the grandson so I am now running late. I will be back again this evening. No footy this weekend as my team plays away. Only five more games in the home and away series and then no more footy until next year because we won't make the finals.

No activity on the mouse bulletin. I wonder if the cold weather has put it into hibernation.

RockyMountainShy Report 4 Aug 2011 23:22

Hey I got those photos too! They do look normal, that is just a disguise I presume. Identical purses to confuse people too.

One of them blends in with the flowers too! :-0

Morning all, lovely and sunny here at the moment. Typical as we have to visit the hospital today for OH's eye check. :-(

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Aug 2011 09:03

My, haven't you been quiet for the last 12 hours or so! All this chat about the weather and not a lot else. ;-)

The bulletin from darn suff - chucked it down yesterday which means the water butts have been refilled, and a promised dry one today. Just as well as I shall be a lady wot lunches and we can hopefully sit out in the pub garden. OH has offered to be the taxi diver, so who knows what state we will be in when its chucking out time :-D

PC is having problems again (which is why she is named Problem Child) She feels she is being victimised by the manager of the 'sister' ward, and its getting to the point where she hates going into work. Eldest and a friend with a law degree have spoken to her, and she may have grounds for an official grievance, not that it would help if she went for a promotion at that place - whistle blowers and all that. :-(

Anyway - have a good day, and hope the hospital visit goes OK. I did wonder who did the driving when LG and OH went away!

The mouse has possibly decided that the pickings aren't as good as they were at first, or perhaps the native wild life has caught up with it. What will AS do with no footie for X months???

DET, sounds like PC is having similar problems to Maz, it must be horrible working with someone who's making your life a misery. I hope she finds a way to sort it out without making herself look bad.

I was thinking the same thing about the mouse............. perhaps it's gone looking for something a bit tastier.

Hope the checkup goes OK LG.

hi there Hope PC gets sorted DET its awful well its a lovely day four loads of washing dry to prove it lol
Froggy and I are sorting through the units in my room we are clearing clutter and making some shelves in my wardrobes which I inherited from relations they are really useful but were fitted in someone elses house around a chimney breast therefore the shelves dont give full depth storage over the years I have managed but now i am doing the stuff properly some of the matching drawer units are broken so we are recycling the carcuses board to use to make fitting shelves .
so i have been helping with the bits while froggy is now cutting and fitting them chores an admin done

Boo from a lovely sunny Yorkshire!!

I have really notched up a couple of gears today. Had to meet girls from work this morning, just for an hour to say a 'farewell' to the youngest team member who is moving into another office about 10 yards from us lol!!! It only took a couple of hours, so came home, changed into rags again and carried on with the weeding!! All done now, and some windows cleaned! Chilling out tonight, ready for the onslaught of more unmentionables tomorrow!!

LG is driving, so don't go anywhere near where she is holidaying!!!

DET, hope your PC gets work sorted out. There is nothing worse than having to drag yourself in every day.

Maz, keep frog working hard!!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Aug 2011 18:27

My, what busy bees you have been. That Frog is a treasure; hang on to him ;-)

Glad the gardening is progressing well - YG as been lucky with the weather so far, for her holiday. Are you going away with your friend, or is that later in the year?

PC slightly happier this evening - her own line manger is supportive of her over the cause she is being singled out for - the other manager is trying to implement a policy before it has been ironed out and ratified. But X is only trying to impose it on PC, rather than anyone else. As X normally speaks to her in 'public', if she does it again, PC is going to tell her not to single her out, on pains of launching a grievance procedure. :-0

Any way - we had a good 2 hours sitting in the pub garden over a panini and (one) glass of wine and both got a red face cos of the sun!

Evening all, well the check up went ok. Then while he was seeing the Opthalmist someone cancelled their surgery so they offered the op to him for his other eye. Well to cut a long story short our 1 and a half hour visit turned into 5 hour visit and I am now living with a pirate with a patch over one eye LOL

I will read the posts on here now to catch up with the days news :-D

Another very busy day tomorrow too LG!! But I have had a couple of lazyish days in between!!

Hope your OH has a comfortable night.

LaGooner Report 5 Aug 2011 21:40

Thanks YG he is flaked out on sofa at the moment with understandably quite a bit of discomfort.

I might get the mower out tomorrow and whizz them over quick as OH probably won't want to do too much if he feels like he did with the other one.

AuntySherlock Report 5 Aug 2011 22:07

Morning all. Flaming freezing cold and wet here. The mouse has packed its bags and is heading oop norf to warmer climes.

Found a web site where you can search for rellies who served in India.

http://www.new.fibis.org/

Had a bit of a look. If you drill down through some of the options there is quite a lot of information.

Would it not be easier for Maz and Frog to consolidate their establishments. Aunty rummages through drawer for fascinator and high heels.

OHs foot/leg is improving, he now appears to be walking more easily. The tree is still full of mandarins. By the way for the first time in about 20 years we have orchids flowering. OH has been obeying the instructions of one of the dog walking group, who grows orchids. We have two flowers with small pink and purple flowers, and one with the large yellow and purple flowers. They are very pretty.

Hi RMS. You haven't retrieved your newspaper article yet have you!! I must see if it is available from where I am. It is very easy to retrieve such info, providing they have it.

I'm off. Busy day ahead. Don't ask where I am going. OH is not happy either but when I'm busy, it must be done.

WAKEY WAKEY NUT LODGERS!!!!

LG is running round with her nurses uniform on. Hope your OH had a good night and is feeling a bit brighter today, You need to change into your chauffeur's uniform soon, so don't forget the peaked cap!!

Have a lovely holiday and relax!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Aug 2011 08:45

I'm up and have been catching up on the news.

That hurt ankle must have been quite debilitating if he is still hobbling- glad to hear it is improving. How about the Blond one picking the mandarins in exchange for all the work you have done for her. And you aren't going into work, work, are you?? And congratulations on the flowering orchids!!!

Must have been a surprise for LG's OH to have his eye op sprung on him - but as least he didn't have time to get nervous :-).l Hope it doesn't spoil the next part of adventures away from home.

YG - OH is moaning that he meant to cut the grass today as well, but the forecast is for showers. Not raining as yet, but he is still at slumber and I don't 'do' mowing in case it puts my back out. [good excuse that one!]

Oooooh, do we have a blood link on this thread?

LG, that must have been quite a shock for you both........... going for his checkup and having surgery while he was there. Like DET said though, it didn't give him time to worry about it, or even think about it....... job done. Hope he's feeling a bit better today.

It's just come in very dark here, I can hardly see. Oh my God it's stotting down now, coming down in sheets. It's hitting the roof so hard that it sounds like hail. Hmm, good start to the first day of our holidays.
