If you need anything killing off, just leave it to me - had to throw out 3 of the tomato plants because of the mildew, and cut off loads of foliage from the others in the hope of saving them. Don't know why I bothered as there are very few fruits. :-(

I'll join.

I buy a plant and take it home and OH says. Oh no does that plant realise it will be dead very soon, and other such terrible remarks about plants committing suicide because I have bought them.

He is right. Of the last two plants I bought, one has almost turned up its roots and he has put it outside for recuperation. The other one is hanging on by a leaf. Well it is a very difficult plant to kill but I'm doing my best.

Watch out LG - splatter paint on its way. We can all have our favourite colours so everyone is happy :-D

Well done Maz with your progress - we're still thinking about it! Sounds as if YG needs a holiday to get over the holiday, bit at least by waiting until you were back to shift everything around, you know where things are.

We went and saw Harry Potter at the Pictures late this afternoon and had good seats with our cheap Tuesday discount cards :-D :-D

For the Black Finger club - the tomatoes have had it :-0 :-(

Hello playmates.

Ive four generations of anscestors on both my Mother's and Father's side of my tree.
Apart from my parents and my grandfather I don't know any of their death dates.

How can I put their dates in to search when I don't know when they died?

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Aug 2011 10:51

Hello David, welcome to the Nut House :-D

I don't think any of us have a record search sub for this site, we tend to use other ones or freebmd for England and Wales

Try searching

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

for deaths which cover 1837-c1950 which ought to cover your time frame
You hopefully know their full names and when you lost sight of them. Remember that the wife would be registered under her married name. You can probably narrow down results by selecting a county, unless they were part of Aunty's Circus clan ;-)

Deaths in Scotland will be on Scotlandspeople. Can't help with Ireland as none of my mob ventured there.

You'd have to order the DC using the references numbers you find, to get the exact dod. For England and Wales ones, do this from https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro. For Scotlandspeople site you pay and download from the site. You might get lucky and find free transcribed burial records, which would give a closer approximation of the DOD. The dates given on those are usually the burial dates

You could start a thread on 'Find Ancestors'. Give as much info as you can for the missing rellies - full name, date or year of birth, where last seen (inc county) and possibly the last census you have on them. Include the year if they fathered/bore a known child after going missing from census.
In the case of a male, say if a marriage cert of a child has 'deceased' against the fathers name - that would help narrow the time frame.

If they are likely to have died pre Sep 1837, you are back to Parish Records - try familysearch, freereg or just google parish records and the likely area or county.

Good luck, and drop by any time ;-)
