LaGooner Report 19 Aug 2011 10:08

We found we had that problem when we had the plastic greenhouse. OH bought me the glass one about 5 years ago now and as long as the door and the top window are open we dont seem to have any problems. I just buy a couple of plants from the garden center usually one large salad type and 1 cherry or baby plum one and they do us ok. I do the same with the cucumber plant but my friend usually gives me a couple of courgette plants as she always grows too many. I need to go and pick off the runner bean pods that I have left for seed and get them dried off ready for next year. Oh will only have Scarlet Emperor so I have to make sure I keep some seed back as the old breed are hard to come by now.

YG

YG Report 19 Aug 2011 18:09

Evening everyone. Sorry you are not feeling great LG. I have every sympathy!!! Just getting over mine, although still a bit 'heady' and snuffly.

Pleased to say that my neighbour came out of hospital on Tuesday. I saw her yesterday for the first time. She is still not very good, but I hope she picks up now that she is home. She is resting a lot more now so I don't see her in the garden as often, but hopefully will catch her this weekend to see if she has improved a bit.

Thank you AS and Detective for your reply to my tree query.

Problem(?) How do you find the death date when you don't know when the individuals died,not even approximately.

LaGooner Report 19 Aug 2011 18:17

That is good news about your neighbour YG. I hope she recovers well. Just heard from H smallest Gooner has cut her head open so this is her 3rd trip to A and E :-0. Not to drastic by the sound of it but it could need a stitch. Better than her 2 previous visits which were both for swallowed coins :-S

Mazfromnorf Report 19 Aug 2011 19:58

YG Report 19 Aug 2011 20:15

Is she a tomboy LG!!

I did manage to avoid any broken bones with R, but we had several trips to A&E too!! And some heavy dentistry and an overnight stay in hospital into the bargain!!

But >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> where would we be without them lol!! :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 19 Aug 2011 20:17

Lol at littlest gooner swallowing coins. What does she think she is? A money box? :-D She should have grown out of the put anything in your mouth stage by now. Hope the sore head isn't too sore - it must have been worrying for her parents.

Pleased to hear YG's neighbour is home again. A good excuse for you to bake a cake and go round to visit.
I quite like poking around charity shops, but usually come out with books, not clothes ;-)

Hope you had a chance to veg in the garden today LG, or at the very least have a cat nap in doors.

LaGooner Report 19 Aug 2011 20:35

Littlist Gooner is fine. Just a good bump and a cut just on the hairline. She is a tomboy indeed YG just like her Mummy was :-D. I did catnap indoors DET as the 2 little lads next door were out on their trampoline. What a racket but bless them they were having such good fun I suspect they were shunted off into the garden as their Mum had a new baby yesterday and probably needed some rest.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 19 Aug 2011 20:43

Ooo a summer baby - I bet the new mum is pleased to get the weight off her feet.

David - hi again- presumably you know approx when your missing relatives were born. You have to look at the declared age on the death indices and work backwards. Sometimes it takes a leap of faith, or an awful lot of money spent on purchasing them. Weren't early Irish records pre 1920 or something, destroyed in the Rebellion? You may have to rely on PR

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 19 Aug 2011 20:45

Mum was huge and certainly glad to offload her LOL. They have called her Summer :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 19 Aug 2011 20:48

Hmm - well, I suppose its no different to December babies being called Holly or Noel. What happened to 'ordinary' names?? :-)

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 19 Aug 2011 21:10

That is better than some :-0. There are some really weird ones about. Mine have ordinary names but spelt in an unusual way just to be different :-D
