Morning all. Fine day top 18 forecast here. Bit chilly right now but it will warm up, or else!!

How many beasties have we caught. Just the one so far and no obnoxious smells coming from anywhere in the house. Well apart from Spot but we won't go there.

Very bravely went and took a look at the smorgasbord I left for the critters. No evidence of eating, no furry bodies, and no little black specks. Hmm interesting, wonder if the second mouse packed up and left after the first mouse choofed off to its great reward.

Whoops OH and Spot have just come back from morning walks. OH went past the washing machine in the laundry, pointed to it and said, "finished". I think that is an indication I am required to hang the washing out on the line. Hold on a moment while I do so, after I hit him with the broom for being cheeky!!

David Report 20 Aug 2011 08:13

I had heard of that loss due to fire Detective.

Yet the gospels of Matthew and Luke list the geaneology of Jesus all the way back to King David and beyond.
Written many years years after the Romans has torched Jerusalem.

morning all David i have read those pages many times when a reading containing them have been requested at church it was always me that got the long words
am back now sat waiting for phone to ring lol or sim arrive

David

David Report 20 Aug 2011 09:30

I once asked why trace the geneaology through Joseph's lineage if Joseph wasn't the Father.

The reply I was given was that Joseph was the Father in Law adoptive Father.his lineage to go back throgh King David psalmist.
Mary's lineage to go back to Adam, son of of God.

Morning all

The genealogy of Christ might well be a myth, or based on oral history. I could get back to God on my line via Richard Plantagenet if I could find the missing link :-D

Hope the phone gets sorted out and A gets back tonight in a happy mood. Enjoy your day with the washing. AS might hang it out for you ;-)

Aunty, you can borrow my broom to whack OH over the head with. When mine was redundant some 20 years ago, I was the sole breadwinner. He used to proudly tell me he had put the vac round. What did he expect? A medal?

Jolly good! Hope they aren't charging you for the call.

PC is being a P C again- she was supposed to be coming back from a UK holiday yesterday but hasn't appeared. She might be round the boyfriends, I suppose. Although she is an adult, I do wish she would let us know her plans while she lives under our roof. :-(

AuntySherlock Report 21 Aug 2011 00:30

Morning all and a warning. I am sitting here sneezing. Someone is going to be deeply in the mire for sending viruses. I hope it is only pre-spring hayfever.

The best place for a mobile phone is in the bin!! I know you all have ten thousand reasons why you need one. I have no reasons why I need one, don't have one, don't miss it and it costs me nothing. I know stupid as... but it works for me.

Suggested to OH, who by the way took the washing off the line, we might like to remove one of the mouse traps. He said no, not yet, because it was working. Noticing my strange glance he continued, "I dropped the remote control, lent down to pick it up and snap!! finger stuck in mouse trap beside my chair." I worry about him sometimes!!!

Iris's are blooming, dwarf peach in full blossom, tomato plants in and starting to move, tulips well above ground and roses pruned and sprouting. And I didn't touch one of them.

Morning all, A and I have one thing in common today then Maz, both our teams are losers :-(. LOL. Still things may improve (but I still love them <3). Just sitting here waking up to the world with my coffee before starting the days chores.
I don't always bother switching my mobile on unless I am going out and about, not cos of the cost but because I forget :-D. OH and I get a really good cheap package with my broadband supplier.

EDIT. As I am now awake I am off to start the dreaded. Have a good day one and all <3

Morning all

LG is like me - have a mobile but rarely use it! But it is useful if out and about and the car breaks down. V occasionally a service provider either stops us in the street or rings the house phone and tries to get us/me to swap, as 'we can under cut any deal'. Oh yer? Try £10 per year, which is about the amount that gets 'topped up' on it!

Using the dreaded thing, I sent a text to PC. It meant to say 'R U back in (the county)', but couldn't remember were the space bar was. It got sent with only 'R'. :-0 At least she is used to my gaffs and did reply - back today in time for dinner. Still not sure where she is, but at least she is alive.
(I'd love to see her face when she gets my one letter texts - is it received with hilarity or exasperation?)

Hope you sufferers can keep the virus the other side of the screen - and Aunty, think you are quite right to wonder about OH :-D

Hi All, Spent most of the day sewing my costume for this year's book week. I have been sneaky and reused the costume from my girl's trip last year. A few modifications and I will be enough to scare the daylights out of any 7 year old.

After sewing, doing some work work, and supervising OH while he cooked his bread, it has been quite a busy day. Lovely weather, about 18 degrees.

Noticed the red and white spotted team did not fare too well. Are they missing whatshisface already. Nevermind early days yet there is still room for improvement. May I uggest a change of coach. Did wonders for my team.

Ready for the start of another exciting week lol!! We do have the advantage of a bank holiday though at the end of the week! yeahhhh!!!!

AuntySherlock Report 21 Aug 2011 21:57

Morning all. Week of sunshine forecast here. OH has put the orchid pots back under the shade so it must be warming up.

I have another microfilm readidng evening on Wednesday. Hopefully I will be able to finish the 2nd reel and start the third. I have been checking for the names you lot have given me but no luck so far.

I did however find the birth of Frederick William Head, parents Henry and Louise on 11 Mar 1864. Also the baptism of a Louise Head, mother Emily in 1908. Wonder if these belong to Maz. Area South Newton Wiltshire.

There were some Pomeroys but no Powneys. Well not so far.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Aug 2011 23:21

Well, I've been sitting in the garden with my cardigan off! Hope that wasn't the Indian Summer, because we haven't really had a prolonged proper summer just yet.

Is there truly a bank holiday next weekend? Oh gawd, is it nearly the end of August? :-0 Aunty, is your spare bed booked for the end of October? Really fancy somewhere warm - perhaps next year. ;-)

What book will you be reading AS - perhaps we can have guesses at your illustrative costume :-D

PC came home this evening. Apparently they cut short their break by one day and were back in the area on Thursday evening. Long story, but it still doesn't excuse her deficiency in letting us know.

When I was able to sneak on to the PC, I came across a DC attached to one of the WW1 pension records - so it you have access, its well worth trawling through all the images :-D :-D
