Its difficult to know where to end, isn't it? You start off with the direct line, then explore the descendants of the great aunts/uncles, matching and dispatching them in to the next 20thC generation.....then those of the grt grt aunts/uncles and before you know it.............you've grown a forest! :-D

Ah Ha! No wonder I woke up early - no one making a noise in the throne room! If its too quiet, you start to wonder what mischief is going on ;-)

Morning all - we hope to go clothes shopping today, for the wedding outfit. And no, fascinators are not on the list! Wish me luck. :-)

Morning all. DET my forest is bigger than the New Forest methinks. It is proving interesting though as I seem to be interlinking about 8 different families over several generations fro about 4 different close villages(Wiltshire lot this is) . I am also turning up some mighty good Christian names that are making OH and I laugh !! :-D. Poor kids lucky it is not in this day and age cos they wouldn't alf at the p taken out of them at school .

Good luck with the shopping hope you find something that could double up with a fascinator for you know who ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D

Morning LG :-) Have you thought of making a one name study, if you've more or less exhausted your direct lines? And I agree, it is fascinating tracing those in the near neighbourhood - I've tended to do that with my Isle of Sheppey mob - they ended up intermarrying or working for each other.

BM grasped the problem I have with writing up/printing out the direct line - 32 grandparents in 4 generations, and then there is their siblings lines. That's my side, and of course its the same with OH's. Had a panic yesterday as I'd lost a memory stick with all the scanned/received photos :-0 :-( But we found it and OH is suggesting backing up to a master disc - anything to keep the wife happy :-D I think he has a digital vault account somewhere, which is another alternative.

Must away and get OH up, and dressed. Catch you later.

Afternoon all. I have started a one name study on my Paternal grandmothers side (Wilts) and thinking about doing the dreaded Meashams(Derbyshire) :-D . I do hope Derek doesn't look in and see this as they give him nightmares ;-).

I have just come in from the garden and have been out there most of the day, besides coffee with Yidarmylass a couple of times that is.

Poor little thread was at the bottom of page 2, can't have that!

Sound like we're all the same with our trees, I get so carried away with mine that I can't find my way out of the woods at times.

Edit;

Well, it was at the bottom of page 2 when I started typing but LG beat me to it................ you must type faster than me LG.... :-D :-D

How absolutely infuriating for you Maz. And you had high hopes for the completed refurb. could the Project Manager take responsibility of giving them access when they dain to appear?

Shopping trip was successful - black and white checked thigh length jacket, red knee length skirt which is suppose to be a mini, but only if you are a 5ft 11in model, and a round neck blouse in off white. :-D :-D

Then we went to the local new build school open day. Having worked there full time for 13 years, and 3 years as a casual, I know all the 'Principals' from when they were NQTs, so was able to chat to them almost as equals. It's very impressive, but I still not sure about the open teaching areas, or the 60 student classes. And they have pigeons roosting in the ceiling from when the building didn't have windows!

Maz, you need to get tough and start making demands, it should have been sorted out long ago.

The new outfit sounds very nice DET.............. when I read 'red knee length' I thought you were going to say boots! Don't know why I thought that............. just got the picture in my head. :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 31 Aug 2011 20:05
