YG Report 2 Sep 2011 22:23

Ooh, I hope you didn't hurt yourself LG!!

I am ok thank you. Been busy surfing again looking for this bloomin' holiday!! My friend is back home from a week in Spain so she is coming tomorrow morning so that we can book something and then go into town shopping!!

Need my sleep now so am off to bed! I don't know how you and DET stay up so late! My eyes are closing!!

LaGooner Report 2 Sep 2011 22:40

My lad was complaining last week that he could not get any bargains re last minute flights. They ended up in Yorkshire but had a really good time nevertheless. Hope you and your friend manage to get something sorted.

Guess what our temperature was yesterday!!!

26 degrees C

Guess what our temperature will be today!!

27 degrees C

Guess what our temperature will be tomorrow!!

17 degrees C

Well you can't win them all, and it is only the third day of Spring.

Spring is sprung,
The grass is ris.
I wonder where,
The blowflies is!!

You lot have three more days to chat with me, poke fun, at me, discuss the relative failings of your sporting teams, weather, and trees, then........

I am away from the computer for two weeks.

I need to spring clean my house in anticipation of a visit by OHs new found rellies. No the house is not a pigsty, merely in need of a good going over.

I might drop by and whinge and complain about things in general, but unless I remove myself from your scintillating company (and my stupid tree) for a while I simply will not get any unmentionable done.

So from Tuesday it is bye, bye Aunty.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 2 Sep 2011 23:50

We are supposed to have temperature of 23 degrees tomorrow :-D. We shall miss you Aunty so try and pop in and let us know how the clean is going. I really should be decorating and giving the place a good clean up but I keep finding much more interesting things to do

23 LG? Bah! We are supposed to be having 24! Our weather recording station is often the one mentioned for having achieved the highest UK temps. But its not a patch on Aunty's 26/7!!! You'll really feel the chill when it drops back to 17c.

LG is going to feel really lonely next week - Maz and YG at work, Aunty cleaning, dusting, polishing and buffing, and on Monday, we're off on our holidays :-D

The weather isn't going to be too good though - Tuesday cool, heavy rain and thunder, then showery the rest of the time :-0 :-0

If the new found rellies aren't staying, you only need worry about the public rooms ;-) Any particular reason for picking Tuesday to start your self-imposed exile?

morning all early start as we are off to the lakes today .just doing some washing before i go froggy and i have worked so hard i am hoping the forcast is not too bad its good here in the east but we are on a coach so we can see around us
was on a course all day yesterday

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 3 Sep 2011 07:14

Enjoy your coach trip Maz. Hope the weather is almost the same as ours. We have had a warmth, now the sky has clouded over thick black clouds with the threat of a downpour later this evening.

I picked Tuesday because I had things to do this weekend and blondie and I are going to the Show on Tuesday. I figured I could start Wednesday evening. The more I think about it the more I am scheming what not to do. Heavens I hate cleaning. Once I am stuck into it I will be fine. It is only the thought of starting.

Perhaps we could have the cleaning crew in to do over Nut Lodge while we are all away. Hands up who would like to supervise that job!!!

Enjoy the coach trip Maz and Frog- fingers crossed the weather stays fine for you. Do they sell sticks of rock to bring home??? If not, how about Kendal Mint Cake for a taste?

YG - not sure about LG, but normally I have no reason to get up at a certain time, and wake naturally after 7 or 8 hours sleep. Both of us can have a nap in the afternoon, if needs be.

Could Aunty's Spring be going the same as ours did? A few days of unusually warm weather, then a coolish damp summer. :-( If you can guarantee warmth and no rain, I'll hop on a plane and supervise the 2nd week of cleaning - it'll give me a chance to dry out :-D

Morning DET. I don't keep any particular hours we just go with the flow :- I will be quite busy myself next week getting things ready for the new term at Brownies and Rainbows :-\.
Enjoy your day Maz hope the weather is reasonable for you.

I hate cleaning too so don't look at me to clean Nutlodge whilst you are all off gadding about :-P. I think we could perhaps leave it dirty and move out to our new accomodation that we were planning. Really must chivvy the building works up :-D

Hi Maz - really pleased you had a good day out :-) Now to important matters. Did you bring back any of the mint cake ? :-D :-D

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 3 Sep 2011 22:09

Morning all. Rained last night. Not much but enough. Temperature today is down to 19C and more rain forecast for next week.

Looks like you are correct about the similar weather patterns.

What is mint cake??

My team lost last night. Thrashed by a team which will play in the finals. Footy season is now over for us and the top eight teams will play off against each other to see who plays in the grand final. My team has until March/April next year before the pre-season games start to rebuuild and practise a bit.

Evening/morning everyone.

Aunty, Kendal Mint Cake is a glucose based confectionary flavoured with peppermint. Originated from Kendal in the Lake District. Sounds as though DET might like it, but I don't!!

Pleased you had a good day Maz, you gad about!!

I have spent the day trawling travel agents and having lunch out, then hours pouring over the web this evening. We still haven't got anything. I am going boz eyed!

YG

Morning LG & Maz!

Of course I was up early lol!! I was going to go back to bed, but by the time I had made a cuppa and fed the cats I was wide awake!!

Needed to do a couple of things on the web and am now just having another cuppa before getting ready to do the food shopping. Oh joy!!

Maz, I hope you find something else soon. It's awful to feel unhappy about going to work.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Sep 2011 10:15

Morning all - I feel for you YG - you end up looking at so many holiday sites, you end up confused, and then when you do book something, you are worried that there might have been something better/cheaper around.

And you know? I've never actually eaten Kendal Mint Cake, but wanted a taster :-0 I do hope you can get another permanent job quickly Maz. In the meantime, don't make waves; do what you are paid to do and leave each day as soon as your are able.

Never mind the team losing Aunty - there is always next season.

PS for YG - I went to bed at 11pm last night. That's early for me :-D

Be back later after the ironing/packing/banking has been done.
