You could always send a request to him and say it's for a very good friend who would really appreciate seeing him in a fireman's uniform.

I liked his orange shirt best, not keen on red and white.

It's been horrible here all day, dark, cold and wet.

Well? What do you think? Kyran Bracken in his Prime. Pity he is going bald now :-0

That's him in his Saracen's top, BM's favourite team

Morning all -

Have you noticed Pauline, that the RU World Cup is on in NZ? If it were Football, the world and his wife would be bombarded with info ! But not with this, at least, not as far as I'm aware. :-(

LG - once you have your new shirt, try getting someone to take a picture, then photo-shop it into one with your idol. That will keep you out of trouble for a while :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 17 Sep 2011 09:52

Morning Maz. I use a drier on such occasions but I love to dry it on the line when I can as it feels and smells so much nicer. It's a bit cloudy here but dry thank goodness. A lazy day sounds good , no chance for me though as I have loads to catch up on after having the dreaded lurgy :-(

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Sep 2011 11:42

We have a washer/drier (saves space). The drier probably isn't effective as a stand alone version, and you can't use it if you have another load to wash!

Although most items (if too wet outside) are hung on an airer to dry in doors, I do use the drier facility for towels or denim as they take an age otherwise.

Mazfromnorf Report 17 Sep 2011 19:07

hi well its dry for a while here been wet nearly all day again ,and also chilly but washing is nearly dry as i have used the rads
I would use a dryer as a last resort as i do air alot of the stuff over doors and hangers some stuff dries really quickly

YG Report 17 Sep 2011 19:08

Evening everyone.

It's been a lovely day here, apart from one quick heavy shower, so I have got a lot of the weeding done. What a nightmare!! I don't know where they have all come from this year. Certainly loads more than the last couple of years! Still have a bit to do, but can catch up during the week after work if the weather allows.

I have a washer/drier too, DET and only tend to use mine for towels and jeans in the winter or when it is wet. I'm like LG, I love to have the washing on the line!

Mazfromnorf Report 17 Sep 2011 19:39

Woo Hoo! I'm the Killer Queen!!

Glad you two have had a productive day. And how sweet that Maz and Frog have been reliving memories - just like an old married couple ;-)

Do you think Aunty will come on overnight and tell us how she got on with her City to Bay walk?? DON'T POP THE BLISTERS!!! :-D :-D

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 18 Sep 2011 06:13

I do not have blisters!!! I am a little footsore and my legs and shoulders ache a bit. However, I achieved what I set out to do. Walked 12 kilometres. I am no quite certain of my time yet. I forgot to look at my watch as I passed the electronic start gate. I think it was around 8.45 am. I crossed the finish line at 10.42 am, therefore if my start estimation is correct I have also managed to do the distance in the two hours limit I set.

Well that's one job out of the way. No more walking, except to the cupboard to get a biscuit.

Hey LG do you have your difficult games out of the way. Only one win so far. Never mind there's always time for improvement, either that or a new coach might do the job.

I am off to rest some more. Will catch up later.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 18 Sep 2011 10:50

Well done Aunty! Even if you haven't broken the 2 hour target, it must be very close. One biscuit only as a reward, then lock the tin up again.
Eldest did the Bay to Breakers 'run' ie walk in San Francisco when she was out there, with some of her Weigh Watcher friends. She was dead chuffed to have completed it in flip flops!! One of the regular highlights was the team, who run the race against the stream in fancy dress of Salmon. They always got a cheer. I can't remember if she did it a 2nd time, or whether they had to return to the UK before the event.

Maz - you'll wear that washing machine out with the number of loads you do. There are 3 of us, and including bedding/towels, probably only have it on 4 or 5 times a week. Which reminds me - need to put the towels out while it is sunny.
