DET, how is your OH feeling today? Must have been a shock for you to see him faint, hope it was just a one-off.

Wonder how it went for Aunty.

Morning all!

Hope you get some more clothes sorted out YG. You could try some of the v large stores in a major shopping centre and see if they have a 'cruise' section. They'd probably be expensive though!!! P'mark would probably have T shirts and blouses; the youngsters seem to wear them all year.

As all had gone quiet on the neighbours front Maz, I thought they had already moved. If the dogs have been abandoned, or rarely visited, you could get the RSPCA involved. As long as the parties are only at the w/e, you can't really complain. Let's hope the landlord is a bit more careful about the next tenants to go in, and follows up the references. I bet s/he has a load of remedial work to do!!!

Aunty must be in the middle of her 3 line whip family meal. Fingers crossed all has gone well.

Sorry Pauline - missed that you had posted while I was typing. :-0

OH is OK at the moment - thanks for asking. He used to come over all funny if he'd done a lot of physically exertion - He has spurts of energy but not a lot of stamina lol - but has learnt to pace himself. We think this episode was a combination of being 'under the weather' and self medication mixed with the prescribed. He'll be carted off to the GP if he does it again in the next few months :-|

Afternoon all lovely breezy one here
three mishaps here lol all in th espace of an hour
1 i dropped a glass jar on floor in kitchen
2 cats were in the garden a dog grabbed the older one Andrew was outside at the time luckily so the old one is a bit sorry for himself but will keep an eye on him for a while he is 19 ,young one eventually came in
3 then was cleaning the oven and sliced my finger on a sharp edge lol
so i am going to just chill out now
The neighbours are up all night at weekends .with the RSPCA they are too busy but someone else has spoken to a vet as they are keeping their kids awake at night and the garden stinks of dog @@@
I hope Aunty is having a good time and spot is a good dog lol

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Sep 2011 18:04

Oh dear - poor Maz. At least you have had your spell of 3 :-D I really pity the landlord when the neighbours do eventually move out.

Glad YAL is coming along, PB won't know what has hit it, LOL .

We went out this afternoon as a favour to someone on this site. Had a nice stroll and stopped at a garden centre for coffee and cakes on the way home. That was his reward for being 'dragged' out. If I can tempt him with that again, we might go somewhere else FH related during the week :-D :-D

Sounds though you have had a pleasant afternoon DET. Good for you!

Maz, you are in the wars, but as DET says, things come in threes, so hopefully you will stay out of trouble now.

Talking of trouble!! I hope we're not all going to get locked up in PB!!! I think they had better send that helicopter LG!!

Been a busy girl doing unmentionables today and am just having a short break whilst dinner finishes cooking.

Temperatures for mid week 27degs!! Whoo hoo!! Hope it stays till the weekend and I can give the grass a last cut hopefully and clean the mower ready for winter storage!! One job less on the list for the coming months!

Glad you had the opportunity for a nap Maz. Take the opportunity when you can ;-)

YG - when we were at the Garden Centre, they were selling summer dresses off (not sure why Garden Centres sell clothes, but there you are) If you have an upmarket one in your area, might it be worth looking around for Cruise Clothes?

YG

YG Report 25 Sep 2011 18:53

No, I don't think we do DET. Not that sells clothes anyway! I am pondering over going to Meadowhall next Saturday on the train. I can use my bus pass for free travel and the train stops right alongside the mall. There is plenty to choose from there, so hopefully might get sorted!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 25 Sep 2011 19:27

Evening all. There are some good shops in PB so you might have luck there YG. is

I am glad the poor cat isok Maz, it can be a worry when they are knocking on a bit.

I have never heard of a garden centre selling clothes,well I never.

I have done loads of the h*******k today,all the washing,cut both lawns and had a freezer cook up to stock up with my 'diet' dinners. I use these if I am short of time to cook anything long winded for myself and also things the things OH won't eat

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Sep 2011 22:18

No you're not! :-P :-P Although you might be later. ;-)

Loads of the Garden Centres round here have clothing - wellie boots and padded waistcoats or sun hats/caps you can understand. They seem to be diversifying and have more non gardening stuff then they use to including posh frozen meals and jars of this and that. That's even before you start to consider the scented candles or indoor nick-nacks!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 25 Sep 2011 22:38

You must go to the posh ones as my good old common ones just sell me the plants etc I need. I always go to the small family business as I feel they need the support.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Sep 2011 22:51

I know where you are coming from LG. There is a commercial nursery near by which are a lot cheaper, if more limited in their stock, and what they sell is a better quality. We always go there for bedding plants at 2/3rds the price of the Centre.

The Centres are setting themselves up as an 'Afternoon Out', if that makes sense, and with more areas undercover, they need to fill it with things for the impulse shopper all year round. That's business for you!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 25 Sep 2011 22:55

I tend to not go in garden centres for afternoons out as I spend to much :-| :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Sep 2011 23:03

Impulse shopper then? Hmm? ;-) ;-) Put your hands firmly in your pockets, and don't touch the goods. That seems to work here lol
