Morning - don't worry AS, we'll have the wind and rain soon enough :-0 Does any one know where the 'snow in October' rumour originated?

Maz, wish someone would come and volunteer to mow our grass. Yes, we are almost at the point of making hay

A good day with the in-laws yesterday. They took us and sis-in-law out for a pub lunch where we were able to sit in the garden shade. Both being 86, they couldn't cope with the full sun and heat.

Washing on the line ( :-D ) and plants watered already today. We may be going out-out if we can decided where.

It is absolutely pouring here. Has been raining on and off all day and right now it is definitely on. Our sunny land is very wet and soggy.

I have had a piece of luck with my Mr Hill research. Evidently the Department of Veterans Affairs has a repatriation file on him. I have applied for access to it. Fingers crossed it contains a bit more info than, "orphaned early, parents unknown". And no, I am not holding my breath.

Officially on holidays so I can sleep in until 6.00 am tomorrow morning. Well, duh, it's Saturday anyway!!

afternoon it is reading 27degrees in the town centre ,we are having trouble with our clients they dont believe us when we say take your coat off ,you dont need it they say its autumn lol any way we have had two of the elderly ones near collapse with dehydration because the carers have not left sufficient fluids out ,and help the aged are out in town with bottled water for the shoppers .so if they have issues with confusion its even worse now poor things

YG Report 30 Sep 2011 18:03

Evening everyone.

Another glorious day! How I wish I had been at home, instead of sweltering in the office! Never mind, I now have two days to make the most of it!! Last grass cut and then hopefully clean the mower and say goodbye until next spring!!

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 30 Sep 2011 18:42

I cut the grass in october last year lol nearly into november

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 30 Sep 2011 18:58

Evening all

We're back from a trip to the seaside where we took out our picnic and chairs and sat and watched the ferries sailing into Dover :-D

We wanted to use our NT season ticket before it expires at midnight and chose a light house to visit. No direct vehicle access, so either park 2 miles away, or 1 mile away in the opposite direction. 2 miles to walk there and then the same back is a bit too far, but could we find footpath signs from the 1 mile end? Nope. Extremely cross.

But it was good day and we went visit Deal Castle before they close for the winter - a faulty smoke alarm went off and the fire engine turned up!!! Sorry YG, couldn't get a pic for you ;-)

We got stuck on the motorway on the way home with an at least 3 car fender bender, necessitating a disappearing act in the bushes :-( That'll teach me to drink too much coffee!

Maz, it is difficult persuading the elderly to drink enough - they are worried about having to go to the loo if nothing else. The in laws are like that; they probably have about 4 cups (not mugs) of tea/fluid a day and nothing after 6pm. :-(

Enjoy your week off, Aunty, but whats the betting you end up going into work?? Hope you have success with your Mr Hill. There was someone trying to recall who wanted help with George Hill - was that you?

Evening, it sounds as though you had a very enjoyable day DET. Like YG I was stuck in the office for most of the day :-|

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 1 Oct 2011 09:22

DET, you've got no excuse for not getting a pic for YG, you just didn't try hard enough. You should have fought your way to the front and asked them to smile and wave for the camera. As it was a false alarm they weren't busy anyway!!!

Don't think my fingers are working very well today, I think I've had to re-type every other word because of typos. Maybe it's my brain that's not working very well!!

LaGooner Report 1 Oct 2011 10:01

Brain ???? in my case that is a department I am sadly lacking in :-D :-D :-D. Morning Pauline, nice to see you <3

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Oct 2011 10:09

Morning all - perhaps you haven't had your 3rd cup of coffee/tea yet Pauline. At least you picked up any errors. :-)

OH is watching the England/Scotland WC Rugby on plus one. I watched up to half time before I got him up so am having to wait until he has caught up before rejoining him. But at least the ironing is done and a bit of a clean up in the kitchen. Can't get showered just yet as the washing machine is on; it robs the shower of cold water and its easy to get scalded!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 1 Oct 2011 10:13

Morrning DET I am sitting here sqeeky clean from my shower and waiting for OH to come down after his. We will then dash off into town to see if I can buy a new top to wear to Yidarmylass' birthday bash tonight. Should be 'lively' ;-).

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Oct 2011 10:17

Good luck with the shopping - when I have money to spend, I can never find anything that I like/consider good value/will wear again.

And if we hear of the riot squad being deployed, we know the party has got a bit *too* lively :-D :-D Have a good time and happy birthday to Yidarmylass. 21 again??? :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 1 Oct 2011 10:20

I will probably not find anything I like , I don't usually well not that I can afford anyway LOL. 21? ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) she wishes, although she is as lively as one.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Oct 2011 10:26

Lol @ in your dreams!

You might find something in the sales, and they're probably starting to stock party gear for the 'winter festival' [ ;-) for YG ]

Half time advert break nearly over, so best go hold the hankie box for OH - things aren't looking too good for England (haven't checked the full time score so it may all turn around)

Enjoy your day
