Hope LG is enjoying the party. Is it a lock-in?
Been sitting out in the garden for most of the day - our local weather station currently has the highest record temperature for the day at 29.9c :-D :-D

Morning all.
We have just returned to daylight saving. I absolutely dislike daylight saving. It is now 6.00 am and I have been awake since 5.00 am.
Spot refused to get out of bed. He is not very happy about being taken for his walk when he is usually sleeping.
Had lunch yesterday with the rellies. Lovely meal and good company. They returned to northern parts last night with the promise of another visit. We are now working on completing the family story, together. OH has decided he does not want any more new relatives because when we get together all we do is talk about "the family history". We all told him, not a chance, and that there was a strong possibility there was at least two more people to attach to our family.
The underdog team won our grand final yesterday. The better result if I can't have my team in the final game.
I changed my wardrobe over from winter to summer yesterday afternoon. Spent a lot of time in great frustration because my summer skirts and pants do not fit around my expanded girth.
Being an obstinate type and not willing to put up with the old age spread I am now officially on a healthy eating campaign. I will also be targetting the middle region for additional physical exercise. So in the next three months I wish to lose 5 kg overall, and a couple of (at least several) centimetres from around the middle.
I have a belt I could buckle last year. When I can again buckle it around my middle I will consider the task accomplished. Strewth I feel hungry already. Had a talk to OH last night and mentioned he needed to give me smaller portions for the evening meal.
OH rolled his eyes, and laughingly told me that he just knew it would be his fault I had put on too much weight over winter. He also said he was expecting a phone call from the coach of the losing grand final team, because that loss would probably be his fault as well.
Clever man, isn't he!!!
Our news reports and telling that the UK has had it's hottest day on record 29 degrees. Excuse me while I cover my mouth with my hand so you can't see me laughing. Let me know when the temp reaches 45. We can swap hot stories then. Surely that must just be for this summer, you have had previous recordings of over 30 degrees, have you not??? I seem to recall some of you melted last summer.

Morning all, well it's not that good really........... wet and dark.
So I take it you had a good time last night LG?
Belated birthday wishes to Yidarmylass.
Aunty, the temperature was a record for October, it's usually chilly in October. We sat sunbathing yesterday afternoon.
Your hubby sounds a bit like mine, he says I blame him for everything that goes wrong............ well, it's usually his fault anyway. :-)

Morning all - great news about the additional rellies AS. Are these close enough to OH that he is likely to be interested (and meet them if still living) ?
Ah, our weather ;-) We have such a unpredictable climate which is why the Brits always talk about it :-) As Pauline said, it is really warm for the time of year; it ought to be a good 10c cooler. Back to normality with a bang next week, although Pauline appears to be experiencing the change. I'd washed up all the worn-once-but-not-dirty summer clothes ready to pack away, and have had to get them dirty again!!
7kg is a lot to have put on in 6 months, or is that accumulated over several years? Slowly but surely is better than a crash diet. Mind you, I'm a bit like a pot calling a kettle black, who has to suck in her stomach to do up waistbands. :-( :-( It seems to have gone on since OH 'gave up work' 2 years ago and him sharing his nibbles. Portion control probably has something to do with it. Having got rid of 'Big' clothes, I'm determined not to replace them.
Glad you enjoyed the evening last night LG. Isn't there a local Derby with your team and YAL's this afternoon? I've just realised that the RU WC England v France 1/4 finals showing on TV when I want OH to take me to the Station next Sat. I may end up there terrible early, or a quick dash out at half time. At least if I get into London with plenty of time to spare, I can get breakfast 9 (at an inflated price)

I've put about 7kg on as well, but it's been going on for about a year now. I keep threatening to go back to the gym but then I always think of something else I'd rather do............ basically - I'd rather do anything else!!!

Afternoon everyone.
Sounds like you had a good time last night LG and nothing on the news about any trouble!! Well done!!
Well it's been pleasant here with some sunshine, but cloudier than yesterday. Looks like one more day of reasonable temperatures then back to earth with a bang!! Hope it stays dry next Saturday!! I don't mind the cold, but not keen on getting wet!!
Have just spent an interesting hour watching Steptoe spying on me from the pub across the road! He must think I am stupid if he thinks I can't see him! Good job I hadn't got a fireman here lol!!
Aunty, whilst your kilos are fast disappearing from around your waist, would you mind asking them to take mine with them as well!!! I don't do gyms!! Plenty of activity at home at weekends, but it's not working and I don't think I will be able to manage all the gardening next year!! :-D

You're not kidding Maz! That's twice I've seen him now. I don't know why he doesn't go to the pub nearest to him! Well, I know why really, but I feel as though I'm living in a goldfish bowl!!
I'm off for a soak now to ease the old limbs, then finish cooking dinner.
My feet will be up tonight and not just for chilling out. I have got my first hairy eight legged visitor and I am not happy!!!! If it makes a bee-line for me again tonight it will get a bad headache if I can catch it!! That's if I dare put my feet on the ground to chase it lol!! :-D

What a daft man! Have you thought of confronting him?? At the very least, he might buy you a drink.
Been a cracker of a day again, and I've finished my book after sitting in the garden all afternoon. Now we're still trying to come up with an idea for dinner.
Off to rummage in the fridge.

Glad you've got a bit more work today Maz.
Do you think YG was marooned on her settee last night while being menaced by arachnids? There is one on the living room wall about 7cm in diameter - hopefully OH can reach it dispose of it when he gets up. PC will have hysterics if she sees it!!

I am absolutely fuming. I just typed a fair amount of sentences and have lost the lot because my internet decided to disconnect itself as I clicked on submit. I now have to retype it again and I am dashed if I can remember what I said.
Let me see. I have managed to stay on the healthy eating for almost three whole days now. Have also decided not to eat between meals. I figured after three months my brain will be brain washed into believing it does not need the extra food. I have not gained many kilos, it has redistributed itself around my middle. I did suggest to OH that I might be thinner when the baby was born. He looked at me and rolled his eyes and muttered something about, creative excuses and divine intervention or something!!
I thought I had told you how to catch spiders??? Only the good ones of course. The red backs are deaded and the daddy long legs sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. For the hairy huntsman spiders it is best to use a kid's toy bug catcher. If you don't have one, use a wide brim glass and a piece of cardboard. Put the glass over the spider then slide the cardboard underneath. Take the glass and its cardboard lid over the spider, out to the garden and shake out the spider. If you are worried about it running up your arm, put the glass on the ground and run away.
OH says it is a waste of time because the spiders usually beat us back into the house.
The weather has been mild and sunny here for a day or two. We are expecting rain to return tomorrow evening. Our apricot tree is apricotting, the strawberry plants are covered in strawberries, the little peach tree looks really peachy and the rhubarb is still very yucky.
Tomorrow I am off on a shopping expedition. My reward for the holidays, or for surviving until the holidays. And no I do not intend to buy larger size clothing. I need new towels, gym pants and firm holding undergarments which will prevent my floppy bits from flopping when I exercise.
I'm not silly....... I copied that bit into a word document, just in case.
I noticed the red and whiters have bit the dust again. Really LG you will have to feed them Aussie meat pies and beer. It worked last time if I remember correctly.
The new rellies we are chasing are OHs half brother, same mother, different father, and OHs sister's child by her first marriage, ie another niece. I am seriously lacking enthusiasm in family history right now. I have so much to catch up on. Think I'd better set aside a day or two of these holidays and at least file things back in order again.
Yes Maz, daylight saving is when we put our clocks forward an hour. Even though my clock says 9.10 pm it is really only 8.10 pm. Some strange people think it’s good to have more daylight in the evening. I just reckon more daylight fades the curtains faster. We have to put up with it until next April.
