Morning all - Good to see RMS back again, but sorry to hear that you are under the weather. What have you done to wear out 2 doctors?? Hope you can find a dentist you trust. With modern techniques, although treatment can be uncomfortable, there really isn't any pain.

How good of A to take on the Sparks. By keeping it in the family, you can easily step into the breach if he has to work that evening. And they say the youth of today are selfish and self centred? At least he has a community spirit about him even if you may get a little cross with him at home.

Enjoy your time with Frog. What jobs have you got lined up for him today? ;-)

PB is expecting light rain and 16c on Saturday. Grr.

RMS, don't take any notice of DET................ she's telling you lies. :-) :-) I was at the dentist 6 months ago and she definitely caused me pain.......... and I was only there for a check-up.

Think you need to start looking for a younger doctor as well. :-D :-D You might even find a dishy one if you look hard enough.

There's a cobweb inside my grandfather clock............. so I think I know where one of those big hairy creatures has been hiding.

Wonder if YG got that one that was on the wall.

Tsk Pauline - that's no way of persuading RMS to seek out a Dentist :-|

Use the vac to get rid of the cobweb, then empty the bag PDQ ;-)

To all the chicken, scaredy cat, spider hating nutters.

Have you lot not heard of pest control bombs. You close up the house and set one of these things off inside.

While it is smoking, bombing, blowing up etc you go out for the day. If you are very observant you will also notice all the spiders and other creepy crawlies following you out of the house.

Theoretically speaking when the bomb things has done its job you should have no more spiders. That is of course until they return to the house after having spent the day doing what spiders do when their favourite house is being fumigated.

Hi RMS. Dentists are more horrible than doctors, and I too have neither. I have to be dragged to medical attention, preferably in an ambulance. As for dentists they really hurt less than the toothache, and if you believe that yes the moon is made of green cheese.

Dentists!! Noooo, i don't do them unless I really have to!! I would rather give birth again lol!! :-D

Yes, Pauline, I got him just before I went to bed!! On watch from 8pm again tonight!!

Cold, wet and blustery here. What beautiful weather. Gone from 28 degs to 12degs in 3 days!! Not a lot of difference lol!! :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Oct 2011 00:25

..Scatters conkers around even though it was disproved last year they don't keep spiders away...

Dentists - Surely a second or two of discomfort when you have an injection is better than days/weeks of toothache or abscess? We probably all had treatment back in the 50's/60's, but the equipment is so much more advanced now, it truly isn't too bad. Its the remembered fear that gets to you. :-(

We can get smoke bombs or something or other for the greenhouse, but as Maz said, a specialist has to do dwellings. Luckily we don't get termites in this country!

Ancestry now have Australian census up to 1980 - lots more leads :-D

Brr RMS - what a sudden, nasty change in the weather, says she all wrapped in a shawl

Catch you in the morning - just don't make too much noise when you get up Maz.

Morning all, just popping out to pick up our tickets for PB. Yay they won't know what's hit them ;-). When I get back I have the delightful chore of the ironing or else I will look like the wreck of the Hesperas. Not that I don't usually anyway :-D. Catch you all later <3

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Oct 2011 09:51

Morning - hope the tickets are now in your sticky hands ;-) One sleep to go :-D

OH had a bad evening when he realised he had lost his wallet. We think he dropped it outside Sains on Wed when he was checking how much cash we had between us. Its not been handed in anywhere we went, or at the Police Station, so that is £60, a driving licence and a couple of memberships cards gone for ever. :-(

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 7 Oct 2011 11:10

Oh DET that is such bad luck. Perhaps someone will find his wallet minus the money. Often all the crooks want is the money so they take that and chuck the rest.

Have you had a really good look for it. Like a female look, not a bloke look. Check right through the car and turn out his pockets in whatever he was wearing.

I know he has looked, probably driven himself crazy looking but it is always worth another thorough search. Talk through exactly what you did when he last had the wallet.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Oct 2011 11:57

Lol - yes, we've already done the male/female search !! He was hoping it had been handed in minus the cash, but in all probability the empty wallet has been thrown in a hedge or bin. He is more cross about the driving licence; he has expired 'points' which come off in Dec when he was planning to get a new one, rather than having to pay for a replacement now.

The loss raises another point - where ladies keep their debit/credit cards. At least a male can spread them around his person, but a female carries everything in one place -- a handbag. As he says, I have my life in mine. The bag gets pinched/lost and so does everything.

Tickets in our sticky little mitts LOL. YAL has just been in for coffee and we are all set :-D. Suggest we meet in cafe on platform 1.

Sorry to hear about the wallet DET.

Hi Aunty, I hope you are well

Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you this time and you actually get to meet up. I'll be keeping an eye on the news!!

Sorry to hear about the wallet DET, don't know how anyone can keep something like that when they find it. Your OH is right about the handbags though, if I misplace mine I feel sick until I find it. I'm always getting wrong off hubby for keeping too many important things in it.
