Morning all, greetings from warming up Oz. And many congratulations to Maz for her new won position, for DET and her OH for their anniversary, for LG and Arsenal's improved form and for YGs new avatar.

I think that covers all the congratulations. Evidently I can chuck in an earth tremor as news. Not that I felt the earth move last night, but evidently we had a small quake about 2 am.

My dil is in the same line of business as you will be Maz and she really loves her job. It is very busy and full on and quite a rewarding occupation.

Another warm day forecast here, then we will have rain starting on Friday. Sunday I am doing another marathon walk. Well it's a shorter distance this time, only ten kilometres, so it should be easier, not!!

Must away, have meetings this morning and some unmentionable to do before I leave for work.

Well I must say >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> it's bloomin' cold here!!!

You are a glutton for punishment Aunty!! Ten kilometres!! I couldn't do 10 yards!!

I can stay over in extreme weather conditions and there are three ways to get there two bus services and a train the latter is the easiest in the mornings and not so far to walk if its chucking it down i can jump in a taxi which is my next job to sign up with one who will give me a good deal .Andrew will help with the sunday shifts as well and his bus firm do school runs in the area ,so i am hoping they may help too

Morning all -

Your job sounds as if it could be very rewarding. You ought to read upon their various conditions so you know what to expect. What age range will you be dealing with? We sometimes come across a small group of young adults in their 20's who go out for a cup of tea at the local posh garden centre, or at the supermarket. They are no trouble and well known to the staff. Its lovely to see them. The hours don't seem too bad; one concern I had was if Earlies started at 7am, which could have caused problems for you getting there. Such a shame you don't drive.

I wonder if the kitchen staff will have whip round for you? ;-)

Thank you for your felicitations on our Anniversary. We dumped the washing down idea yesterday (mainly as OH got up so late) and went out for a pub lunch. OH's large cod over hung the plate, and I struggled to finish my smaller version. At least it meant no cooking last night bar getting something out the freezer for PC. As we were leaving, we spotted an announcement that the food had been voted the best pub restaurant 2011 in the SE and they had been put forward for the Nationals. So that's another place to take in the In Laws when they invite themselves over.

OK. That's it. Enough!! 19th of October and it was 34.5 degrees. What happened to 30, 31, 32, and 33 degrees. It is flaming 'ot already and not even November yet.

Aunty squirms around in her shortie jamas and tries to get comfortable.

Hopefully it will still in in the low 20's on Sunday when I go walkies. Well I suppose it is one way of losing a bit of weight. And we won't mention weight loss. Well, if you must know I seem to have developed the permanent weight gain syndrome. Nothing I do seems to make any difference. Not that I was expecting miracles, well not many miracles. A mere drop of a couple of kilos in two weeks would have gladdened my heart. Aunty adjusts the wheelbarrow she is using to move her fat tummy around. But no it isn't to be so I can't see me being a shadow of my present self by Christmas.

The family are in gallivanting mode. No 2 son and blondie are off to KL for a week and a bit. No 2 son was going over on a business/holiday trip with his boss and blondie asked to go along. They had all sorts of hilarious problems with their accommodation. Weren't too keen on sharing a double bed despite having the same name. I am naturally very apprehensive about them going together. I'll have to worry about both of them until they return.

OH is off next weekend to a service reunion in our nation's capital. Ummmm,, well he has booked his flight. However the airlines in their infinite wisdom are holding rolling stoppages and frequently taking aircraft out of service. He isn't certain whether to risk it and assume his flight will be available, or leave a few days earlier and drive over and back.

Me?? I'm just a staying home, going to work, worrying and walking.

Update on the earth tremor. About 3.5 on the richter scale, so quite small. Centred south of here and felt over a wide area. Our alarm system at work work threw a hissy fit but other than that nothing to report in my world.

I have melted a little more while I have been sitting here. Off to sit in the fridge to try and consolidate my being again. With second thoughts perhaps I should just scrape off the melted bits and chuck them!!!

Afternoon - we've been wall washing with half the room done. OH had one of his 'turns' although he didn't land prone on the floor. I shall twist his arm and march him off to the Docs. Being a male, he is comparing them to when he was 15/16, but despite what he may think, its a looooooooong time ago.

How was your resignation greeted Maz?

Have we actually heard Aunty winge about the heat? :-D That's a new one for the books!!! Not nice for a marathon walk, so hopefully it will cool down a bit by the weekend. The WW weather is certainly odd this year.

Pack OH off on the plane if it flies. It isn't as if he has a paid job to get back for. He'll have another tall tale to tell if he gets delayed, and you can always pack him of the NAA to fill his time. Your offspring will be fine in KL (Kuala Lumpur?). After all, he has the company credit card to get him out of trouble if needs be. Bet he won't see much of the sights - OH never did when he was away on business. He went to Japan twice, and saw the airport, hotel and shipyard and the roads he travelled in between.

Maz, that's great news, I'm really pleased for you, hope you love the new job.

DET, just make the appointment with the doctor and then drag him there............ by the scruff of the neck if necessary.

I bet it was :-|

If you were vindictive enough, you might have a case for constructive dismissal. But onwards and upwards and look forward to the future ;-)

The cooker calls, before the sound of rumbling tummies drowns the sound of everything else out.

Tatty bye

Evening all,

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 19 Oct 2011 21:04

Evening LG. When do the soccer team play again. TV is very boring in this land without our footy to watch. I'll have to resort to desperate measures and start watching soaps or even restart my family history research, properly, again.

Thinking about seeing what facebook is like. Family all seem to be on it. Don't think it is for me but how can I criticise when I haven't had a go.

I think the business trip has more touristy things than business. They have a few things planned while they are over there. Oh well, the time will go quickly.

It rained last night. I am sitting here in my shortie jamas because it is still about mid 20s. Very humid night, not easy to sleep.

Fruit and veg love the warmer weather. The roses are blooming beautiful, strawberries are ripening and the dwarf peach looks like it has peaches and nectarines on it.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 19 Oct 2011 21:10

I am watching the footie as we speak Aunty. Can't be having watching soaps I can't stand them. I have house decorating going on at the moment so I don't have too much time to be bored. Thank goodness I have just done the last Brownies and Rainbows for this half term and have a week off I might be able to finish a good bit of the painting. I don't go on facebook either(miserable devil aren't I ??) :-D. I have loads to do on the tree research as I have all sorts of bits of notes to enter

YG

YG Report 19 Oct 2011 21:22

Evening everyone!

Knew you would be watching footie, LG!!

I subsribed to fb but only to lookk at tributes to Steptoe's son. I stayed with it, but mainly to play a couple of different games and 'poke' work colleagues! You can have private chats with people when they are logged on, but whatever else you do, make sure you have your security settings to suit you. I only allow friends to see my wall etc and it is possible to block anyone who is not invited by you as a friend.

Am busy stripping dark nail polish from my toes at the moment!! I have a chiropdist appointment after work tomorrow so that I can hopefully wear full shoes with some degree of comfort!!

LaGooner Report 19 Oct 2011 21:25

Evening YG. I missed the first part of the match as I went for a cup of coffee to Yidarmylass's after Brownies. Boy we needed it as it was a very hectic evening :-D. Stripping your toes, are you any good at stripping paint ? :LOL :-D :-D

YG Report 19 Oct 2011 21:36
