Morning all.

Just in case we miss later today, Bon Voyage Maz. The weather is supposed to be good until at least Tuesday, even up to 19c on Sunday, so make the most of it. :-D Is Frog going with you this time?

Hope you'll be OK at the end of today's shift and will be able to keep your feelings in check. One door closes and another opens.

We are trying to work out when to hire a steam carpet cleaner. We had thought mid afternoon, do one room today and the other tomorrow, but I've just remembered the Rugby semi and finals over the w/e, which OH will want to watch. Decisions, decisions

I've obviously missed something by not being here yesterday............ YG's got 2 men on the go!! :-) :-)

Hope you have a good last day, Maz, and a safe journey tomorrow.

When I was a kid I used to worry about my mother decorating the stairs and landing, I was afraid to watch in case she fell. I'm glad I live in a bungalow.

We planted a peach tree last year but it died in the winter............. it was a bit optimistic for up here!

I will keep the throne warm for Maz wile she is absent. Making a note in my head to stock up with essentials for her return.
1 large vat of Pink Custard, lashings of Mole stew, a cauldron of Mushroom Rissotto with a few extra 'mushrooms' for garnish, one or two very large omelettes and gallons of Milo.
Hmm that should be ok or has anyone any other nibbles they would like me to get in ? :-D .

Morning all :-D :-D :-D

Morning all.

It's been a struggle to get onto the thread, after getting loads of Error messages I finally managed to get here. :-)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. :-)

Some green custard might go down well for Halloween.

Keeping the throne warm? You're never off it :-D Just make sure you don't confuse the Milo or Stew for paint brush cleaner LOL

I gave up yesterday, and the site is still v slow. Can't be bothered to hang around waiting for the spinning circle to turn clockwise.

Carpet cleaner hired late yesterday afternoon for 48 hours, so you know what we'll be up to!

Have a good day one and all. And enjoy the sea air Maz.

Green Custard now that sounds good.
I am still having problems here too so am giving up until later.
Don't work too hard DET. I need to get my carpet cleaner out of mothballs again when I have this decorating finished the dust and dirt is awful as it treads into every room.

Have a good day one and all <3 <3 <3

Morning everyone.

I couldn't get on either last night and gave up eventually. Have sent an e-mail to GR complaining!!

Received a bc this morning for my Nellie Ellis!! Still not sure where and how she fits in, if at all, but will send it to Oz and await the outcome!!

Beautiful sunny day, but need to shop for gds birthday presents. Oh joy!!

Hope Maz has a good time this week.

Get on with your chores girls!!

Ah, yes the enigma of Nellie Ellis ;-)

Re the site - you should see the complaints on FB, although it does seem to be working at the moment. I bet someones head is on the block!!!

Hi All, Good luck and enjoy the change of scenery Maz. DET you need to have a staging place before you chuck things. That way you have the option of retrieving them should they suddenly be needed. I would give them at least half an hour in the midway place before you chuck them.

I too am having heaps of problems with accessing the site.

By the way "long drop" in Oz language is an outside toilet. It is a hole dug in the ground at a bush camp. The hole is normally surrounded by a million blowflies and the smell is very bad.

I did wonder why you wished to paint a long drop.

YG. Who or what is Nellie Ellis. You have a cert for her. Well come on tell me more. Have you checked how many there were born between 1788 and 1910 in NSW, or do you need to go further afield.

Sorry, I need to go to bed. I have this 10 kilometre stroll tomorrow morning and one must look one's best when cavorting with the fit and healthy. I will catch you all tomorrow.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 22 Oct 2011 11:45

LOL - I had to read back to work out where 'long drop' came into it :-) Paint helps preserve wood, so it makes sense to paint the outhouse. You've probably guessed that in this instance its the where the stairs go to the upper floor - upper floor ceiling to ground floor skirting board.

We could shove stuff into the loft, but that is overfull as it is. We're short of cupboard space. Every room bar the necessities, has a pile of things in a corner.

OH is up, so off we go.

Bye

Aunty, Nellie Ellis was born in the UK, at Ecclesall Bierlow, which is an old area of Sheffield. She is listed as the niece of my great gfather on the 1901 census, but the only Ellis we have is my great g mother's sister who married William Ellis, but he died in childbirth in 1886. There are two Nellie Ellis on the bdms, both born in Ecclesall Bierlow in the same quarter in 1893, so I guess I have sent for the wrong one!! I am going to get the other certificate to find out who her parents were. Perhaps her father, William, remarried and had another child. I am trying to solve the puzzle for myself and my cousin in Oz!!!

Probably like you, Tired and achy ;-) Still, everything is fresh and clean, so well worth the graft. We'll probably start on the kitchen next week :-(

Hope Aunty has made it to the start line of her stroll. Rather her than me.

Merlin is on shortly, so you may be talking to your self again soon. At least you will get sensible answers.
