Morning All - OH nipped in on the PC, and that was the end of that last night. If he wants to watch the Rugby, he'll have to get up pretty soon. Saucepan and wooden spoon at the ready!! :-D

Looks like a good drying day, so off to sort out some washing.

Hope you get everything planned done, and don't go rubbing up against tacky gloss paint. ;-)

We've got return the carpet cleaner, and might have a wander around the big shopping centre, OH wants some baking tins to make large but individual Yorkshire puds - he is getting quite domesticated :-D :-D

You know what to get him for Christmas then DET, a few cookery books! Pick ones that have your favourite meals in them. ;-) ;-)

Good luck with the game this afternoon LG............ not that they need luck, I have to admit they're good. :-) :-)

Aunty survived her stroll. And has spent the remainder of the day resting and sleeping. It was a bit warm to say the least. Anyway out of 136 walkers I came 61st and 5th in my age category. Not too bad for an old biddey. My time for the ten km was 1hr 35.2 mins.

This site is still playing up. I have to log on almost every time.

Well done Aunty :-) There's life in the old girl yet ! Any more strolls planned or will you wait until the autumn now that things are getting hotter?

The site seems ok to me (cross fingers and touch wood)

Just finished watching the NZ-France RU final. NZ won, but it was a close call. 8-7 to NZ.

Hmm cookery books for OH. Now there's an idea ;-)

YG Report 23 Oct 2011 17:02

Afternoon everyone!!

Well done to NZ for winning the world cup! Not that I am a rugby fan, you understand!!

And congratulations to Aunty for completing the 10k walk and her final position!

Been a busy girl, but now got the roast dinner cooking, so time to chill out a little.

Evening YG.

I've started some parsnip soup, and OH is going to do Toad-in-the-hole. Unfortunately he didn't find any tins to fit his mental wish list, so it will be one big one instead. What a shame ;-) ;-)

YG Report 23 Oct 2011 18:38

Evening DET.

No, it's ok!! I love yorkshire pud out of a big tin!! Especially if it is well made and risen round the edges!!!

I've just eaten my dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Morning all, a bit cloudy here today .

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 24 Oct 2011 10:23

Morning all. Sorry you ended up Billy-no-mates, but OH pinched the PC again :-|

Apparently there were some Avatar glitches overnight, and according to SylviainCanada, IGP ended up with my Sunflower, and I had his Green pen Hope he doesn't have hay-fever. :-D

Well done with your progress in the decorating department. We are having a rest for the moment, certainly as far as the washing down is concerned. OH has grass cutting on the agenda for today, with a trip to the dump to follow.

We bought a bag of salt'n'grit yesterday, so along with the snow shovel and shoe grips on order, we ought to be able to cope with whatever the weather throws at us this winter

Hi all, just a flying visit again, I'm rushing out.

Hmm, that reminds me DET, I need a new snow shovel, better get one while I'm out.

Mind you, it's lovely and mild today, so shouldn't be needing the snow shovel yet.

I just know it's going to snow next week now that I've said that!!

Hope you all have a good day. :-) :-)

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 24 Oct 2011 18:08

Just poking head round the door - LG must be stuck up a ladder. Hope you managed to pick up a snow shovel Pauline - geographically, thy need is greater than mine!

OH keeps lurking, so will probably sneak in while dinner is being prepared - catch you later, possibly. ;-)

YG Report 24 Oct 2011 18:17

A*** had snow shovels in stock last week here. I was going to get one, but decided it was too big and would be too heavy for me to lift. I may be better with an ordinary shovel.

I have some salt in stock ready and am thinking about snow grips for my wellies!! Are they easy to walk in, DET?

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 24 Oct 2011 21:15

Giggling at you lot having to sort out your annual snow implements. A bit like us dragging out our shorts tshirts sunglasses and stocking up on pina coladas and ice cream.

I would be hibernating, stocked up with lots of food, and never poke my head outside the door until summer comes around again. If anyone wanted to visit, or collect account payments or read meters let them shovel the snow from my gate to my front door.

Strange about the avatars. Never noticed anything different on this side of the planet.

Twenty five days without chocolate, lollies, soft drink, chocolate, dessert, biscuits, chocolate or icecream. I put yoghurt back into the eating plan because I was not getting enough calcium. It is the proper yoghurt and not the yummy stuff. Portion control is a bit slap dash and still depends on OH remembering I am not a 6'6" bloke. And no I am not thin yet.

Hmmm wonder if I should reverse this and only eat from my banned list. Only in my dreams.

Now have birth cert of OHs sister. All our info is correct and that is pleasing to know.
