Naughty , but Nice :-D :-D Its good to see that people have taken up La Gooner's (LG) invitation, so welcome Sue Maid :-D :-D. Do stick around and join in the inconsequential chatter on here, or drop by if there is nothing else to do.

Various acronyms to help you out....

The Blond one - one of Aunty's offspring
The Geek or Techno Wizard - the same
Frog - Maz' gentleman caller
Tadpole - his son.
PC - Problem Child - our youngest
BM - Beta Male - our 2nd born
Eldest - self explanatory, one of ours
&Co - her OH.
Steptoe - YG's Ex.

Somewhere lurking in the shadows are various cyber pets. We did make up some new ones, but the names escape me at the moment. LG could probably oblige - she is VERY young at heart!!

Yoo Hoo - LG!!! You need to update the visitors book !!!

Evening everyone!!

A very warm welcome Jax and SueMaid to this illustrious, if not somewhat insane thread!!!

Not another Gooner fan!!!! Oh my goodness!! That has got LG going and there will be no containing her in any sort of 'normal' mode!!

I'm like a one eyed monster at the moment, but all is well as I have now succeeded with the contact lenses. Only problem was that one of them split, so they are having to order another set!!

Aunty, you must promise not to laugh >>>>>>>>>>>> the optician has advised me that I have one eye the shape of football and the other is like a rugby ball!! I don't want any comments from you lot!! I already feel like the green eyed monster, only mine are red at the moment!! :-D :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 5 Nov 2011 19:23

An Eye like a football and red Hmmm I shall say no more ;-) :-D.

Evening all :-D.

Well Jax and I should be happy we won again today :-D :-D :-D

Evening all - are you enjoying a free firework display or trying to calm hysterical pussy cats??

We ended up going 'seasonal shopping' this afternoon, in the absence of any other sensible suggestion. Goodness knows why as weekdays are a lot less crowded! Still, 3 people are done and dusted, and 2 others are half done. Its just OH and the in-laws - they've both now have their traditional diaries, but never seem to come up with suggestions for anything else. Sigh.

YG - Hope your eyes aren't quite as sore now. Lens are probably worth persevering with, although not my 'scene'. Shouldn't worry too much about being lop-sided; no face is symmetrical !! ;-)

LaGooner Report 5 Nov 2011 19:34

Evening DET. There are fireworks going off in the distance so the cats are ok. I browsed around at a few mobile phones today and now have to make a final decision as to which one to buy.

Poor YG joking apart I do hope your eyes feel better soon.

YG Report 5 Nov 2011 19:54

Less of it LG!! I don't mind a red football eye as long as it matches MU!!

Ooh, I forgot to let Jax and SueMaid know that the 'C' word is unmentionable lol!! :-D ;-)

Morning all and greetings Sue Maid. I wil have to source some more ink for the stamp for botty stamping. Your room is ready at Nut Lodge. You may have any colour and decor you wish, it is virtual. We were going to demolish it and built a new residence however it is still here. Be careful in the kitchen if the windows are open !! Although I haven't seen any flying omelettes for a long time.

You will become used to me posting at proper times while you lot post at daft times. I live the other side of the planet. Every time I want to join in a celebration I have to row of UK in my canoe, accompanied by my trusty sabre toothed tiger Spot.

We talk about everything almost diary fashion and then from time to time chuck in a bit of research, sport, cooking, medical information and comment on the state of our respective nations.

Very hot night here last night, difficult to sleep. Temperature stayed in the 30s for most of the night.. Cooler this morning and we have had some rain. No fireworks heard at all. That is not unusual because as I said before the purchase of them is banned. Don't miss them one bit and we can do without the bush fires they used to cause each year.

Thanks for that info DET I am certain my info is correct bcause I did research her very carefully. She is connected to OHs grandfather's proper wife, before he ran off with MIEK.

I am about to dismantle my facebook page. It has served it's purpose. I now know what it looks like, have surprised my children, and have decided as a communication tool it leaves an awful lot to be desired. I much prefer this type of networking. Unless I want to go public, FB resricts me to people I already know and talk to almost every day. There is an inbuilt caution that someone might access your information, you are constantly bombarded with advertising, and there is no underlying useful purpose in the site.

I can also do without something else to check on every day. I will keep my play FB page. That has nothing on it and is useful if I wish to look at other FB pages for researching. And no it is not called Aunty Sherlock.

Catch you all later. I am hoping to spend some time up my tree and sorting the unsorted photograhs. Have finished the work work I needed to do so can now have some me time.

Thank you all for your warm welcome

I am sorry I have not quite read the whole thread yet :-D

Yes been a Gooner for as long as I can remember and used to go to the matches with my dad when it was 2/6d to get in and stand on a home made stalll down at the North Bank. I do not follow it as much these days, but still like to see them win.

Why did I get married on the 5th November? you can never forget it :-(

My cat seemed to enjoy the fireworks tonight sitting on the window ledge watching them

Hi Jax, I have been a Gooner for 55 years now. Dad used to take me but he in actual fact was a Hammers supporter :-P :Now have the 2 youngest Granddaughters interested (known as the mini Gooners on here)D. They wear their kit shirts with pride just like their Nanna

It could take you a wee time to read this thread so good luck. Happy Anniversary to you and your OH.

jax Report 5 Nov 2011 20:48

I was first taken around 1968 never to big games normally against clubs like West Brom, Wolves and the such. Dad is an avid armchair supporter now and is not normally seen out of the house unless he is wearing one of his Arsenal baseball caps.

He managed to get to see a game at the Emarates a couple of months ago, as someone he knew had a spare season ticket. It is a shame the game has gone like this as I am sure he would go more often if it was pay on the door.

I did'nt want congrats...but thanks...I left him 10 years ago but still married :-D

LaGooner Report 5 Nov 2011 20:52

Whoops sorry.

We are armchair supporters too. I do wear the kit etc while watching matches and my hat and scarf when it's cold. My office in the house is a shrine with loads of memoribilia etc.
