LOL YG.

Great Avitar, I have just stocked the family up with poppies ready for the day. Just got to get the flags out and dust them down, oh and finish sewing a new one for the Rainbows to use as there's had a bit of a mishap last year :-(

YG

YG Report 5 Nov 2011 22:48

Thanks LG.

I have my poppies and at long last have managed to buy one of the metal coat pins. I've wanted one for ages.

I'm off under the duvet shorly when fur has been out. All is quiet outside now.

Sleep well x <3

Hello Nutlodgers - I see I've made the guest book :-D Thank you for the warm welcome.

It's early evening here - we've just had tea and OH has decided he'll wash up tonight so I can relax after slaving over a hot stove. It's been quite warm today and very humid but after the cooler than usual October weather I'm hoping our summer is on it's way.

Hello Sue, welcome. Pull over a throne and join me in my early morning coffee. Grey and gloomy here a typical Autuminal day for us.

SueMaid Report 6 Nov 2011 09:00

But LG - if I join you in your early morning coffee I'll never sleep tonight :-0 I can just sit with you and pass the time of day - always one of my favourite things to do :-)

Evening all, or good morning. Had quite a lazy day today, well apart from one fitness class, cooking tea, sorting some photos, playing on the computer, tidying the house. What happened to my lazy day.

We have been following the news about the traffic pile up and tragedy on your roads. Oh why oh why can't people slow down when there is fog or smoke in the area. What a senseless waste of lives.

Like your avatar YG. It is our poppy day on 11th November as well. We have two minutes silence at work and the children learn about the significance of remembrance day.

I can make LG laugh. Our TV is so boring right now OH and I watched some soccer today. Did not understand it one bit but were very impressed by the acting skills of one player. He knocked someone over and then ran around the oval waving his hands in the air as though he had scored a goal!!! Strange game.

I have a mess behind me. Photograph albums all over the place and photos which still need sticking in. I think I had bettter go tidy it up.

Morning/evening all - what an international collection of posters we have now - if you include the insomniacs, there ought to be someone about for Aunty to talk to if she isn't at work work while us right-way-up-pers are tucked up in bed :-D

Its really surprising that news of the M5 crash has made it to Oz, or do you know about it because of the mentions on the Boards? This morning, they are saying that 'only' 7 people died at the scene; they had been worried that more remains would be discovered while they were clearing the wreckage. The aerial views were horrifying - cars thrown around and left so there was no opportunity for the people to get out even if they were capable. The Motorway is still closed.

Re the facebook thingy - you don't have to check it; you get an email if someone has added to your wall, or sent you an off page message.

Nice Poppy LG (oops - YG. Sorry) - we bought ours yesterday as well - they don't seem to have door-to-door sellers any more.

Afternoon everyone.

It is a beautiful sunny day here today. Very enjoyable after the cold, wet day yesterday.

Been a busy girl since I got up at 7.30 this morning doing unmentionables, but it's tea break time now, plus a couple of paracetomol for the backache!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Great avatar YG, I got my poppy on Friday. I grow oriental poppies in the garden and I love them.

I don't know......... I miss a couple of days and you lot talk for England. I've only read back a couple of pages so I've probably missed some things.

LG, have you been touting for more members for the lodge?

Hello Jax and Suemaid, welcome to the thread.

Edit: Is the site going slow again? Took ages for this post to go up.

Glad things seem to be going OK for you Maz. Go on, you can tell us what's been happening. You know the sort of thing. Male X did **** to Y and then we had to call in xxxxxx. If you don't come clean, I'll bore you all again with the tale of PC's riot and siege!!! Mind you, you may have YG on the train so she can oogle males in uniform. ;-)

Exams next week, so I've been up to my eyes in preparation paper work. On Wed afternoon, there are 150, year 10 candidates in the room, who won't know where they are supposed to be sitting or their candidate numbers, along with a team of 7 invigilators including me. One person is good, one OK, another a bit of an indecisive drip and the rest are admin staff called in to help out. Add to that the expectation that we will be Inspected by the Exam Board. All in all, a recipe for disaster.

The site was a bit hit and miss - some errors on changing pages etc. Lets see how quickly this loads.

Hello. Sounds like Maz has been having adventures. Were there any spare firemen, I don't mind sharing with YG. And yes you will have to write us a fairy tale about it. Start you off......Once upon a time.........

We found out about the vehicle accident and loss of life on our evening news programs on TV. Very much featured and it is also on the news on the WWW.

Did you know there was a website Ban the Bang. It is about banning fireworks because of the trauma caused to pets and wildlife.

I went to bed early last night so my task of the evening, aka photograph tidy up, is still sitting on the table. Weird how jobs wich don't get done, never have the initiative to do it themselves. Hmm that might be a bit too cryptic for late evening brains.

And yes I discovered you can read you facebook entries by looking at the email address of your FB. Why on earth have facebook, all you need to do is communicate by email. Hmm I might have thought up a revolutionary communication idea. Might give it a go, one day.

Right now I need to go get ready for work work.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Nov 2011 23:04

**Ban the Bang! needs you to send in your experiences about animals, wildlife and also people who have been badly affected by fireworks.**

Well, that says it all really - the potential harm to humans comes last. On that basis only, they won't be getting my vote. Although as a child, we had wonderful Bonfire Nights in our large garden, the UK is now far more densely populated while the fireworks available to the general public are getting larger and more dangerous. So from that point of view, the control of sales does need to be tightened up, and a shorter selling period introduced. I wouldn't like to see garden fireworks banned altogether. Organised firework displays are much more expensive for a family to attend, than a box bought in a supermarket, and you can't go in doors as soon as they are over to warm up!

Hope you remembered to take the work work back with you this morning Aunty!
