+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Nov 2011 21:07

Don't tempt fate YG - it often snows darn suff in the last 10 days of Nov. There is probably a higher chance opp norf!

If you accept Aunty's offer of chocolate, you can keep it safe until you get home. Then you can comfort eat to your heart's delight. :-)

YG Report 7 Nov 2011 22:04

Wrap it up in foil and a seal it in a plastic bag - then bury it under the veg in the fridge!! :-D

LaGooner Report 7 Nov 2011 22:43

AuntySherlock Report 8 Nov 2011 06:35

Hi all. Speaking of diets or healthy eating. I am now 39 days into mine. I have gone two notches down my belt and if I look very closely I can see a definite waist outline. My watch band is loose on my wrist and I still look three months pregnant!!
So no chocolate, lollies, sweet biscuits, soft drink, flavoured milk, desserts, or anything with sugar in it. At 30 days I had a treat and ate two little jam tarts. Felt so guilty afterwards I didn,t really enjoy them.

I also watch my portions quite closely and eat at least three vegies and two fruits each day. I had trouble with my calcium intake so put fruit smoothies and yoghurt back into the can have list.

I have solved my midnight excursion problem. After being "in charge" of that activity for about 25 years I decided as I said, enough was enough, so I have handed over the "crawling out of bed to go to work in the middle of the night" to someone else.

Could not care less how many doors are left open now. "Tis no longer my responsibility. Ah!!! What an excellent decision.

I was a bit out with my temperature guestimation, more like 30 here today. Life is so difficult to take in paradise.

Well done Aunty - you must have lost weight if things are getting looser. The tum will reduce when it gets round to it. Strange the bits that melt in differing order! And pleased to hear that you have put your foot down with a firm hand.

LG - go buy more veggies before you run out :-D Tsk, try to help, and get faced with objections!!!

Maz - with the company of uniforms, at least you can have a sensible conversation ;-) Have you got your shifts for the end of the year yet? PC had a hissy fit yesterday when she read hers; she'd asked for 25 Dec off as she's worked the last 3. Yep, she has it............as a rest day from 'Nights' on the 24th, with Early on the 26th. NYE isn't much better - admittedly she has a run of days off, and doesn't have to work then, But she has a 'late' (leave home at 13:15) on NY day, with not enough time to recover from a hangover. So its looks as if most of her celebrations will be 'dry'. :-0

Evening everyone.

Not good shifts for either Maz or DET's PC!! I used to moan when I only got Christmas Day & Boxing Day off and that was nowhere near as bad!! Now I have a long holiday right through to New Year!

I was an hour and a half late leaving work tonight as we busy prepping for the AGM on Thursday & Friday. Fortunately I don't have to go! Will sit and chill out now for the rest of the evening.

DET, good idea about the choccie under the veggie! Thank you!!

Well done Aunty, passing on those horrible late night call outs!!

Morning all - bad luck with the Christmas day shift Maz, but at least A might be able to ferry you around. Taxis are so expensive, but at least in our area, there are a lot of Sikh or Muslim drivers who don't mind working. It would be good if you can get unsocial hours or an extra day in lieu.

YG - if the Cats are away, the mice can play, and you may be able to sneak off early on both days to make up!

I've got the 150 candidate exam today (shudder) Wish me luck!!

Hello - just had a whacking thunderstorm in our little part of Aus. We had thunder and rain but my daughter who lives 15 minutes away just had a shower and that was it.

DET - love your sunflower. A while back I had my twin grandchildren plant some sunflower seeds in pots. A couple of weeks later they were visiting and my little grand-daughter decided she would pick all the seedlings and tossed them onto the lawn. By the time I found them they were beyond rescue. Will try again now they are older :-D

Evening Sue Maid

Isn't the weather strange? We have such varieties in the UK, which in comparison to Australia, is so small, its not surprising we tend to talk about it. Even with the snow, some places 5 miles apart will differ. ;-)

Your granddaughter probably thought she was helping with the weeding, bless her. Hope you have better luck next time. This was the first year I'd grown them; a friend gave me some of the seeds which she had received from someone else. In my ignorance, I thought the Heads followed the sun, but they get 'stuck' facing east. I had to go into next door's garden to take the photo. At least they were able to enjoy them, even if I couldn't!!!

Greetings you lot. I have finished my homework for this evening. Managed to fall asleep sitting on the lounge surrounded by papers and files, wondered where the heavens above I was when I woke up.
Cool change came in late this afternoon, some places north and west from here had quite bad dust and thunder storms.

I am in training for another ten km walk on Sunday. Did I say training. Hmm walking out to the car in the morning, and then from the car into the house in the evening. No not really, just sticking to my normal physical activity for the week. Forecast is for 29 and rain. Haven't played in the rain since I was a kid, should be fun.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Nov 2011 11:38

for Maz

Molly, Mollie – Moll, Polly (see Mary);
Mary – Mae, May, Moll, Molly, Mollie, Polly, Mamie, Mimi, Minnie;

It could also be used for Margaret, but if it was a middle name she was known by, you're stuffed!!

So even though you are due to work a late shift, you are going in the shift before? Hmm.

The rain will help keep you cool - good on you Aunty! Is work work sooo boring you fall asleep over it? Either that or you need a few early nights. Ladies 'of our age' can't burn the candle at both ends like wot we used to :-(
