Evening all.

What a day!! I do not want a repeat of it until this time next year, and I'm not that keen, even then!!

They should have departed the office around 2ish, but this morning was a complete nightmare. One printer decided to malfunction and it caused mayhem! They eventually left about 4.15pm so they will be working late tonight!!

I called and bought a cheeseburger on my way home and made do with that for my tea. I am chilling out tonight!!

Hope your day was better DET!!

A double shift at Christmas, Maz!! What can I say!! Hope you sleep well on the couch!!

Oh, btw, I am now allowing the unmentionable 'C' word to be used as it is only a few weeks away! ;-)

Christmas.........Christmas.........Christmas......... :-P :-D

Sorry to hear your's was a wash out YG - if things can go wrong, they will. At least you aren't going this year, so won't have to put in the extra hours in the hotel.

Mine went better than expected - its all in the preparation ;-) Never the less, at least 50% didn't know where they were supposed to sit or their candidate number. It took us 25 mins to get them in and the exam started. The more senior Senior (there is me and her) has the pleasure of them later in the week. I had a 2nd exam to run after that one, so 3 of us didn't get out until 5.30. OH went and bought fish'n'chips for tea, but I'm still exhausted and a little shaky from the adrenaline. Tomorrow OH and I have a rest, except for shopping, then only 12 x Yr12 on Friday for an English exam.

SueMaid Report 9 Nov 2011 23:01

I'm in Oz, RMS but I find that music store vouchers go down well. Clothing stores, sports stores - especially golf stores for my SIL. I still like to buy gifts for the grandchildren because they like to open parcels.

Hello LaG :-D

LaGooner Report 9 Nov 2011 23:04

Hello Sue, I give vouchers for the music shops and the shops that sell computer games to my oldest Grandchildren. Plus a small token gift so that they have something to open on Christmas day.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 Nov 2011 23:10

These days the adults just buy what they want anyway so it makes sense to give vouchers. My grandchildren are still little so they want pressies. I have twin grandchildren and my daughter prefers a gift they can both play with otherwise the house becomes over-run with toys. It's getting harder as they are a boy and girl so they don't always want the same thing.

Must be off and get some things done around the house. Talk soon :-)

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 10 Nov 2011 10:17

And the age - don't forget that! Mind you, the information is only as good as the informants knowledge. After about 1970(?) the date of birth is also given, but that might be wrong. My father got my grandmother's wrong :-(

Morning all - my, weren't you chatty last night!

You could add Amazon vouchers to the gift vouchers list, but make sure you use the site for the country/in the currency where the person lives ie .co.uk for Britain which will give you UKĀ£. Your cc or dc co will convert it into your local currency. If you email it to a relative (mum/dad/offspring) they can print it off and wrap it for you. It often works out cheaper than mailing something, especially overseas.

We tend to create a list which is circulated amongst family members. Eldest has earrings, &co a board game (he is into Dungeons and Dragons etc, etc), PC has an electric toothbrush with our shopping centre gift card, the inlaws a diary each, and probably nutty chocolate and wine. OH says he wants alcohol. BM wants a new Snow Boarding jacket, but he isn't getting cash as he will just blow it - he hasn't banked the Birthday cheque from his grandparents given to him earlier this year - he has to decided which shop he wants to get it from, then he will get a number of vouchers towards it.
