LG, it wasn't me on the throne!! It was DET!! I was already tucked up under the duvet snoring my head off!!! :-P :- :-D

Got my contact lenses today, so I will need to get up an hour earlier tomorrow morning to get them in!! Now the question is >>>>>>>>>>> do I put them in before I put the plaster of paris on, or after?? :-D

I did say you could mention the 'C; word, not devote a whole page to it!!!

Well alright then >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wii game & makeup for the eldest gd, gift vouchers for dil, creative games for youngest gd and no idea for sonny jim!!

I have bought my friend a pair of Swarov*** terrapins. She has two live ones in a tank and loves them to bits, so I thought it was a nice 'C' pressie as a thank you for going on hols with me :-)

YG What plaster of paris. What is broken?? Have I missed something. Oh dear Australians are so thick sometimes.

You can keep your C word celebrations. I dread Christmas all the work it involves. Although I love them to bits I do find the day quite stressful. No we don't have arguments and everyone gets on really well, it's just the logistics of the whole enterprise. Ah well it's only for one day.

I send cards to those I have sent cards to for forty years. I give my children money because I know they need it. The grandbabies have presents to open. OH and I will decide if we give to each other or share a joint present. I like the joint present idea. Last year that got me my colour printer. Well it's handy for him because I can copy and print stuff when he needs it!!!

LOL Aunty I think YG means plaster to fill the wrinkles ;-). Or that's what I use it for :-D.

YG

YG Report 10 Nov 2011 21:23

Me >>>>>>>> wrinkles?????? Never!!! I use the most expensive cream ever so that I don't get any lol!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

But yes, you are right, it is for plastering!!

Talking of plaster of paris, LG, do you remember the rubber moulds that you could buy years ago when we were in the first flush of youth and you filled them with plaster of paris mixture to make models? You could then paint them when they dried out.

Polyfiller? YG needing it? Of course she doesn't; her skin is as unblemished as the day she was born ;-) Hope you get on OK with the contact lenses, and no losing them in the tissue box again.

Next time LG goes to purchase supplies for Rainbows, she'll have to see if they still sell those moulds. Then perhaps we could all have a competition and put them up as avatars?

Going out mid week is great, isn't it Maz? Watch out for the Yummy Mummys along with young Tarquin and Amanda, taking over the Coffee Shop or pavements with their state of the art Strollers which probably cost more than a first car - lol

Aunty, we were only saying this evening that we might get the in laws a Printer - they've signed up to a superspeed broadband, but have know realised that their printer won't connect wirelessly. An add on what ever it is called to convert it, cost as much as a new printer. Knowing the muddle they get into as it is, it would be worth it just to avoid the unplanned, urgent visits to 'sort them out'. Ma in law turned the new router off overnight, and now it doesn't work. The internet provider is sending a new one, meaning OH has to go and set it up again. And all to save 5p in electricity. Grr.

They still sell the moulds in H****craft. Bit messy doing them though I prefer to model with air drying clay :-D. Well we are off to bed now so nite nite one and all <3

Think I got up too early; lets hope I don't want to nod off in the exam this afternoon, like one of my colleagues often does - lol

Oh polyfilla, spakfilla now I know what you are talking about. Too late for me the wrinkles are set in and won't budge.

About amusing children. I was introduced to "gak" today. I have not seen it but I have heard all about it and seen a recipe.

http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/00000039

This link explains it. The recipe I have seen looks easier than this. If you would like to try it I'll get a copy and post it here for you. Evidently the kids love playing with it. Yuck!!

If you buy a printer DET be very careful you check out the price of the ink cartridges. I bought what I thought was a good bargain. However, good bargains cost lots more in printer ink. Also make sure you can just print and copy in black and white and if the colour cartridges are empty the machine still works. You will find you are paying as much for the ink as you did for the printer, and that is every time you have to replace the ink.

It is a fine warmish evening here with an even warmer day promised tomorrow. The strawberries are delicious and I can not wait for the apricots to ripen. Looks like I won't have to fight OH for my share this year. No, that's a joke he did share, one each was last year's crop. We had six but a strong wind wiped out two thirds of our apricot crop. If I remember rightly we were going to apply to the government for agricultural disaster relief!!!

Evening Aunty - I wonder if we can get Elmer's Glue in the UK? If so, LG can make it for her littlies. Great fun. No grands in the offing here, so I don't have an excuse. Edit - wonder if the glue is PVA, a water soluble glue?

Found my Playdough recipe in my book, filed under 'sundries'. Hopefully, in years to come, my descendants don't think it is something to eat - lol

2 cups plain flour
2 cups of water
1 cup of salt
2 tablespoons oil (3 are better)
1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
1 dessert spoon powder paint, (or food colouring which tends to stain)

Cook in a saucepan on a medium heat, stirring until the mixture leaves the sides.
Store in an air tight container.

Good point about the printer ink, but the in laws don't use it frequently - the ink has a tendency to dry up rather than run out ;-)

Your OH must have known you were keeping tabs on the apricots - last year our strawberries didn't make it in doors to 'share' LOL. This year's crop was much better.

Its either misty outside, or my glasses need a clean - typical Nov weather. Calm and still. Wretched leaves have started to fall in abundance. That's a job for the weekend, if its dry. I used to wait until most had blown into next door's garden, but he has had a bit of a moan.

Morning all. I make an abundance of Play Dough and also a wonderful mix that sets solid, good for Christmas decorations etc. It consists of WAIT FOR IT ! Ready to roll icing and Denture powder. :-D :-D. Sounds weird but it is great.

Smallest Gooner likes to eat the Play Dough, I don't think her Mum ever feeds her ;-).

YG Report 11 Nov 2011 18:21

Wondered where my denture powder had disappeared to LG!!! Keep your hands off!!! :-D :-D

And please send me a tonne of playdough on the broomstick so I can fill these furrows on my forehead!! :-D

Contact lenses went well this morning. Straight in, no messing, at 6.30am. My rugby ball shaped eye starting to irritate early afternoon, but I waited till I got home to remove it. I now have a red and white eyeball!! Not to worry, it will keep LG very happy with the colour choice!!
