Evening LG - you're probably on your own tonight as I've only come on to shut the comp down.

Managed to sweep the leaves from the front (5 bin bags) and am shattered.

Night all

PS good luck to Aunty and her half marathon walk <3

Morning LG - Hope everyone behaves themselves, and at least it is dry for you.

As Eldest &Co are coming to lunch, need to have a quick tidy up and get the casserole on, do can't spend too much time browsing.

See you later, and mind you don't go tripping over any floorboards :-)

Morning DET. It is dry here and thankfully more important ,not windy. Rain I can put up with but a full sized Union Flag wrapping itself around my head is not good :-|. Enjoy your day and may catch you later. Byeeeeeee :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 13 Nov 2011 08:40

Didn't think about the wind!! Can't they have a pint size one, and carry it themselves?

2nd cup of coffee coming up.

It is a custom in our village that the senior Guider (Me) leads the parade with Union flag and the Units with their own flags follow on. I have 3 flags sitting in my hallway at this moment and 2 wreaths all ready to go up to memorial.

Senior as in with the most Guiding/Scouting experience, or Senior as in the eldest?

Thank you for the good wishes regarding my physical exertion. I need to report that the walk was not an unqualified success. I don't know what I did differently from three weeks ago however about four km from the end I had to take a nanna rest. I was having trouble maintaining a decent pace and although the legs would go one in front of the other, the rest of the body did not feel like cooperating. I need to look at my pre walk hydration. I was not deydrated at the end of the excursion but something was definitely no right.

Regardless of the fact I felt like a heap of cow dung I still managed to complete the course in only ten minutes longer than my last time. Taking into account that I sat for about five minutes that is not too bad. I also came second in my age group. Now don't get too excited about that statistic. All it means is there were only two elderly people stupid enough to walk ten kilometres on that particular morning.

Weather is warmish, the rain we were promised never eventuated and judging by next week's forecast, summer has arrived early.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 13 Nov 2011 11:11

Well done Aunty for not giving up - the oldies have the determination that the youngsters don't. 10 minutes slower than last time, isn't that bad. It could be the higher temps this time wot done you in.

Hope you are feeling OK now, and just be thankful you weren't carted off to the First Aid station.

Waiting for the visitors who have just told us they can take or leave Kidneys, but would rather leave them. Menu 2 is in the freezer. EEK!!

Knees are creaking well now so of to help OH with the flooring before they give out altogether. Enjoy you day whatever you are doing and hope to catch you all later <3

Maz. the men in uniforms are for me!!! Haven't you learnt that yet!! :-D :-D I don't know how long it is going to take to train you! ;-) ;-) ;-)

I was settled in to watch the Remembrance Service, then finish my cleaning and ironing, but was interrupted by the opticians to tell me my glasses were ready so I went into town this afternoon.
