Morning/Evening Aunty - Woolworths? They went bust a few years ago, at least in the UK. Sadly missed, although they had 'lost their way' years before.

Rather than the Chocolate, had you considered the lack of energy might be your more mature years?

>>>>>>>>>> runs to hide >>>>>>>>>

(peeps round the corner to say) Toblerone come in huge bars. For some reason, we always pick up a box at the airport to give as a pressie to those left at home as a Treat.

No you haven't Maz!! i am lurking whilst eating my dinner!!

Had a busy day today. Went to opticians to sign up for the contact lenses, then did some of that horrible shopping. Managed to get several things, so not too much more to do.

I have put the tree up this afternoon and got the lights on. The rest can wait until tomorrow evening or >>>>>>>>>>>>>> whenever!!

Ha! No danger of Woolworths going bust out here. Coles and K Mart and Woolworths and Big W are our largest food and variety chain stores. There are others but Coles and Woolies are the main ones.

You might be right about the advancing years, they are moving at an ever increasing rate these days. Once I get started my Christmas preparations shouldn't take long so I'm not really worried.

Warmish here today, in the low 30's C. OH leaves on a fishing trip and Spot is not going so I can expect a whinging sabre tooth tiger this morning.

Morning Aunty!

Woolworths are in South Africa, but they are actually M&S, so it gets very confusing. Not sure why they call the stores Woolworths there!

Evening Barbra. I hope you are keeping well.

Barbra

Barbra Report 5 Dec 2011 20:17

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Dec 2011 20:39

Evening all, for a moment.

All pressies bought, and only a few left to wrap. :-D

PC has decided she wants to be in charge of the decorations this year, so the tree and decs will come out of the Loft for her to sort through, and for it to be erected on Sunday. Now I only need to cajole OH to string up the outside lights :-D :-D

Aunty, if the stores you have mentioned are in the UK, they must go by another name.........unless they are regional. How strange that M&S are called Woolworths in S Africa. :-S

Hope shared with your nearest and dearest ones then, cos there'll probably more tucked away to appear in a few weeks!

Our shopping list normally includes indigestion tablets as the Alpha Male tends to overindulge on nuts - lol

"Does anyone know if Woolworths still sell those 5 kg blocks of chocolate"

Don't know, they closed down YEARS ago, but I know Walmart does :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Dec 2011 21:44

But we don't have Walmart in the UK. Oh hang on - ASDA is owned by them now.

Good to see you around RMS. Hope everything is OK with you and yours. Or have you got snowed in and don't know what to do with your time ? ;-)

AuntySherlock Report 6 Dec 2011 06:52

O!! I learn fast. Just typed this lot, copied it and clicked submit. Internet dropped out and lost the lot. Yay for copy and paste!!

Nut Lodge Meeting!! Mutter, mutter, mutter. We will need to arrange another soiree complete with a botty stamping event to take care of this influx of visitors.

Is the mushroom risotto and pink custard available, and are there any omelettes left from the last throwing contest.

I don't know what you call your big shops and I take it that M&S is Marks and Spencer, Spence, Expense or whatever. The only thing I know about Wallmart is the movie where the girl had a baby and lived in the store or something equally as daft. Woolworth is the food supermarket and Big W, the Woolworths variety store. Coles is the food supermarket and KMart the variety store. Target, (often pronounced with a french accent) I think belongs to the Coles Myer group as well. Myer is the big department store along with David Jones and John Martins, which isn't what it used to be. Other food stores are Foodland and IGA which are independently owned. Coles and Woolworths have the largest share of the household food market and also sell petrol, alcohol, and I believe Woolworths also dabbles in poker machines.

I doesn't matter much these days because with internet shopping I can buy what I like on line from wherever I like.

You will be so delighted to know the temperature here today was 30 degrees C. It is still very warmish at 5.00 pm. Tomorrow 'twill be 34 degrees and I might wear my shortie jamas to bed tonight. How's the snow and icicles coming, brrrr brrrrr shiver. I've confiscated the knicker elastic from the catapult so you can not send any loads of snow over here. I would like to send you some sunshine but I am using it all myself.

Did someone ask Bobtanian, nope that's too long for a name. XXXX crossings out. Did someone ask BN when his birthday was. Seems to me it must have been only today or maybe yesterday. Anything before that is far too slow a time to have only partially eaten a gift of chocolate brazil nuts. However in all fairness, if the gift comprised a shipping container of the things I will excuse his tardiness in polishing them off.

And I echo the sentiment. Waddayamean nudge!! I'd watch out for LG and the lazer if I was you.

Hi Barbra I'll send you my shopping list seeing you have finished all yours!! And RMS are you saying you have actually purchased a 5kg block of chocolate???!!! Makes me dribble just to think about it.
