Morning all - Men! What are they like? A was probably a) half asleep or b) in a panic and couldn't see his hand in front of his face. :-0
Last night, OH was trying to check something on t'internet, having pulled a file out of the drawer. He then accuses me of moving the said file - bit difficult as I hadn't stirred from the other room :-D

Enjoy your 'heat' Aunty.....as long as it isn't too humid. Won't it mean the fish are harder to catch? What happens to Spot while you are at work work, and OH is away? Does he get too hot locked in/out of the house?

Shopping - Being a tactile shopper, I much prefer buying from a store in person. Marks and Spencers for clothing is one of my favourites. Probably 99% of the female population has at least one item of clothing from them, and say, 80% of males if they rely on the females to buy their underpinnings. However, we do on-line shopping for electronics and the such like.

Bobtanian signed himself as Bob, so that's probably OK to use. ;-)

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 6 Dec 2011 12:30

I am coming home at lunch time to give Spot his medication, and a pat, and a sandwich for lunch. And it might be best if you don't ask about the last item. All OHs fault of course. It is not unbearably hot yet, I was a bit concerned about that but Spot is very good at finding cool places to sleep and he has access to inside or outside as he pleases.

I also do all my sopping in person, apart from things I want from overseas which are not available in OZ. Not much but just occasionally a book or a CD is released elsewhere before we get it here.

I really must go to bed. I have been doing work work and it is very late. I will be in zombie mode again tomorrow. I had omelet for tea and it stayed on my plate (until I ate it that is).

Having trouble posting. The pretty, pink message keeps appearing. Now I know I will have the hiccups when it finishes posting itself.

YG Report 6 Dec 2011 17:33

Evening all.

What a lengthy discussion about shopping and the whys and wherefores!! You lot can't half rabbit while I'm at work!!

I like to shop personally. I don't particularly fancy online for food as I like to reach to the back of the shelves for the freshest 'fresh' foods!! I do use online for clothes and electrical things though, as well as some pressie shopping. I haven't succumbed this year though, as the weather caused mayhem last Christmas for parcel deliveries, so I'm not taking anything to chance!!

No snow here yet, though it is cold, dark and 'orrible!!

Got the first day over with and wished I'd never gone back lol!! :-P

Oh well, perhaps I will win the lottery this weekend! I live in hope! :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Dec 2011 17:57

Well, you do have a choice! :-)

Leaves have been swept up (again) today, and OH dragooned to put up the outside Fairy Lights. We mustn't let the neighbourhood down :-D And the last of the presents have been wrapped. Now the Cards have to be written.

We're getting there!

YG

YG Report 6 Dec 2011 19:02

Oh 'eck!! I still have cards to write DET. I had better get a move on.

Haven't progressed any further with the tree tonight, but I have all week to finish it!! No pressies wrapped yet, still a handful to get, but this weekend will sort that out hopefully!

I have never been so organised!! :-D :-D

RockyMountainShy

RockyMountainShy Report 6 Dec 2011 19:43

Well lets see:

1) We have NO snow, it all melted in Novemeber and hasn't returned YET! :-P

2) No I don't buy the large bars of chocolate as I am slightly allergieric to choclate, doesn't stop me eating it though :-D

3) Walmart has been slowly invading from the States for a # of years now and so has Target. :-| and Coles is a book store NOT a grogery one . :-P

4) Online shopping would be nice, but everything is worth more then I can afford there :-|

5) Hi DET, LG, YG, Maz, Barbara, Bob, etc.

There I am exhasted now, so me and chilly <----- well be leaving now.

BYE BYE

Oh I almost forgot, I have adressed my cards, but now I have to write something in them, but WHAT ! :-S

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 6 Dec 2011 20:46

Did I really type "sopping in person" How exactly does one sop. Oh well it must be the heat. Taken Spot for his walk. Short, slow, with lots of stops. I got the uneasy feeling he thought he should go a bit further than we did. He kept looking down the track we usually go. Good sign I suppose.

I am the winner of the apathy contest. I have done nothing about Christmas, nil, zilch, zero!! I might think about Christmas cards this weekend. If it does not hurt my brain I might write in them. Speaking about what to write, we receive cards from people with their annual family report included. It is really interesting reading the saga of a family you only communicate with once a year. No idea who is who, or what. I'm all for Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Aunty and OH.

Evening all. Have not long got back form our local history society Xmas do. I won the most eyecatching hat competition. No it was not my crown or my tin hat :-D but a rather fetching number I knocked together myself. After doing the Rainbow party early evening then the other do I am cream crackered so I will catch you all tomorrrow.

ps, Yidarmylass won a raffle prize of 3 Racing Snails. Made me think it must be about time we revived our snail racing.

Nite nite one and all <3

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Dec 2011 09:04

Racing Snails? Is that a toy, cos most people would not be happy to have real live ones as a raffle prize. The RSPCA might have something to say as well! congratulations on winning the most flamboyant hat competition - what was your prize then? ;-)

RMS - put your heating on! With 2 elderlies living at home, it is pretty important to keep them warm, let alone yourself!!!

YG has an excuse for being behind herself this year - works full time AND has been AWOL for time. :-) We are ahead of ourselves with the gifts and outside lights, but behind with the cards; they are normally done the 1st weekend of the month even if they aren't posted straight away.

OH wants to go food shopping today, but the outside upright freezer really needs defrosting - an awkward situation as I also want to start getting 25 Dec consumables. :-(

Don't worry about the Sopping - perhaps the heat was getting to you Aunty? :-D

Hi all.

I don't buy food on the 'net either, I like to see what I'm getting.

We have a quiet Christmas day but very busy in the run-up to Christmas because all the family and close friends come to visit. We have different people here every day for about 2 weeks.

Shows how observant I am, didn't notice Aunty wrote 'Sopping'............. I just read it as shopping!!

LG, are we going to get a photo of the eye-catching hat?

3 racing snails!! Does this mean that Yidarmylass will have a head start on the snail race?

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 7 Dec 2011 11:50

morning all well i was supposed to go to the pub with staff and tenents yesterday but as it was my shift one of ours backed out so i had toast for tea and helped the other one get ready
Shopping lol doing OK had an eye test this morning so as my eyes are ok i am sending Naomi some cash as well as a shoe box of bits and bobs lol .
Froggy is busy at weekends so my job does have its pros cos we can hopefully find time in the week however this week he is calling down Friday afternoon until midday sat as that is all that matches shift wise this week .
Had an appraisal yesterday which was quite encouraging
LG how are the little ones ?
Aunty I am glad Spot is ok and the sopping is ok lol could be sobbing if you spend too much .

YG

YG Report 7 Dec 2011 18:13

Thank you for offering excuses for me DET!! I knew there had to be a reason why I was lagging behind!! I still haven't progressed any further with the tree, but it looks pretty with just the fairy lights on!! I will get round to it, I promise!!

Three snails!! That's a bit generous isn't it! Surely two would have sufficed to race each other!

Sopping, Aunty!! Perhaps Maz could be right and we will be sobbing when we realise how much we have spent :-D :-D

Belated birthday wishes to Bob! Where is my chocolate brazil??

Barbra, I am having a quiet Christmas Day too. I will make up for it on Boxing Day though with the two gchildren :-D

LG, photo required please. We need proof that the award was justified!! :-D
