Well done Maz! No trolley or car parking rage, one hopes?

I'd toyed with the idea of getting a hair cut on a 'drop in' appointment, but have decided to go with the shaggy dog look this year - lol I'd probably spend as long queuing for a village parking space as I would a hair dresser.

The milkman has stuffed up :-|

Instead of 4 pints, I have 5, and more irritating is.........NO CREAM.
So unless he does an extra delivery tomorrow, one of us will have to brave the shopping mayhem.

BM has decided he may not come tonight as the traffic c16:00 out of London was horrendous. He may still turn up today, but late, after dining on Pizza. Anyone for a plate of stew?

Oh my goodn ess, shops already starting to stock new spring range!! Can we please get over Christmas & New Year first!!! There is still plenty of time for snow yet!!! I wanted a new top, but no chance!! They are also preparing for the sales starting on Boxing Day :-P

My friend sent a text on her way to work this morning to say that she had been to Sain* to do her shopping and they were very busy. I groaned, but when I got there around 9.30ish it was ok, busy, but not like sardines, so I think everyone had decided to go very early! It worked for me!!

Evening LG. I am alright, I think, thank you!!

I am just getting ready to pop under the duvet though!! Fur got me up at six this morning, so I am past my sell by date now and I have a busy morning coming up doing the baking, oh joy!!

Other than nipping up the road to the local butchers to pick up my meat, I am not moving out of the bungalow tomorrow! A lovely day at home, with nothing to think about! Shopping all done, pressies all wrapped, so 'chill time' is on it's way!

Sleep well and hope to catch you about :-D :-D :-) :-) <3

Hi YG. My butcher delivered my meat :-D :-D. I was up early too as I had mini Gooners for the morning as H was on an early shift. We made Xmas cookies and the whole kitchen was covered in biscuit dough and icing :-(. But we had a really great time :-D.

Nite nite catch you tomorrow <3

Morning all - and Happy Christmas especially to Aunty as she will be the first of us to see it :-)

The cream dilemma has been solved. PC has been on 'night's and stopped off at A*sda on her way home. The place was heaving (at 0745!) with some people doing their main shop even then! She got the last of the double cream there, and then went to Sains for the single. There was only half a tray left and the shelf stacker said that they weren't expecting any more deliveries. Pity those people who had left it until today, expecting there to be stocks.

Maz - enjoy your day with Frog, and mind that Father Christmas doesn't wake you as you bed down on the settee tonight. <3

Good morning to you all, and just in case I don't get on tomorrow................ Merry Christmas!!! :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 Hope you all have a lovely time.

DET, my hubby went to the shops this morning (about 2 hours ago) to get a couple of things I forgot, and he hasn't come back yet!! He won't be pleased with me when he comes home.

Edit: He's just come back.................... and he got the wrong thing :-( :-( :-( :-(

Best send out the search party and have a warming drink and snack ready for when he does eventually get home!

OH and I are toying with the idea of going to the local but large shopping centre this afternoon. We'll sit and have a coffee and watch the (mainly) males scamper frantically from shop to shop trying to find something to give to their partner - lol.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 24 Dec 2011 09:15

Oh Bum! Take a deep breathe and work around it :-0

PC was saying that she is cross with the full time staff at work. They try to make Christmas day a bit special for the clients/patients, pushing the tables together and decorating them, buying Crackers and a gift from the Ward for each person.

No one has bothered to do it this year - how mean is that? They had an unexpected emergency admission on Wednesday - no relatives therefore no family gifts, and too late for the Secret Santa. What a miserable day for him.

That's a brilliant prezzie Maz :-D Once you've got used to it, there'll be no stopping you. Enjoy your Service later.

Beef part cooked (beef wellington to be put together in the morning)
Ham boiled to an inch of its life - sandwiches
Turkey roasted - its only one of those in a foil tray out of the freezer cabinet, to cut for sandwiches

I think BM will be going home on Wednesday with a doggy bag - lol

OH to help peel spuds etc later, and even BM has offered his assistance in the morning! (if he doesn't have a hang over, that is - lol)

Pleased to see you are getting the men involved DET!! Well done!!

As I will only be cooking for myself tomorrow, I am leaving the veg to prepare until morning. I am half watching ET and will cook a sirloin steak for tea and have it with some salad. I might even open the wine or have a glass of Bail**'s Irish Cream on the rocks!!

Morning all and a very Merry Christmas to you all.

I have been having mega internet problems. Managed to get on a couple of times but it always disconnects. Have replaced the splitters on the phone lines and move the pay TV thingy to the other phone socket. Seems to be working now.

Anyway.....Roll on this special day. I have a bit more unmentionable to do first thing this morning. Son and DIL arriving early to help with last minute preparations. I know Santa has arrived because I took a sneak look.

Re- shopping I also found that many shops had run out of things before yesterday. They were already moving non Christmas merchandise in to fill the gaps on the shelves.

Will come back later and say hi!
