What time is it over there??
Hey DET. There is also the square moisture absorber which you are supposed to remove from under the roast before you put the roast in the oven. Never mind. Your beef wellington probably stayed in its preferred shape because of the string. And remember string is only vegetable fibre anyway.
I have now played with all my Christmas presents. House is back into order, fridge is tidy and left overs sorted. I have done an extra walk to make up for not going to fitness and for eating too much.
And YG. I have just found your poem. I knew I had seen it somewhere. Ha!! That is going on my FB page as well. I drives people crazy, I does.

Do mean that added layer of texture wasn't part of the animal? ;-) It's Ok, that was discarded earlier !
Glad to hear that everything is back to normal. To a certain extent its always a relief - 'special' china put away, able to see what is lurking in the fridge, and homes found for all those thoughtful presents. I was given a pair of slippers and a calender, which I genuinely wanted, as well as lots of Ama*on or other bookshop vouchers. That ought to see me through, reading wise, to the end of 2012 :-D
Morning UK'ers - hope you all had a good day in your own ways.

Your life seems to have turned to excitement Maz. Sitting up in a sleeping bag with official company, helping you polish off four cans of confiscated beer. Hope you had some crackers and cheese to go with that. Hmm my job is becoming boring, are there any vacancies in your career!!!?? Just joking, and please keep yourself safe at those times.
I have timed my move perfectly. I can now take over the throne room, remove all the tacky Christmas decorations I can not remember anyone putting up, and have a little rest before the troops arrive. Nut Lodge looks a little worse for wear these days. We did start renovations a while back back there was insufficient enthusiasm for the project. Then again perhaps one should not try to renovate one's comfortable castle. The throne is still very comfy, and I have removed a snarling, scratching object from beneath.
Hope you have all recovered from your festivities. It is just another day here now. Things are back to normal, and there are now 363 or so days to Christmas.

I have come landing home with the turkey carcass from my son's!! Don't think I have a saucepan big enough to boil it up in, but I will attempt it in the morning and make some soup!!
Maz, you know full well that uniformed men belong to me!!! Why do you insist on snaffling them when you are alone and in your pjs!!!!
DET, what are you like!! But you could have charged extra for the garnishing!!
Is LG still buried under wrapping paper! It's time she tunnelled her way out! :-D :-D :-D

Gee it's quiet on this here thread.
Hi RMS, Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
I needed a nanna nap today. Certain it was as a result of over everything, Overwork, overeating, overdrinking, overunmentionable, overexercise. Feel better now.
Do you think LG might have run away to be a soccer player. YG and I have managed to occupy the throne room for several hours now.

Morning all
You do lead an exciting life Maz. I told PC about the little problem at work; she grinned and nodded wisely ;-)
At least you don't have to do 2 to 1 if someone gets out of hand - you ship 'em off to a place like hers! Have you done your restraint training yet? Although you probably couldn't manage it by yourself, 2 or even better 3 people could.
Enjoy the Turkey soup YG, and glad that you were able to go visit family yesterday. We have Christmas Mark 2 today............where I'm hoping to get some of my washing done - lol.
Ooo RMS. Are you living dangerously? Happy Christmas. :-)
Strange how tiredness catches up at 'our' age, isn't it? A Nana nap isn't such a bad idea. ;-)
Off to hit the shower. Catch you later, perhaps.

Well one thing's for sure, Maz............ you'll never be bored in that job.
I think all those uniformed men will be too much of a temptation for YG........... she'll be filling the application form in right now.
I'm finding it difficult to type because I have to keep stopping to wipe my nose. I managed to avoid all the bugs going around................ but only up until Christmas morning. I've now gone through 4 boxes of tissues and I look like Rudolph. :-( :-( :-( :-(
Have a nice day everyone......... :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3

Morning everyone.
Yet another beautiful day here. It beats the summer big time!! (Well, almost!!) :-D Taking advantage and doing some washing.
Been busy 'synching' my Ipod Shuffle! I can now join the ranks of employees sitting all day with their earplugs in!! Don't know how well I will get on with it as I am not keen on earplugs, but it is the only option we have at work to listen to music and it sure helps the day go by :-D :-D
Merry Christmas RMS!! I think LG must have run of with a player after all!

Morning all. Christmas greetings David. Sorry to hear about the wheels, let me see "something reliable". A Zonda, or a Ferrari, or a Land Rover, or a London taxi. Or get the Passat repaired.
Still no LG. Now I know she's left her domicile and runned off with a fellow wearing red and white striped underboofers. The team will be one person short for the next game. Very unthoughtful of her methinks!!
Hi Pauline, Christmas wishes to you as well. Glad it is all over, it was happy but hectic.

Evening All, and Happy New Year to David. I swear by Nissans as reliable and going on for ever. OH has a Honda Civic which has done him proud, for a number of years taking him 200 miles a day round the M25.
Cor, Did Father Christmas bring YG an iPod shuffle? Congratulations on being able to drive it. I'm still having problems with my v basic mobile phone - lol
Please don't sneeze in this direction Pauline. What a b*mmer getting a cold at this time of year. Fingers crossed it clears up quickly.
Now exactly where has that LG got to? She can't still be out visiting the grandchildren, can she?
Aunty, its too soon to take down the decorations. Either cleared 31 Dec just in time to see in the New Year, or 12th Night ie 6 Jan.

Ah ha the great decoration debate. I must say I agree with you about when to take them down, however it is when you put them up which decides when you take them down. The decorations I mean. Back in the olden days we used to put up the decorations on Christmas Eve and take them down on New Year's Day.
Nowadays the putting up bit is getting earlier and earlier. In fact in this neck of the woods some people put up their decorations after our Christmas pagent which is in the first week in November. Dopey to the nth degree. This year we put ours up about the second week in December so by Christmas Day we are through with admiring our efforts, and just want the house back to normal. Everything in its place syndrome.
Now, I have had a major breakthrough with OH. We need to do something with our lounge room floor covering. Previously OH has resisted all my pleas and tantrums about replacing the carpet, and positively refused any alternative. He said we need to wait until Spot "goes", then because we aren't having another sabre toothed tiger (his words to my cackled "in your dreams"), I can replace the carpet.
It is getting to the stage that anyone who visits leaves with a coating of fluff, no matter how many times I vacuum. So after an amicable discussion, you have to pick your moment with men, I have been granted dispensation to do something about it. The only proviso being that while the job is being done OH will take himself off fishing somewhere. Truly sometimes the man is brilliant.
So, I have decided to replace the carpet with floorboards. Easy to vacuum/sweep/mop, STT hair won't bond with the wood. I can have it match the door frames, and go up the passageway from the front entrance. Whoops, forgot to mention that bit to OH. Well I can't have tiles in the kitchen, wood in the lounge, bricks in the entrance and carpet in the passage now, can I??!
I have been saving for a new carpet so hopefully my budget will stretch to cover the cost of all this. Will take a bit of organising and nope I don't think Blondie and I will tackle it by ourselves. However, she did mention removing the brick tiles in the passageway!!!

Oh fer goodness sake. RMS!!! Please don't tell us you have kidnapped LG and whizzed her off to the frozen icicles of them mountains of yours.
Aunty gets out the paint cans, blue, yellow, green, and grabs a four inch paint brush. There is one way of returning her majesty to the fold. Aunty starts painting the throne room, and gleefully eyes the throne!! That will be next!!
Good to see the dragon back YG. We could arrange gremlin and dragon matches. No perhaps not my gremlin would destroy your cute little dragon!!
