MORNING!! I'M NOT SNOOZING!! :-D

Fur decided to have a mad half hour this morning, chasing each other round the house and over the bed, so I decided to get up before I had another black eye from Muffy's claws tearing my eyelid! :-D :-D

Happy New Year RMS! Hope it's a good one for you. :-)

I've been busy doing unmentionables and am just having a tea break before starting on the xmas tree! My mother was always supersticious and left it until 5th Jan, but it doesn't seem to make any difference to my life whenever I take it down!! :-D :-D :-D

Enjoy your 3rd xmas day DET!!

Just below the moon in the sky is the planet Venus.Always visible in the East early in the evening.

If you look to the west low in the sky there is another vivid planet visible.
Which one is it please?

YG Report 2 Jan 2012 18:00

David, is it Jupiter?

Hi Maz. Pleased you had a good shift and missed the mischief!!!

I have been busy and got all the decs down now. My tree has given up the ghost on the bottom section, so looks like I will be paying for a new one next Christmas. Pity really because it was still really good apart from three stems having come out and I can't fix it myself.

YG Report 2 Jan 2012 19:53

I'm not sure I'm right Maz!! I know Jupiter is very close to the moon tonight and that Venus set down early evening. That's about the extent of my astrologial knowledge!!

I have about seven days holidays left to take before the end of March, but not sure when I'm taking them yet. Don't want to go back tomorrow as we are now very short staffed until the end of March and beyond.

Retail therapy today. Blondie and I are off to Harbourtown and then Ikea. I know you compute Ikea. Harbourtown is the designer label outlet for discards and useless items of clothing no one would buy from the proper shops, and other stuff you can not live without.

I will return exhausted, impoverished, and hopefully with a few garments I will still like tomorrow.

It is lovely and coolish this morning. Must be about 25 C with a hint of rain. The dams are about 10% emptier judging by all the water I have drunk in the last three days.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 2 Jan 2012 20:03

Enjoy the retail therapy today - and good luck finding the sizes you want. If you are stick thin, or extra large, you may be in luck, but we find that there is nothing worth having in the average sizes :-0

PC came home grumpy from yesterdays stressful shift - Their behaviour must be something to do with the time of year. Are thinking of visiting Mum during your time off?

You'll be fine YG - you're just like Aunty and thrive on the challenge.

The diet starts tomorrow with a vengence, now that all festive meals are out the way, and left overs consumed.

Wakey Wakey! Someone must be up and about! No late night posting from LG - lightweights, the lot of you :-D

Do you think Aunty is lost in the Mall car park, or has collapsed under the weight of shopping bags? :-)

Mazfromnorf Report 3 Jan 2012 10:26

Morning all ,I have packed all the deccies away ,cleaned a loo ,coffee break before attacking the shower and kitchen .Baby kitty has discovered the fun of a tap lol everytime we wash up he is there and playing with the flow of water fun initially but makes a mess
PC will no doubt be stressed too we have two reviews this week . I wish the social workers would listen sometimes instead of coming up with bright ideas lol

Take care if you have to go out today - its pretty windy out there! I'm waiting for the plastic greenhouse to take off again :-0

We are planning to go food shopping, but may wait until mid afternoon when the worst in our neck of the woods should have passed over.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 3 Jan 2012 12:33

hi windy lol its awful our recycling is everywhere lol

YG

YG Report 3 Jan 2012 17:17

Lightweights DET!!!! Not me, I was up at 6am and out by 7.30!

First day over, thank goodness. I don't know about rising to the challenge of being short staffed. I am pretty hacked off with the way our company operates internally. But it is a long story!

It is pretty windy here too, although I have known it be a lot worse, so am thankful for small mercies!!

I think LG must be still searching for her 2012 avatar! Not sure about Aunty. Perhaps she is buried under all those retail therapy bags
:-D :-D

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 3 Jan 2012 17:52

well at least its the first day over then lol
I have a double shift tomorrow lol

YG

YG Report 3 Jan 2012 19:17

Oh lol, Maz!! I don't know how you do double shifts!!

Some years ago, (well quite a lot of years, actually!!!) I used to work full time in an office, finishing at 5pm then home for a quick cuppa and change, then down to a friend's cafe and work 3 shifts per week from 6 till 10pm.

I wouldn't want to do it now!!

Shopping was not too bad. Came home with a couple of dresses I quite like, and I particularly like the price. Also came home with some nethergarments which I fear may be a tad smaller than required. Oh well more reasons to lose a couple more kilos.

Now girls we don't do diets. We do healthy eating and portion control. Just remember do not eat anything which tastes nice. Everything which tastes boring can be eaten' so broccoli, brussel sprouts, and all the vegetables, lettuce, tomatoes, and all the salads, protein, including chicken, beef, lamb, and the not meat proteins. You can also have dairy so long as it is low fat, but no icecream because it tastes nice.

Must admit Christmas messed up my healthy eating a little. Once I start back on the "BAD" things it is difficult to remove them from the diet again. So in summary: nothing with sugar, or added sugars, eat smaller meals, trim the fat off the meat, and if you are hungry between meals add a protein shake or fruit smoothie to the plan.

And if you are hungry, eat!!

Who let the Gremlins out? Oh, its Aunty!

Glad you had a succesful shopping trip - when we went last week, I bought a reduced pair of trousers (which need turning up) and a black skirt both for work work. Don't want to go over board in the clothing department, in the hope that the smaller sizes in the wardrobe will fit in the not too distant future.

We also got a wand blender, reduced to half price :-D

The first week back at work always seem to be more tiring than normal. All you can do with the short staff situation is it work as normal. No one is superman (or woman).

PC used to do 'long days' but the PCT abandoned the practice. She used to be shattered, but it did mean she could fit her hours in to 3 working days instead of 5. I'd imagine it was quite a struggle for YG to up and at 'em after having had a sit down.

YG

YG Report 3 Jan 2012 20:12

Ooh Aunty, you do realise that your new nethergarments will be subject to having all the elastic removed. In these hard economic times, we can't afford to buy new stuff for the catapult :-D :-D

I planned to start some 'healthy eating', but am overrun with choccies from Christmas. Thought I might take them into work to get rid of them, but others have had the same idea and a whole large box of Ferrer** R's has kept coming round this afternoon.

:-D :-D

Now, I wonder if DET is lurking again, or perhaps LG has risen from wherever she is hiding!!

I am going to settle down on the throne with my last cuppa of the day and then snuggle up for a peaceful night's sleep.
