Never a dull moment.

Our lightning trip to Hahndorf began with a detour via Melba’s Chocolate Factory. Pardon while I wipe the dribble marks from the front of my shirt. What terrible punishment for a reformed chocaholic. Once in Hahndorf our morning included a very nice lunch and quick run up and down the main street. We were allotted an hour for shopping. When we arrived home OH noticed we had a visitor. A pink and grey galah was sitting in the yard. Few minutes later it was clinging to the front screen door. We introduced ourselves, gave it bird seed and water. It bit OH, and decided it liked K. and me, discerning bird obviously belongs to a woman. After discussion and a photo shoot I was sent down the local pet shop to acquire a suitable cage. Walked into the pet shop, made my enquiry, and discovered the bird belonged to one of the staff and had escaped yesterday afternoon. The bird’s mum followed me home with a carrier basket, at which the bird took one look and refused to go quietly. We then played catch the galah until the silly galah exhausted himself and I think was quite pleased to give in. Happy Mum and bird have departed and we have settled down to a quiet reviving cuppa!!

That sounds a really interesting day, with the highlight of the visiting Galah seeming to out-way the chocolate factory! You sound disappointed that it was reunited to its Mum rather quickly; does this mean that you are considering acquiring one for yourself? They are certainly beautifully birds, and not too raucous.

OH was supposed to get up 90 mins ago at the same time as me; time for the saucepan and wooden spoon (evil grin)

morning just well i was up and got organised i have done the swearing but then looked at the kitchen tops cupboards etc rearranged them now i have a pile of stuff on the table to rehouse lol this is coffee break while th efloors dry lol

Aunty, do you not think you have enough problems with one male species, without adopting another lol!! :-D :-D

Well I suppose you could always keep a roll of duct tape handy to secure the beak!! :-D :-D :-D

Ooooh DET, that really was a wicked grin!! Hope the saucepan lid was a big one!! :-D

I'm really worried about Muffy tonight and think I am getting close to losing her now. I was really optimistic after she had her abtiobiotics as she picked up really well. Since yesterday though she is having problems with her mouth and she is worse tonight. I am due to go back on Wednesday teatime but might see if I can change the appointment to tomorrow.

Awww Bless, keep me posted as to how she is. Much as we moan about the fur they always tug at the heartstrings.

Mmm. I know. I've got to know their personalities and traits and love them to bits. I'll let you know when I've been to the vets.
