G'day Sylvia. Welcome to Nut Lodge. Help yourself to refreshments, a suite, a corner of the throne, and remember to duck if you hear a whooshing sound or anything which sounds like warbling by a demented esteemed personnage.

For goodness sake you lot. I had to go stand outside under the fierce rays of a hot January sun to remind myself it was not minus anything. How can you lot survive in temperatures like that. Oh well needs must do or some such truism.

Away with your coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. I feel like a wowser, denying myself life's little indulgences. Drank a very small glass of soft drink today and had to mentally flail myself for doing so. The weight is coming off in regular mini-grams, or whatever the smallest metric weight happens to be. I am also four belt notches down, providing I don't need to breath when I tighten the belt.

Have received my info on Mr Hill. Nothing to become excited about except that for the first time I have an actual date of birth. There are 67 pages of documentation most of which I have seen from his war service records. I would have preferred a family tree set out showing his parents, grandparents, great grandparents x 2 sets . However, that is not to be and I am grateful for these little snippets of information.

Off to have an in-depth read. Fortunately the National Australia Archives leave the documents available on their web site where they may be freely accessed from now on.

Aunty takes off another layer of clothing and goes back to reading.

Lucky you Aunty !!. Not to bad temeperature wise here today it is reading about 6 c on the garden thermometre which I can see from the window. As to what the wind chill is adding to that I don't know as I have not stuck my head out of the door yet ;-).

Welcome to Sylvia, nice to have you in our humble abode. Take no notice what they say about my singing it's a delight to the ears :-D. It's just because they have no taste for my music. A bit of Queen and Gooner football chants never hurts anyone :-P :-D

Yooo Hooo back again! Couldn't get the monitor to connect to computer up PC sorted it out. And she did exactly the same as me. Grrr.

Now does that mean Maddie lives near where the red and white people play, or from where they originated?

Quick wander, then off to sort out the de-frosted outside freezer.

Bye

Just mind they don't turn the cold water hoses on you YG. Though if you are up there with a fireman you may need it. ;-)

AuntySherlock Report 19 Jan 2012 19:36

Driving to work, work yesterday morning. See smoke in the distance and as I pass by I notice that someone's green plastic wheelie bin was smoking, and melting internally. The next set of lights are red, and we sit there and wait, and wait. Oh no thinks I they couldn't!! But yes they have, in a few more minutes, around the corner comes the fire engine. Siren blaring, lights flashing, red and blue, and filled with firemen. Yes, they had been called to the rubbish bin fire. Would it not have been easier to grab the garden hose, stick it in the bin, and turn on the tap. Then again, in that area of suburbia, there probably aren't many garden hoses to be had in a hurry. And more importantly it would have prevented my early morning drool and a little giggle that YG wan't there!!!

Morning all. another hottish day. OH has an eye specialist appointment and I have my fingers crossed he won't need any treatment. He is not so optomistic. Think we might have good old fish and chips for tea. Will save me messing about cooking in this heat.
