I live and work near where the Red and White people are now.

Not where they come from across the River.

I can remember when Herbert Chapman was a lad.
lol

:-D

YG Report 19 Jan 2012 20:30

You can go right off people you know!! :-D :-D

Good evening Mo. Who on earth is Herbert Chapman!!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 19 Jan 2012 20:37

Jump in the catapult Maz and whizz yourself over. You can spend the afternoon relaxing on my back verandah, picking strawberries, and partaking of a glass of champagne, or two to wash them down.

Everyone knows who Herbert Chapman is. He is Mrs Chapman's son!!

YG

YG Report 19 Jan 2012 20:59

Ahhh, but he could also be Mrs Chapman's OH!!

Don't I get an invite as well, Aunty!! There might be some bins on fire! :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 19 Jan 2012 23:39

Been slaving over a hot computer amongst US records for someone who shall remain nameless for the last 4 hours .............and you've been eating strawberries. S'not fair!!! :-0

What a nifty trick those down under emergency service vehicles have, to turn the traffic lights in their favour. Over here, they have to pray that people have heard the siren and moved to the side of the road as they are meant to. Actually, as a passenger in a blue light ambulance, it was amazing to watch the vehicles in front part like the waves.

Good luck Aunty's OH, and hope he doesn't come home grumpier than usual.

Sorry not to have spotted you this morning Sylvia. Welcome.

LG you have mail.

NIght LG.

The attachment to the email helps to pull it all together. I was trying to send the images to both of you at once, so if you have forwarded them as well?? Better too many than none at all. ;-)

SylviaInCanada Report 20 Jan 2012 00:15

Hi all

Thank you all for your welcome

OH is due home in about an hour or maybe two ........ his plane lands in 20 minutes, but he has to go through Customs & Immigration ..... he's been in the UK for a week.

He's coming back just in time for the dump of snow forecast either for over night or early tomorrow morning, so he will get to do the shovelling :-D

Then it will be either freezing rain or rain by tomorrow afternoon

YUKK

He supports Chester, and I used to support 'Latics ............. but I've been over here so long that I've lost interest in soccer.

Now ....... if it were hockey players ................... or those American (or Canadian) football players in their skin tight pants ;-) ;-) ;-)

Our fire engines can control traffic lights immediately outside their fire halls, but not others.

However, ALL traffic has to move over to the right (ie, to the curb) as soon as they hear emergency sirens. If the driver can't get to the side of the road ............ he has to stop where he is, and let the emergency driver get around him. On the wrong side of the road, if necessary

Major penalty if you don't obey. No excuses accepted.

It's quite something to see if you haven't seen it before

There is talk of some express buses being able to control traffic lights in front of them, to speed their journey through town. I'm not sure if that has been brought in though.

Sleep tight everyone who has gone to bed .......................

I'm just about to put my dinner in the oven .......... I'm assuming that himself won't want much after a 10 hour flight from Heathrow, and who knows what time he left Manchester this morning!

Evening all. No signs of any uniforms tonight, so will have to settle down with tv or a good book!!

Weekend at last! Don't even care that it is pouring with rain, dark and cold!! Loving being at home away from the madhouse!!

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 20 Jan 2012 17:32

So instead of the mad house at work, you choose to come the virtual one instead ;-)

Please keep your cold your side of the screen LG - perhaps next time you go to your not eating as much group, you can get them to revise your intake? You get so many colds, may be you need something to boost your immune system.

Fingers crossed that Sylvia's OH made it home safely as well. No doubt there will be a lot to catch up on....and possibly a job with a shovel when he is 'with it'.
