Brilliant Maz. Lets hope the next lot of tenants are more considerate of others. :-)

Back to the flooding. Yes, we do have it when the rivers can't cope, but it's usually because we've had high or heavy rainfall when the ground is sodden. It hasn't been helped by the building on flood plains in recent years. Yes, its must be nice to have a river fronted home, but at the expense of flooding?

There has been talk for years about building a 3rd London Airport in the SE, on the Thames Marshes (Grain, Hoo) or in the estuary its self on a man made island. Lots of arguements about noise, houses being blighted and the wading birds, but the other consideration in my mind is....what's going to happen to the displaced water? It's got to go somewhere!

Off to the in-laws today for lunch....once we get going.

It will be a long time before the building is fit for tenants again it has been wrecked

They won't get their deposit back, but it is unlikey to go anywhere near the clean up cost. Some people have no self pride or consideration. :-0

I got a bit miffed when our tenants moved out as one of the window catches was broken. That was my responsibilty so there was no need to keep quiet. And while they were there, the agents discovered the front wall had been removed. They said that someone had reversed into it, so they had cleared away the debris. Again, it would have been covered by the insurance - we think they did it deliberately so they could get their transit van onto the drive more easily, but no proof. :-|

Thank you LG. Decided to sit here and see if anyhing magical happens if one stays awake at midnight on one's 35th birthday.

Nothing happens. I am here all alone, it is quite chilly, and very quiet. Then I saw your message and it brought a smile to my face. I thank you for your hapy wishes and yes your calendar is spot on!!

I almost wish it wasn't my birthday because it means I am a year older. Strange how, when you are young you can't wait for that next birthday. When you turn 35 the birthdays seem to arrive more rapidly than you would prefer.

Thank you to you all. Yes YG I have your message and thank you Pauline for my singing puppies and stylish greeting. OH has given me my next Ancestry Sub, hmm and probably my GR one as well if I am frugal. I have received a gym shirt and and iTunes card from the granddaughter, and my good friend has given me a book. And it is still only 5.45am.

And I can be 35 if I like, it will make an 'orrible hash of the family tree but who cares!!

I had my regular physio today ............... he tried a new treatment

said it might hurt for a couple of days, but I should then feel much better

The first bit has come true :-(

hence why I am so late putting my head round the door.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 1 Feb 2012 06:31

Thank you SilviaIC. I hope the second part of the physio's prediction also comes true.

I had a busy day at work, have heard from the rest of the family and will have visitors later this evening. OH prepared me a delicious prawn salad tea in celebration. I did not want any cake and he was happy to comply with that request.

It is mild to cool with the promise of warmer temperatures over the next few days.Only a month to go before autumn, then it will be winter and I will be whinging again about the cold. I know, stop wishing the nice weather away and enjoy it while it is there. OK! OK!!
