Things were swept under the carpet in her generation, or talked about in whispers so the children didn't hear - lol

YG Report 3 Feb 2012 17:25

Evening everyone.

Well I am hopefully getting there. The system seems to be doing some automatic updates, so hopefully I am getting near the end.

It has been quite a task, but worth it. Looks like my friend has problems with hers too and she has no idea how to do anything, so could be involved there after our little computer man has been to see what is causing her problems. If it is a full restore, guess who will be busy!!

That's good, Maz. Out of interest, what's the turn around time for GRO at the moment?

Do we detect a bit of 'pworrah going on YG? ;-)

Mazfromnorf Report 3 Feb 2012 18:19

I got mine in about ten days but i have used an offer i got with a at christmas whish has been a good discount

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 3 Feb 2012 18:34

Were are you ordering it from? I thought GRO was a flat £9.25 with no discounts. They are the base source for certificates (apart from the original issuing office)

You aren't (shock, horror) ordering through Ancestry, are you??????

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 3 Feb 2012 20:08

YG Report 3 Feb 2012 23:05

Boo LG!!

Been buried again under updates and backups. I'm sitting here hopping mad now as I set up a full back up, but by the time I got to disc 5 it decided to tell me there was an error! I have been waiting almost two hours for it to complete and I could have been in bed catching up on some well needed sleep!! :-P :-|

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Feb 2012 00:22

There is always another day YG.

And was that LG surfacing from a mound of packing boxes???? ;-)

As you are all probably tucked up in bed by now, catch you tomorrow.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Feb 2012 10:21

Don't over do it LG, or you will take far longer to recover from your current lurgy. :-0

With the promise/threat of snow tonight, we will have to retreive the wellie boots from the shed and put the shovels and grit next to one of the doors. Its unlikley that we will be snowed in, but better safe than sorry :-)

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 4 Feb 2012 10:34

If it snows I will go into hibernation. :-D.

Morning DET, I am not doing too much have no fear ;-). I am mainly the removal driver watching the others do the lugging about :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Feb 2012 10:40

Ah, the supervisor - the best job to have. After all, someone has to see the bigger picture :-D

PC has decided that this year, if we say 'don't come home' she'll stay put. I think she has learnt her lesson after having to be dug out at the end of our drive! She was going to drive down to Deal this evening after a course she is attending, to watch her Boyfriend's band, but as of yesterday had changed her mind. She's got a shovel in the boot, just in case.!! I don't think we ever stop worrying about them even when they are technically adults.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 4 Feb 2012 10:48

Once a parent always a parent :-D. I think I have worried more about them as they have got older than I ever did when they were little. It's easy going when you know who they are with and where they are, now they are off out all over the place.

LaGooner Report 4 Feb 2012 10:58

Oh well off we go again :-D. Off out to a pantomime with Brownies and Rainbows this afternoon. Oh yes I am :-D :-D :-D :-D. Then over to collect last 4 large crates to take to new house. I hopefully will get back on this evening if I don't nod off in the chair.
Have a good day and keep warm <3
