I'm disappointed that the France/Ireland RU Six Nations game in Paris was called off due to a frozen pitch. :-(

Here's hoping that Aunty is enjoying her day out.....perhaps she could encourage OH to rent the Cat out as a wedding car?!

My word it's very quiet in here. Ah well it gives me some quiet time to get on with a fewe refurbishments. Walls repainted curtains hung now to build a new Laser cupboard, broomstick holder, catapult and launcher, rack for the tin hats and flack jackets and then a nice cosy annex for the new CPs. Well that should keep me busy for the day. :-D

Survived the day out. Not as bad as I expected however it is clear my presence is not required by OH on the day. He has his mind on boy talk and does not need an accoutrement female attached to his arm. Luckily I am an independent thinking personage and managed to entertain myself. The fact that other family members also attended made keeping myself from crazed boredom somewhat easier.

The eye candy was quite spectacular, and that does not include the vehicles. I have a tattoo on my right forearm. Oh shoooosh, it is only airbrushed but OH has taken my arm a couple of times and given it a rub and said, "you wouldn't" with a bemused expression on his face. He is right, I wouldn't I can't stand pain.

DET your info about tonic water. Evidently it contains quinine which is what stops the pain. However, medical advice is that a small number of people have an allergic reaction to quinine which reacts with the blood or something. It can be fatal. If you google the topic there is quite a bit of info on it. People still drink the stuff without ill affect.

Yoo-hoo! I’m up! (Just)

Glad to hear that Aunty survived the car rally. If you are superfluous to requirements, at least you have a get out clause next time one is in the offing! Go on, do tell. What airbrushed tattoo do you sport on your arm??? If its still there when you go to work, it will certainly be a talking point.

There is always another time Maz for the Black Cats to get the better of the Gunners, as long as you don’t take it to heart. Its only a game!!!!!!

BM almost crippled OH yesterday with all the walking around London, flat hunting. Goodness knows what state he will be in when he gets up. Mind you, they did spend the latter part of the afternoon in a pub watching the England/Italy Rugby game.....and imbibed a pint or two...or three!!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 12 Feb 2012 10:26

Tonic water is best served with gin and a slice of lemon ;-) That should really take away the pain!!! Its supposed to be quite good for Malaria if you are going to tropical climes!!!

Everything could produce an allergy in a small %age of people - somethings you have to try. A little of what you fancy doesn't normally do any harm. :-D

Yuk quinine dont like tonic water I just get cramp when i am dehydrated .It ususally wakes me in the night .
Aunty Gald you enjoyed your day out The next Gunners versus Black cats is next weekend again at the stadium of light Its my week end off too so will keep away from that area me thinks lol

YG

YG Report 12 Feb 2012 11:26

Can we please have a family of meerkats at Nut Lodge instead of a variety. At least the breeding will be more controllable! :-D :-D :-D

I'm not keen on tonic water, or gin!! I remember Mum being prescribed quinine tablets for her cramps and DET is right, quinine is a vital ingredient of malaria tablets! I should know, I had malaria several times whilst living in Zambia!! At least I survived to tell the tale lol!! :-D Oddly enough, I have just been 'googling' malaria drugs and the one that I was given most frequently apparently provocates psoriasis, so my doctor did not do a good job in giving me that medication!!

I hope your OH can crawl out of bed ok DET and doesn't need a hoist after all that walking! He has my sympathies! But not for the alcohol, you understand!! :-D

Well, 2012 is doing absolutely nothing for me at the moment. £60 for the computer man last week and then yesterday afternoon as I plugged it in, the power supply cable starting arcing. Dashed to the store where it cost me £50 for another power supply The cable is a sealed unit at one end so you have to buy the whole thing! The manufacturers certainly know how to make their money!!

My tat is a small flower, a daisy. Hm it is still there hasn't rubbed off. I think I may have had gin and something to drink way back when OH and I first started going out. I had never drunk alcohol and he was trying to find something I would like. It usually meant me drinking half a glass, and then screwing up my face and going Yuk. Did no good mainly because I really did not and still do not like the sensation of not being in control when inebriated. Very lasting impression because in my 35 and a bit years I have been inebriated about four times.

And yes I am up after the witching hour. Woke up with an attack of the guilts because I have left so much unmentionable undone this weekend. I figured if I spent an hour tidying up I can go back to sleep and have a head start in the morning. So here I am sitting here typing and the unmentionable is over there waiting to be done. I too like meerkats. Not certain how they would go in captivity but we did see them on our fabulous zoo visit !!!! They dig lots of holes.

I'm off like a prawn in the sunshine. And speaking of sunshine we have been promised a week of 30 plus temperatures. About time too!! Bureau of Meteorology should remember this is summer and stop forecasting this miserable weather!! The unmentionable beckons. See you later.

Evening one and all. A very productive day loads of those 'orrible little chores done that usually get put off for another day. Just had dinner and done the dishes so going to sit on my butt for the rest of the evening. :-D

LG you have made a lovely start to the Nut Lodge renovations. You must have been inspired by the Arsenal win. Do you think they will ever change their colours???!!! Never mind I like the pink and grey pastel shades highlighted by that tiny splash of red and white on the fire pole. Brilliant idea of having a loft and a pole. We can keep real firemen up there and they will feel right at home. Especially good if we ever have another fire and explosion.

Aunty thinks she had better leave it at that, retreat and go get ready for work work. Morning walk first and then work work actually. My broken sleep last night was worth it, unmentionable done, less stress this morning.

AuntySherlock Report 12 Feb 2012 20:14

Whoops PS from Aunty.

I received your card Maz. That is I received my card which was your card which I sent on your birthday which you have returned to me. I am hoping it did get there on the day but that you have been really slack looking at your proper emails. It would be aggravating to think it took all this time to whizz through cyberspace. The catapult would have been faster.

LaGooner Report 12 Feb 2012 20:23

Having a rest from renovations this evening as I can't quite decide on a CP so can't decide which size annex to build :-D.
