Same here DET. If he bought me flowers etc I would wonder what he had been up to :-D. Commercial claptrap is what I brand it.

Much hilarity about the tat. Anyway I managed to get it off using eucalyptus oil. I'll bet there are those who would like to remove the real thing as easily. I am now off to do some chopping, pruning and resizing, of a photograph. Tonight is avatar evening. I have chained myself to the computer and decided to find a suitable avatar.

Hmmm I wonder!!!

I can only remember OH buying me flowers once, after eldest was born. And that was because his work mates told him to. When you shook them, the petals fell off :-(

LaGooner Report 14 Feb 2012 09:44

:-D.DET. OH has never bought me flowers. He has bought me loads of plants for the garden instead. I prefer that as when I am out weeding etc all the memories come back to me. Same with the offspring they do it too so lots of happy times to look back on.

What a lovely idea. OH hasn't a romantic bone in his body. He does occassionally buy chocolates, but that's because he fancies them - lol

LaGooner Report 14 Feb 2012 09:55

No sweeties here due to struggle with my weight :-|. Oh buys me all sorts of silly things on the spur of the moment, usually football related, latest one is a new bowl for my cereal BLESS. :-D

How thoughtful :-D Mine doesn't do spontaneity, but then neither do I, so we are suitably matched

So are we, I am spontaneous too. Are you up to anything exciting today ?

The Asthma nurse late this afternoon? They won't renew my repeat prescription until I see her, even though I only use the preventative one. :-(

We are getting like the inlaws - the only things on the calendar are medical appointments - tut.

How about you?

OH has given me several lots of flowers but I don't think I will ever get a Valentine card from him now. One year an orchid to wear to a dance.. and then he won one so he gave that to a woman at his work that was also going to the dance.

We had been married a few years and he sent me a Valentine card.. but as it is not signed (I knew it was from him) I put it away in my drawer and said nothing. He put in a mail enquiry and I had a call from the post office. Him later: Why did you hide it? Me: well didn't want you to get upset as could have been one of my admirers.

Another time he did write in one and on it it said... If you'll be my Hilda, I'll be your Stan... in reference to the Ogdens in Coro.

The competition where he won the orchid was in a shopping mall and contestants had to get up on the stage... and the compere asked him and others what name of meat was on the placard which was facing the audience.. it was veal.. my OH read it in the reflection of a shop window across the square so the others were eliminated. He went on to win a shirt and socks etc but they were skill questions.

Same old routine day the dreaded ,collect littlies from nursery and drop them off at their house. Hopefully I might get a bit of chill out time this afternoon as no Rainbows or Brownies as it is half term.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 14 Feb 2012 10:20

That's a lovely story Persie!

In the early years, I got a friend to post a card to him from oop north to his work address....he never mentioned it - lol

LG, you enjoy having them really..... :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 14 Feb 2012 10:25

Hi Persie, sorry did not see you there. <3.

I will be glad when littlies change to their new nursery no more lunchtime runs so perhaps the diet will go better :-D. I will be having them all morning on Fridays which I am really looking forward to as we can do so much fun things. This will help H and J with the cost and give me valuable Nanna time :-D.
Right must up and away and get stuck in, I will look in later and see who is about. Have a good day / evening one and all <3

There were twelve pages of valentine's day greetings in our local paper. The florists are having a field day. I wonder if we will ever get to the stage where there is not one day left in the year that does not attract some commercialization. Hmm I could name a few special days I'd like to see.......

give up the TV remote day
put the toilet seat down day

and no doubt he will have some we could celebrate

switch the light off after leaving the room day
acknowledge he is correct occasionally day

However there aren't too many spare days left we could use. They have all been taken up in search of removing as much money as possible from the public.

Oh let's have: we have actually run out of money day!!!

By the way meet Spot. If you look closely you can see the scar down the ridge of his leg. By the way his stripes are virtual, they don't photograph!!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 14 Feb 2012 10:30

Ah Bless <3 <3. Glad I just looked in as I am logging off, now I have seen the famous spot. Perhaps his stripes are sunbleached ;-).

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :-D

He had just suffered the indignity of being bathed. Not his favourite activity. Will throw himself into the creek but if OH approaches with a bucket a warm water and the shampoo bottle, watch out.

He will do for my avatar for the time being.

Thought I'd put this link in here. I've locked YG in the padded cell. You will understand why when you take a look.
