On a first scan, it looked as if you were going to dye your hair blonde - lol. Don't worry, about the lapse of memory - there is always the first time. We/I tend to have a blind spot about certain items, thinking we've run out so restock only to find there are plenty on the cupboard. Then later, remind ourselves we have plenty, only to discover we have run out!

Guess what the current blind spot is? OH's Earl Grey tea bags.....he is down to one :-0 Shopping here we come :-(

Here is the lowdown on the Family History "Congress". Major sponsor is FMP (Think I am allowed to say that here). The lecture options sound very enticing and full on. And yes a bit too expensive for my pocket. And all their lovely excursions and expeditions I can do for next to nothing in my own time. I would like to know how much it will cost just to have a look around at the exhibitors. I might rock up one day and see if I can talk my way into the venue. They can only kick me out if I am not successful.

Hi Pauline, welcome back. Glad to see you've managed to grab the computer for a while.

I suppose I'd better confess my latest shopping fiasco. Mine is a case of oversupply not under. I tend to buy the same items each week and often don't check to see if I have sufficient in the cupboard. Latest glut in the laundry cupboard is an embarrassingly large quantity of carpet deodorizer powder. Ummmmm about five cans at last count. Well it won't go off now, will it!!!?

And yes I am awake way past my bed time. Had a nanna nap earlier this evening. Bad move. Now I'm wide awake, well I was an hour ago. I think I'll go play this stupid game I've started for a while. That will put me to sleep.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 28 Feb 2012 13:08

We can see that you are tired Aunty......its on the opening page.

Full registration $495 (4 days seminars and exhibition)
Day registration $145 (1 day seminars and exhibition)
Exhibition Only $10 (1 day entry to the exhibition)

30 odd stalls? Hmm, $10 is probably about right!

Go have a warm drink and try to get some sleep....if it's cooler now.

Our most recent faux-pas was mayonniase...3 large jars and counting :-0. As OH has now used his remaining T-bag and refuses to squeeze it for the next cup, we are about ready for the off!

Strewth! Aussie expression which usually means I've st*ffed up! I missed that piece of information. Excellent I might see if I can go along and have a look see.

As for being tired, slept, well despite my broken sleep last night. Aunty gives a big yawn! Well maybe not. Never mind, I'm breathing and moving which is a bonus.

Morning Aunty - for $10, its probably worth a look-see. Go armed with a list of queries and they may be able to point you to a different resource. Oh, and deep pockets filled with lucre!

Don't know about Aunty being tired, I haven't been 'with it' for most of the day. Blame it in PC.
She took a batter portion of a 'German/Friendship' cake to Uni today. During last night, I was worrying that she'd forget to put the plastic box in a plastic bag, the lid would pop off, and the batter spread all over her papers. So concerned was I, I got up in the middle of the night and put out a clean polythene bag and clip for her to use - lol

We have Trademe... which is similar to e-bay and a pile of rimu runners and a couple of other long pieces of wood were sold last night.. chap came around with a really long home made trailer... I was impressed... I could get a lot of wood on that. We had dismantled a deck (not the one attached to my upper storey window at Nutlodge but another property) and a lot of the decking that was had it went to our neighbours for firewood and we have sold some good stuff.

Then I had to load my green environmental wheelie bin with ivy.. I get asthma so after the ivy had been pulled off the walls of our garage before we put up the new corrugated iron.. I left the ivy sitting on the drive to dry out and then I don't get that spray it gives off down my throat and start funny breathing.

Apart from that I have put a very nice cloche for Puss to grow her strawberries in out the back... It has glass house covering so they should do well in the colder climate... I am about to go and get a few cows that have recently calved so that we can have clotted cream. They will be have the enclosure on the other side of the deer fence and since your blimmin' winters are so cold I have built an American style barn out of redwood and pine.

What are you lot like at hand milking cows as we will only be having a few cows I am not about to set up a herring bone milking machine shed?

T Bags are his domain and he does tend to get carried away with his purchases.. lots of T Bags and nearly every time we go out he gets deodorant, shaving cream and hairspray.

I am wondering about using that pink custard on the walls of the cooler room where I plan to make the cheeses...

I have eaten at that resort once... it is nice. I was there with a group of women friends and we went on a cheap smorgasbord night.

It will be cold down there even in early June... I would need to stay down there and they don't do cheap accommodation.

Will take a look.. thanks Sylvs..

The “Pumice Valley Whoopee! Band” take us on a musical journey around our ancestral lands

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 29 Feb 2012 04:59

wowee!!

are there any cheap motels in the area?????????????????

or do you really want to go for 3 days??

It sounded awfully expensive to me.

Persephone

Persephone Report 29 Feb 2012 05:56

Not wowee... whoopee... LOL..

No it does cost too much. I had a look at what is going on and really is not me.. I would just be going for the chat and I can go and have a coffee with a friend to do that.

It is Queens Birthday Weekend and every man and his dog will be down there for the long weekend.

I have not joined the NZ genealogists whatever society. Did think of helping them out so I would have free access to material but it is away over the other side of the city. What I call a cross-country trip..lots of traffic lights and takes forever.

Hi everybody.

Persie, I used to watch 'All Creatures Great and Small' on the telly.............. so I'm sure I'd be an expert at milking cows the old fashioned way. So you can put my name down for that job. :-)

Seems mild again today, looks like it's going to be another lovely day.

Might get a chance to get back on here after I make breakfast and sort my son out.
