It's turned very cold here this afternoon and rain plus even colder temperatures for the weekend. Oh joy, I hope it doesn't stay around for long as I am on holiday next week! One more sleep!!!!! Am I excited??? Of course!!!! :-D :-D :-D

Oh? On holiday as in going away? You sure kept that one quiet!

We did go out, but not a long distance out, it that makes sense. As OH had forgotten to get his Mum a card for Sunday, we went to Sains to buy it, and take advantage of their 2 x roast dinners for £7.50. He had beef, and I had 1/2 a (small) roast chicken. Mine was certainly better value for money :-D

Taking advantage of the good weather (18.4c in the nearest town) I dragged him off for a walk on the marshes made famous by Great Expectations, and under threat from Boris island and other mad cap schemes. A large part is a nature reserve/water bird sanctuary as there are a number of water filled ex-quarries. I got my L muddled from my R with driving instructions, and he got his E confused with his W when we were about to start off on the walk. I think we can call it quits !!!!!

In all, we walked about 4.75 miles, peeling off layers of clothing as we went, which is pretty good for us. (the walking that is, not the shedding of clothes - lol) We certainly ought to sleep well tonight, although how our muscles will feel in the morning is another matter :-0

Sounds as though you had plenty of exercise today DET!! Nice weather though. They said on the news that some parts had the hottest day of the year today, but it missed us!!

I'm not going away unfortunately, but am thrilled to be having time off work. The only problem is that I am leaving a backlog that will have doubled in size when I get back.

I'm hoping that I might get away again later in the year with the same friend, but it is dependant on her finances and time available. She is due to become a grandmother for the first time in July, so she might not want to leave her daughter!

I am back and whoopie dooooo 2 pounds lighter :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.

Time off work doing your own thing, is a good as a rest. If the baby is due in July, she might be willing to fit in a holiday at the beginning of June, or a couple of months after the birth. There could be some last minute deals you could take advantage of. :-)

yeh i agree it is just playing in my plastic green house i could pretend i was on the beach, as there is no windows, the hum of the passing cars on the b road sound like the waves on the sea xx :-0 oh well it does for me lol. :-D

Thanks at last it is starting to shift again it has been stuck for a couple of weeks and I was really getting the hump :-|

Had to dash off because my son phoned and it's always a long call!! He usually rings when he is driving down to the office or back home and it helps relieve the boredom of the journey!! He has got hands-free, btw!!

Mine called in on his way home from work today which is unusual. A nice surprise though.

I'm visiting them tomorrow night for Mother's Day.

I feel very sorry for them at the moment as they have had a really tough time with a school issue regarding the littlie and I am still absolutely gobsmacked by events. I can't go into any more details on here, but suffice it to say that it has reduced him to tears over the past few weeks

Oh dear YG, I am so sorry to hear that, I do hope everything works out ok for them.

It absolutely poured all last night and this Morning (ie Wednesday night/Thursday morning) ................. it was almost boating weather downtown :-D
