Morning Nut Lodgers!!

It's raining here, although the sun is trying to get through! Dont' think I will be grass cutting today!!

Sounds as though you are going to be busy DET!! Get the mops and buckets out!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Apr 2012 10:05

Morning YG - you're right :-(

Instead of only cleaning the downstairs for tomorrows vistors, the whole house has to be done now as he is bringing his sort of 'intended'. One must make the effort, mustn't one?

The grass will wait for the weather to clear. Hopefully we will get some rain Sun/Mon - OH is working up to digging out the proposed paved area but the ground is rock solid.

Morning campers where ever you are this sunny day [not] hope all are enjoying their time off from the hum drum ratrace.
A certain lady on here needs to think on ,that if she snaffles any of the bairns eggs instead of waiting for her own to arrive ,will be sent a spitting snarling ball of fur all the way from Tyneside to bite her bum :-|.not allowed he he ,.
Mind you ,with 15 eggs upstairs waiting for Fred to be well enough to deliver them ,i'm having to sit on my hands ,lol :-).
Plenty of biccies though Puss ,only the oat biscuits though ,but they are supposed to be good for you ,wan't one?
Having a lot of bother with the puter today ,so i am off before it has an eppy ,or worse ,catch you later all ,Fred. :-).

What are you still doing on here then!!! That vacuum cleaner is waiting, along with the dusters and polish. It needs to be spick and span :-D :-D

Do tell me, when you have time over the next few days, how your OH is going to lay the paving stones, i.e. whether he is using bonding agents, cement or whatever!! I was reading up on a well known stone suppliers web site last night and I began to wonder whether my naked gardener could manage to lay them properly if I decide to go for a circular pattern!

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Apr 2012 10:33

Still here ;-)

He was going to dig it out about 2 to 3 inches and put down a layer of sand, then sweep in a mixture of dry sand and cement between the cracks.

To do it 'properly', I think you have to dig down about 4 inches or so, lay a compacted foundation of small rubble and build on that.

Because of the tree roots, we know there will be quite a lot of movement; the effort isn't worth it especially as the only weight it will have to bear is the patio table. Its quite a small area, about 3 foot diameter

We don't 'do' Easter Eggs, Fred. But you and Puss, enjoy yours! :-)

YG

YG Report 7 Apr 2012 11:15

Thanks DET. Mine is also a small area just for the table and chairs.

Oooh, naughty me!! I snaffled one small egg last night!! I didn't really expect more than one, two at most, but have come home from work with three and a chocolate bunny!! And I still haven't seen the family yet!

Perhaps I should send them to Aunty as she is a chocoholic, or maybe Fred could make use of them to munch on!!

Morning LG and Fred!!

I'm gone now to do some jobs!! Have a good day everyone :-) :-) :-)

Happy Easter to those who celebrate - have a good bank holiday for those who don't <3 :-D

We have a houseful today, almost as bad as the previous Holy Day. I'm trying to look at it as a larger Sunday Roast - beef and trimings with a purchased dessert. Shouldn't be too bad.

Fred - Eldest's OH is type 2...or it might have been a missed Type 1. In either case, he injects insulin and ups the dose if he has a bit of chocolate. Although its better to avoid sweet things, a very small bit of 'ordinary' chocolate is OK on occassions. Mother-in-law has age related type 2. She does make us laugh by saying she shouldn't eat whatever, then says, "Oh, alright. I'll have a piece." LoL.

A brief wander around the boards then off to peel a mountain of spuds - 8 to sit down at lunch. Eek!

Have a good day.
