Good morning all - and what a wet one. From the forecast, it would seem that all laundry will be dried indoors for the foreseeable future! That could be why Rainbows were so noisy last night...they couldn't get outside to let off steam during the day.

And quite right too! A is an adult and should be taking responsibilty for the mess when you aren't there by putting away the things he has got out in the communial areas, and tidying up the kitchen when he has eaten.

We may moan about PC, but as she spends most of her time in her room, most of her 'stuff' stays in there for which she takes responsibility. Since her bed takes up most of the space, she is remarkably tidy with her things.

Admittedly she doesn't do any general cleaning, but always puts her plates etc in the dishwasher and has emptied it without being asked more times than OH. Although I do her laundry, if for some reason I haven't she puts it in her self. But it is her responsibility to iron it, if she so wishes.

Have they taught you to give injections? Although They keep asking PC to go on that course, she is needle-phobic and won't :-0

I really admire peolpe like you, after bringing my son up with aspergers, i remember being at breaking point, it took 13 yrs for a diagnosis from a new doctor.

I would do it all again for the young man he is is today and has learned himself how to deal with his feelings

people who dont know him just think he is a bit deep but he likes to understand everything said to him

one of my coping mechanisns was everytime i said something to him, i would then say did you understand what i said he mostly didnt, that was a massive brick wall we broke down, as i would explain in detail what i was saying.

I'm here! :-D

OH keeps hogging the PC to draw circuit boards. The sooner he is satisfied with the design, the better as far as I'm concerned. he has even skipped on taking his turn on the kitchen for the last couple of weeks :-|

Sorry to hear the weather is having a bad effect on you Maz.

Puss - when I worked with ASD teenagers, it was surprising the number whose parents had divorced; they strain tore them apart. Not an easy condition to live with. The ASD person can't be 'cured' but they may be able to develop or learn coping strategies. One size does not fit all. Well done for helping your son in his journey through life. ;-)
