Well in between the showers I have managed to get some washing done and dry enough to finish off in the dryer. Just had a vicious hailstone downpour and now the sun is shining again! :-D :-D

I am pouring over recipes at the moment looking for inspiration. The doctor has diagnosed borderline diabetes, so it is a whole new world for me :-0 I have to change my diet, which will be hard work, as I often don't feel like cooking a proper meal when I get in from work. Am now waiting for an appointment with the dietician at the hospital. Oh joy, I hate going to that place as it is a nightmare to park! :-P

Evening all. DET I did go to my local history society Archive :-D. Derek and I just like to keep you on your toes :-D :-D. He has been helping me on his thread though and helped me track down my Great Grandad's details.

I am soaked through. Like a fool I went out without a jacket and it absolutely ppoured down :-| :-| :-| :-|. Still home for the evening in the warm and dry now to settle down to some more digging up the lost rellies :-D

I've been doing that all day - The Eltham Crem has been released on Deceased online and I've actually forked out for 6 scans :-D

Now why is OH's grandad called aka Edward? - its the first he has heard of it. Father in law will be interrogated :-|

It hasn't rained at all today - should have put the washing out after all.

Off to get dinner. Might be back later, then again, might not.

Back again after thinking about YG's leetle problem.

Most of the diet changes we made were due to OH having a high colesterol as well. Eldest's &Co avoids sugars, which as a starting point would include sweetened drinks, cakes, biscuits, icecream, confectionary and jams.

Given the choice, he tries to have whole grained products rather than refined flours eg Wholemeal pasta, breads and oats which are slower to digest and convert to sugar within the body. (edit - and include pulses for slow release energy)

Borderline type 2 doesn't take much adjustment in the diet, and you may even end up with a slimmer figure! Your dietician will be able to point you in the right direction. The GP will probably want to monitor the situation closely until he is confident you have it under control, then a once a year check up. You'll even get invited to an annual retina scan, and you should tell your optician when ever you have an eye check as they look for different things.

Take care of your feet and legs - since you go to a chiropodist, tell them as well.

It doesn't have to rule your life unless you let it!!! <3

OH asked yesterday what we were going to do today, so a trip out may be in the cards. We'll see when he eventually arises from his slumbers

Thank you for the tips DET. No meds at the moment and the cholesterol result was much better so he is pleased with that. I have already started to use sweeteners in my tea and have given away all the chocolate!! The biscuits can go to work with me tomorrow for the girls to eat!

I have bought loads of fruit so am hopefully off to a reasonable start. The doctor said I would be able to buy a new wardrobe lol!! I asked him if he was going to buy it!! :-D :-D

I'm feeling a little more optimistic today.

I have managed to get all the washing dry in between heavy showers, although the afternoon has been much better. The forecast isn't good for the week, though. As I am at work I don't mind. The rain is very badly needed.

Hope you managed to get out DET and that LG has enjoyed the surprise party.

Phew I'm stuffed :-D. What a wonderful birthday bash my friend was so surprised to see us all waiting for her she was near to tears. I won't want any tea tonight that's for sure :-D

Glad you are feeling brighter YG - it must have been worrying especially as you don't have anyone in the family with type 2.

That's one way of getting out of cooking tonight LG! Hope the birhday girl wasn't left with the mess to clear up ;-)

Nah- we didn't go out in the end. I think he forgot about it as it was his 'turn' to monopolise the PC for his electronic circuit designs. Mind you, he has suggested a Chinese take-away for dinner!

not a day off today or yesterday but yes to the next two
over the last two days we have had loads of rain ,hailstorms that piled up like snow ,and now its bright but very cold
I set the alarms off today making dinner but got them reset before the reds arrived lol I am convinced they make the ovens smokey just for me lol

Trust you Maz - you'll be cleaning next time you're on shift, I can feel it in me bones ;-)

It was bright until about 4 pm, then we go the hail showers; nothing as bad as it sounds as if you had. It looks as if it will be much the same for the rest of the week :-( I'm sorely tempted to turn the heating up, despite wearing a T shirt and Jumper.

morning all its warm and bright so far and hopefully till later on as i have loads of the laundry to do more towwlls bedding really as i am going top to bottom today then its done hopefully lol

the last wash is in and i am about to start the kitchen floor so now the cats will wake up lol
