thought it was supposed to be dry if cold tomorrow? Or is that why you are hoping it will be cancelled?

PC has taken over the kitchen. If there are any cup cakes to spare, some will be coming via the cyber hatch. :-D

With young at heart LG on the Suffun side, we are sure to win :-D

Mini cup cakes available for those who want them - since they are virtual, even YG can indulge - lol

OH got cabin fever today, so we went for a coffee and mooch around the Shopping Mall. What exciting lives we lead

YG Report 3 May 2012 19:36

Evening all. It's been cold but dry here. Just heard the forecast for May and they say it is going to be wet and cold, but not as much rain as in April :-P :-P :-P :-P

The cup cakes were delicious DET. Thank PC for me!! Would you like to bake me a 50th birthday cake for tomorrow please. I am desperate!!!! What a nightmare today. I wanted a photo cake from A***, been to a lot of trouble to get the photo and went down at lunchtime to get the cake and a helium balloon. I took a print out of the picture but they said the original photo would be better so rushed to the photo kiosk to get an original done. The bakery loaded it in the machine and we picked the border and the writing and left them to it for 15 mins. Went back and lo and behold >>>>>> the ink cartridge has run out and it is only printing in red!! They can't open the printer to change the cartridge until the light comes on, so they couldn't do it! Will it be fixed tomorrow, says I? Don't know, will have a play this afternoon but can't promise. Went to the checkout with the balloon. Cashier says 'would you like it blowing up?' 'Yes please'. Calls an assistant over who then informs me that they have run out of helium :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

Phoned tonight to see if the printer is fixed and it isn't, neither is it likely to be fixed tomorrow. I was absolutely gutted as I have gone to a lot of trouble to make funny posters and bought trimmings to decorate the office. None of the other supermarkets do photo cakes, so i am stuck with buying an ordinary one. I have now decided that, as I am going out for a meal with my friend early next week, with her daughters, I will try again to get the cake finally done for then.

Oh dear YG sounds like you are having a day like mine. Just read the items I'm supposed to have on Saturday and whoops have not got a Gazebo sorted :-(. Shows how keen I am to attend ;-)

YG

YG Report 3 May 2012 22:30

Oh dear, LG!! You naughty girl!! Sounds as though you are also going to arrive home in rather a dirty state!!! The Per**l tv add comes to mind! :-D :-D

Reminds me of when I did a six mile charity obstacle run round Chatsworth House!! Coming in almost next to last, and having to run twice round the moat after it had been churned up by the professional runners and everyone else!! I was filthy and my new white trainers and tee shirt never recovered properly!!

Things can only get better!

Its a real shame about the cake and balloons - you'll have to use a lot of 'puff' instead. But think of the money you will save ;-)

It's not like you LG to get forgetful or despondant about a Brownie do. Any chance of a diplomatic illness? Hope you can get a gazebo sorted out in time. And get them all to wrap up warm, as well as preparing the parents for their daughters return in disguise :-D

Though I could do a cheap water slide..

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 4 May 2012 10:05

a water slide you may need a large pipeline from kielder to nut lodge as thta is where our water is

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 May 2012 10:06

What a good idea! We (the kids and I) tricked OH onto a log flume at Alton Towers. We didn't tell him that the first drop was while it was in a tunnel. He has never forgiven us. :-D

Maz, it you are late, why are you here? ;-)

YG

YG Report 4 May 2012 18:08

Mmm, I think Maz means she is on a late shift!!

Well the celebrations went well at work for my friend's birthday, after all the hassle. Managed to get a balloon and she took the posters that we put up really well.

The lucky girl is being whisked off next Saturday for a surprise holiday for two weeks, long haul!! She has had a brilliant week, moving her youngest daughter into her new house, passing her final stage of her Personnel Management diploma and her birthday and she will also have a first grandchild in July! :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 May 2012 18:33

Cor, a long haul flight on top of everything else? She'll be shattered when she gets where ever!

And to think we are still trying to sort out a holiday destination. Did you know that travel agents view a departure booked now for early September as a 'Late Booking'? :-S

YG

YG Report 4 May 2012 18:51

If it's a late booking, there should be some good offers, DET. I keep being bombarded with cruise deals and although I was hoping to go again this year, I think it will have to wait until 2013. My friend won't have enough holiday left this year.

Have you any particular places in mind that you would like to go to?

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 May 2012 18:56

Errr....

Spain?
Greece?
Greek Islands?
Malta?
Balleric Islands?

That's part of our problem -somewhere expected to be warm, reasonable value but not with an economy carrier or in a over built area. Swimming pool to sit and people watch. Places to see during the day but not 'clubbing' or yoofs.

Perhaps we'll stay at home !
