Morning all - did you miss me? :-D

This work malarky is really knackering, as well as taking up large parts of the day. At least this afternoons session is short and sweet, even though I'll have to go out again to collect OH - the disadvantage of being a one car family.

Hope Maz slept well last night - its much fresher today.

YG

YG Report 25 May 2012 17:03

Of course we missed you, DET!! And it's time your OH started sharing the computer or he will have us lot to deal with!! :-D :-D

Just got in from work and it's another beautiful day. Do I do the unmentionable to relieve some pressure over the weekend, or do I start cutting the grass? Mmm. I think the unmentionable might win as it will be a little cooler indoors >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> not that I'm complaining about the sun, you understand!! :-D :-D :-D

YG Report 25 May 2012 21:19

Evening Maz.

You must feel much better being out and about sometimes. I couldn't have taken the heat in the kitchen in the summer. It melts me just being in the office, even with air conditioning. My bad foot reacts badly to the heat.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 May 2012 08:02

My body clock has slipped and was up at 7. How irritating when there is no need to get up at a 'normal' hour :-0

I'm hoping to drag OH out to the Nursery later today to get some bedding plants. We may be too late, but the earlier cool weather made it feel the wrong time to plant up my pots.

Sorry to hear that Frog is feeling uncomfortable. Is there anything in particular that triggers it? They used to say it was because the person drank too much Port, but that has now been discredited. It's the company that makes a good day - enjoy sitting out in the sun

YG Report 26 May 2012 19:11

Evening all.

What a beautiful day it has been today >>>>>>>. and still is!!

I have been a really busy bee and done most of the gardening. Just waiting for tea to cook and feet up then to watch tv!!

Hope you got your bedding plants, DET.

I daren't go near the garden centre as I will spend too much and have decided to have some fencing done instead of the patio, so I need to keep the money in my purse!! :-D :-D

Mazfromnorf Report 26 May 2012 19:31

its been lovely we sat inside lol cos he was in pain and hates sitting out in the sun lol ,his triggers are varied for the gout so not sure what causes it

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 May 2012 20:01

Shame you had to sit inside Maz, but as long as you were comfortable in each other's company.

We ate our evening meal at the patio table...the second day in a row :-D
Mind you, come 1830, the temperature starts to drop rapidly.........at least as far as sitting out is concerned.

5 pots and 2 long tray thingys planted up, but there are still 4 small pots unfilled. I've only just realised that they had been used in past years for geraniums, which died over this winter. No wonder the trays of bedding plants didn't go far enough! We got half a tray and some herbs at the Garden Centre, and 2 full trays and a Pepper at the Commercial Nursery - much cheaper!!!
As mentioned in the past, our garden is surrounded by mature trees, so I move pots into the borders when the spring bulbs die off. All the flowers lean towards the light, but at least there is a bit of colour. If only we could win the lottery and buy a south facing garden with fewer surrounding trees!

Fencing is probably more important than a patio/table hard standing area.. and there is always next year. Are you going to create a hiding place with it, like LG's quiet area?? ;-)

YG

YG Report 26 May 2012 20:45

My front garden is south facing, but it's not private enough to sit out there unfortunately!

Sounds as though you have had a busy time potting up, DET. Good work!!

I have treated the lawns and they are starting to look nmuch better and Peter is going to narrow the border back a bit and extend the lawn by another 3ft.(More to cut, lol!)

I will have a look at the patio next year and get in a professional to design and lay it if I can afford to do it. For now, once the fencing is up, everything will look very presentable! :-) :-)

Am off for a soak in the bath to ease some aching limbs.
:-D :-D

I'm not too impressed yet with Eurovision!!! Are you watching? I don't think the UK will do well. I wonder what Jedward are going to come up with!! I must be out of the bath for that one!!

I'm popping off for my bath, but will be back!!

LaGooner Report 26 May 2012 21:28

Swedens song is good but a bit of a rip off of The Edge of Glory by Gaga. Catch you soon
