Hi YG, what sort of a day have you had, dare I ask :-)

YG

YG Report 8 Jun 2012 21:42

It's been busy, but enjoyable as my line manager has been on holiday this week! Sheer bliss without her :-D

I have spent a very interesting afternoon trying to source a David Hockney print of the Yorkshire Wolds for our main board of trustees to give as a retirement present for one of our directors. I have found some, as long as they approve the cost and two of us have had fun searching.

That was something different for you YG,

YG

YG Report 8 Jun 2012 22:58

Yes, it was. I wish every day was like that! It must have worn me out, cos I've fallen asleep again!! Laid watching the news and then gone!!

I think it's time I climbed under the covers, so I'm gone before I fall asleep again.

Hope you sleep well. Catch you tomorrow <3

Morning LG - we had a power cut last night, an overnight visitor, and I couldn't be bothered to re-boot :-P

The best part of shopping is when you can spend other people's money - hope you get approval. Did the intended receipient asked for the print?? Art is a very personal taste!

Since it is supposed to be dry, I'm hoping to get some washing done.Couldn't do it yesterday as the visitor slept in the 'laundry room' so no where to hang it indoors

I had visitors yesterday as well, DET. In fact I was bombarded with them............ 11 altogether. Pleased none of them wanted to stay overnight.

We were just sitting in comfy clothes (for comfy read old) when 3 members of hubby's family turned up. Then 4 members of mine.......... followed by another 2 of mine and then another 2.

Everyone was talking at once and 4 kids were running around screaming. I enjoyed it though........... so did my son, he thought it was fun. Mr Sociable (hubby) decided he needed to go somewhere!! :-|

Edit: Just read down the page and seen that Persie is leaving.

Can't we change your mind Persie?

You've done so much work for us on the castle, we must owe you a fortune.

Gawd................ I hope we don't get a bill!!!

They'd probably heard that you were 'up to receiving visitors' Pauline. Pity they didn't stagger them!

YG

YG Report 9 Jun 2012 19:27

Yes, DET, the recipient came up with the suggestion herself. The board wanted to buy something that would last and could be inscribed, but she is not keen on silver, glass or pewter!! Restricts things, rather!

There are two very different styles to David Hockney, so we are going to ask her to choose the print that she would like.

Oooh, 'eck, Pauline, lots of visitors! I don't think I could cope with that many :-D

It has finally been dry here all day, so I have managed to cut all the grass and do some of the edging. Hoping to finish it tomorrow, although more showers are forecast. I also have to do my duty and visit my dil, as it is her birthday today. She will have gone out with mother and brother, so I am going tomorrow.

So much footie on tv tonight :-P :-P I am not a happy bunny :-| :-|

You have been busy YG. Well done!

We've managed to get together our non-oily bits of paper, ready to send off to be checked. And no, I'm not going to do the accountant's work for him, listing each individual dividend - he can do that himself. After all, I'm the client paying him :-|

Re the flaming round ball game what over paid Prima Donnas kick about- I quite agree with YG. Now that digital switchover is well on its way, the Beeb and the other lot ought to have a dedicted freeview sports channel. They could probably fill it with minority foreign sports when there isn't a GB event of interest.

If they'd thought ahead, they could have put the Olympics and Tennis (sorry Pauline) on there as well as this Euro thingy!

YG

YG Report 9 Jun 2012 20:25

Here, here, DET!!! I am in full agreement with you. The whole evening is taken up with footie tonight as well as throwing all the other schedules out on other evenings. I am sick to death of it, and no sooner will this be over, than the Olympics will start. I think I need to emigrate for 3 months :-D

YG

YG Report 9 Jun 2012 20:58

I know, Maz. It is rubbish. Not even warm enough to sit outside and ignore it! And it's only two weeks to the longest day. We haven't seen any summer yet to speak of!

Never mind YG the premiership starts in August :-P :-P :-P :-D. Have got to get my new shirt soon.

Not been too bad weatherwise here today.Just a little shower and at last the wind has dropped.

YG

YG Report 9 Jun 2012 22:05

I'm so angry! It's on every night, goodness knows for how long! I agree with DET that they should should all hae dedicated sports channel. Not just football, but bloomin' tennis as well, and Wimbledon coming up.

Where's the nearest mast that I can jump off :-D :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 9 Jun 2012 22:18

Nearest mast is on the Arsenal Arkroyal :-D. I agree with the fact that it should be restricted to maybe just a couple of channels. Would be much easier for footie fans to find on tv and leave other people to watch their usual programmes. I won't be watching too many matches only holland (my idol is in that) and Germany because I am watching the performance of one of the players as he has been signed up to the Gunners. Oh and of course will be watching Englad.
