What happened to those prayers. LG!!! Rain this morning, although it turn ed out drier this afternoon. I shot home at lunchtime to find my naked gardener next door painting a bedroom!! He could have got most of the job done this afternoon, so I am still coming down from the ceiling :-| :-|

Hope your colleague pulls through ok, DET. It sounds very unpleasant.
You have been a busy bee. Does that mean most of the exams are all over now?? Perhaps some will be finishing school then, so less traffice for me in a morning!!

On holiday now, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D

Lucky you YG. Sorry that the prayers wore off, I will try harder next time ;-)

Morning all - fingers crossed that Pauline and Maz haven't floated away, or anyone else for that matter!

YG, you'll have to tell your naked gardener that Mon and Tues look dry so to get his B*tt in gear! It is next week that you have time off, isn't it? Lost track of the are you/aren't you :-D

Yes, Monday is the last day that our school has public exams although there may be some A levels until 29 June that they aren't entered for. Its probable that year 11 could leave (or stop being forced to attend school) after that date. It used to be that the yr 11s went on Study Leave once Exams started, but now our lot have to go in for revision sessions. Different schools seem to adopt different rules!

Nothing new on our Exam Assistant - OH doesn't think to ask for updates. They thought she had a clot in one of her legs, and she had/has a build up of fluid on the lungs which able bodied people could move about and help to shift :-(
As long as nothing else crops up, she ought to be OK even if it takes a while. An extremely talented lady who doesn't let her disability get in her way - a native speaker of a 'foreign' language, she used to be a teacher, and now sets, marks and tutors other examiners at GCSE and A level as well as holding down a job.

Morning all.

It's not raining yet but we had enough yesterday to last us for the rest of the year.

DET, I hope you get some good news about your Exam Assistant, she sounds like a strong willed lady who won't give in easily.

YG

YG Report 23 Jun 2012 09:52

Morning all.

Pauline, please ask the rain to shift further up out of our way!! The forecast does look better for the next few days, other than tonight when more heavy rain is due, clearing by tomorrow morning.

My naked gardener is coming after work today, about 5pm! He knows he has to get this job done by Monday morning or else!! I just have to tie him down now mid week to finish the rest of the border, once the shed is up!!

Good to see you Pauline and so pleased you haven't been washed away. 'They' say that we are going to have this type of weather for at least the next month :-0

Yes, she is a strong woman - its probably to get back at the medics who gave such dire warnings when she was diagnosed in her early 20s. She's already battled with a potential life shortening 'female' disease with out missing a day of work :-D

YG

YG Report 23 Jun 2012 18:08

I've been about quite a bit!!

Done the unmentionable, got the washing dry, done the food shopping, now having dinner, whilst the naked gardener lays the slabs!! Yeah!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

Are you out and about now, DET??

LG is hiding and I think Maz is probably slaving away. :-D

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 23 Jun 2012 18:56

I hope she pulls through this as well, DET.

I got the washing dry as well, YG, I'm slaving away topping and tailing gooseberries now. We got more than usual on the bushes this year, they make lovely jam though. :-)

I'm just having a little break because I'm getting a stiff neck.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 23 Jun 2012 20:07

Well, we did go OUT into the garden...to supervise OH moving the pile of earth caused by the earlier hole digging and patio laying :-)

Glad to hear that yours is on the way YG - I thought to warn you about the 'spoil' - 15 x 3/4 barrow loads from about 4ft diameter!!!!!

Lucky Pauline having gooseberries (or anything for that matter) to prep for eating.

Snails ate the growing tips of the Runners
Baby leaf lettuce (in pots ) have been 'got at' and disappeared
Tomatoes aren't exactly thriving
And I'm concerned that the growing tip of 1 (of 2) courgettes has been nibbled off

YG Report 23 Jun 2012 20:34

Ha-ha!! It came to an abrupt halt, DET!! We were going to use four paving slabs that were already in the garden, same size as the ones we bought >>>>>>>>>>>>>> or so we thought!! They turned out to be old imperial size, about 3/4" longer than the others, so at 7pm we went racing through to the other side of town to buy some more, but they were closed. Finished up at B&* and managed to get them there. So tomorrow will be the closing session of the base laying!! He is not at all pleased, but I am past caring!!

I am now going to sit with my feet up! :-D :-D

Pauline, the gooseberries sound lovely. I haven't had any for a long, long time. I haven't attempted to grow anything this year. It all has to be in pots or grow bags and I couldn't devote the time to them. I might try tomatoes and lettuce again next year.
