Evening all!!

It's been lovely here most of the day, just a quick shower late this afternoon. Pondering over whether to cut some more of the grass!!

Got the washing done and dried, but a basketful of you know what waiting!!

Maybe, just maybe, the jet stream is finally moving from right above us and we will get something up in the sky that shines :-D :-D

OR

we could have good weather in December and have a barbecue for dinner on the unmentionable day :-D :-D

Mazfromnorf Report 14 Jul 2012 19:57

YG

YG Report 14 Jul 2012 20:11

That's typical, Maz!!

We have had a couple of heavy showers again, but the sun is back out, so the grass didn't get cut!

Morning sleep over for me today just as well i dont need a lot of sleep to operate as owt can happen on these shifts .
I do get home cabbaged though lol ,It is a lovely sunny morning here have put the laundry out as i need to keep on top of it as my shifts are nasty ones this week and A is packing to leave next weekend for the capital

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Jul 2012 07:58

I 'need' 8 hours, but recently its been between 6 and 7. No wonder I've been nodding off in the afternoon or early evening!

Good luck to A - hope he has somewhere to sleep! And tell him to 'Block in' the so called official cars. Bleeding IOC Officials and if we are to believe it, spectators who have bought the 'right.' He will have to develop a thick skin - those Olympic only lanes are not popular if he is driving through the Capital rather than shuttling from the Village to the Park! There is a strong possibilty that taxi drivers will also use them 'illegally' as a protest.
I've no gripe with the Athletes on coaches, but over paid IOC officials with grandiose ideas about themselves? Bung 'um on a mini bus and let 'em slum it! Phew!

Hope the shift is peaceful tonight, and you can get as much rest as possible.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Jul 2012 09:17

Which Uni Maz?

And good luck if he does have enough time off to visit his Gran - she'd no doubt be delighted.

YG Report 15 Jul 2012 12:53

I hope A enjoys his time there, Maz. I am sooooo pleased that I do not live in the smoke!! It will be manic, particularly as there is a severe shortage of security. According to communication from the Royal Mail it is even going to affect postal deliveries to the big city.

Been a busy bee this morning, just a quick break and off to do some more unmentionables and hopefully some grass cutting. It is a lovely day, although a little breezy, so may chance lunch outside today!

Afternoon YG - I'm keeping out of the way while BM and OH packs up and dismantles his bedroom. They have now decided that they do want me along- if there is room on the bench seat in the van. Otherwise I may have to drive through London in the car. :-(

One of the suppliers OH gets his engineering bits&bobs from have sent a blanket email out saying to allow at least 2 days extra, and if into commercial usage, to make sure they have stocks in hand.

Hope it stays dry and warm enough for you to 'Christen' your outdoor dining area :-D

YG Report 15 Jul 2012 20:59

Well, I did manage to air the table and chairs and sat down for a couple of minutes!! Decided to take advantage of the weather and do some weeding!! I might do the large area of grass one evening this week if the weather is suitable, although there is some disturbance from the ants that are getting ready to emerge and fly!! They tend to come out of the same area every year and I normally hide indoors for a couple of hours until they have gone!!

I hope you can fit in the van, DET, I wouldn't fancy driving through London any time!! :-|

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Jul 2012 23:51

Flying ants? Yuk! They are almost as bad as slugs and wasps! We also have numerous nests in the garden and under paving slabs, but I haven't seen any of them preparing to fly as yet. Ours tend to leave it later in the season.

Glad you've been able to air the table and chairs. Time to sit back and enjoy the garden while sipping a drink and reading a book :-D
