+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Jul 2012 09:35

Morning all – a pleasant day was had at the Castle; with so much to see it deserves another visit. Although the car parks were full, the site is so large, it never seemed crowded.

Back to reality today with shopping. The Chiller section might be quite welcome! Locally we have been predicted 28c gradually dropping with rain on Monday followed by sunshine and showers.

Well done to Auntie’s footie team, but please don’t talk about the Olympics. If I suffered from high BP, it would be through the roof! I was against having it in the UK right from the beginning but now its here the organisation should have been sorted out.

An instant family? Is this full or part time? it must have been quite a shock to the system!

The instant family is a shared arrangement. Dau and bloke have them a few days a week and then in the holidays. Just enough time for discovering kids throw up in the darndest places and don't always hit the toilet bowl on cue. She has always wanted kids and never had any of her own so this arrangement suits her fine.

We are seeing the Olympic chaos on telly as I said. It will probably be all sorted out on opening night, and everyone will forget the problems and bask in the glory. Or words to that effect.

It is pouring with rain here right now. Can't see if because it is dark (that happens at this time of night), but I can certainly hear it. I am supposed to to walking in the morning, will probably end up down at the gym on the stupid treadmill if it is this wet.

YG Report 25 Jul 2012 19:13

Ha-ha!! I had a two minute power cut last night. Had to re-set the BT Vision box and then everything was ok. Took the fan into the bedroom to keep cool and woke this morning thinking I was in a sauna. The power cut had tripped the central heating timer and it been on full blast for two hours!! :-D :-D :-D

????? :-(

If that was an 'only clever people can understand this' then I've failed :-0

Is it some Prince from Nigeria trying to persuade you to help him access lost Millions? :-D

Hope you've manged to cool down now - just as well your CH is going to be replaced. Our timer doesn't reset if there is a power cut, even the original boiler c 1960 didn't!

AuntySherlock Report 25 Jul 2012 21:08

Ah YG very clever but you will need to do better than that. Out it work to seconds ten me took it. Perhaps a prince from Arabia might be more to the point, DET.

Morning all, nothing to report from down under. Still cold we and miserable. By the way congratulations on beating us soundly in the one day cricket matches. You do realise they don't count because they were played in our winter which is footy time!!!

Is Nut Lodge still standing. After all the renovations, reconstruction, countless visitors and new inmates I did wonder!!!

YG Report 25 Jul 2012 21:26

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Jul 2012 07:33

Nope, still can't work it out! Another sign of approaching Dementia? And that's not a throw away remark!

Edit - Got it..............at long last!!

Morning all - BM's girlfriend is moving in today. OH has been asked to go to the house in SW London to meet the van and direct operations in case BM can't get home in time. With a minimum of a 4 hour drive from her current home, he will have plenty of time. I'm not going as I don't want to be seen as 'muscling in' - its *their* home, not ours.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 26 Jul 2012 10:50

Morning DET. Chill out while OH is out :-D.

We are off to the hospital soon for yet another eye check for OH. oh Happy Day. :-P

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Jul 2012 11:26

He hasn't gone yet :-0

BM wanted him to hire a van and bring the extra double bed back. The trouble was that I can't help him unload, and there wasn't time to arrange for help after 7pm last night - BM couldn't organise a Pee up in a brewery but normally things just fall into place.

Hope the eye exam is just routine and nothing else lurking to worry about.

YG

YG Report 26 Jul 2012 22:20

Oh dear, LG, I bet he's not happy! Not too serious, I hope. Eyes are very precious.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Jul 2012 23:25

....which probably means LG has to go as well :-(
It must be sooo frustrating having the problem, caused by something that should of made things better.

YG? :-P ;-)

The girlfriend's Removers agreed to drop off some of the 'extras' to us. They had a 5 hour drive from her old home, humped furniture in the heat, then had to drive back the same distance.

As it's Ramadan, they've been up and fasting since 3 am and wouldn't be breaking their fast until 9 pm.
I could probably go with out food, but liquids? :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 26 Jul 2012 23:57

I will drop him there and then pick him up probably. We will know more when the actual appointment comes through. I am off to bed now as the heat has really flaked me out and I have been snoozing in the chair :-D. NIte nite all off to get some sleep ready for the mini Gooner invasion tomorrow ;-). <3
